Title: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on February 13, 2016, 03:13:33 PM
Ooops, I accidentally deleted the old topic... Didn't even know I could do that.. :-[

Where were we... Oh yeah, laughing at harv and United  ;D

... and it looks like we will only be 8 points behind United. If they can make the Champions League, we can also finish above Utd lol.

Lol.. Moyes record after 26 games is better than LVGs this season... I can't believe they are waiting to sack him... There's no way he'll be in charge next season so what's the point keeping him now

Great performance from us 1st half, hope terry is OK for PSG... That should be our priority now

Ffs, after the results today if we had won yesterday we would have been just 3 points away from 4th place. Soooooo annoying!!! >:( :'(
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on February 14, 2016, 07:05:16 PM
Yep.. and if Chelsea hadn't of lost all those games this season.. we'd probably be top  :o ::)
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on February 14, 2016, 09:17:02 PM
Lol, a bit different when I'm just talking about one game :P ;D
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on February 15, 2016, 08:14:25 AM
Yeah but its not just that one game is it.. you've lost so many games this season that you probably should of won... and probably would of won if you had a decent manager.  If we would of beaten you twice - instead of the 2 draws.. we'd be 2 points behind you.. but we didn't.

Moyes gained more points in his short stint after 26 games than LVG has this season (after £285m has been spent).. how can you still back the manager realising this.. it's not like the performances are any good either... you just got your ass handed to you by Sunderland LOL.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on February 15, 2016, 02:02:06 PM
It is just one game because I was only talking about one game. ::) ;)
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on February 17, 2016, 08:30:39 PM
Oh OK, so if you had won that one game.. you'd of been in the exact same position you are in now.. yep.. definitely that one game that's mucking up your season  ;)

Rooney out for 2 months LOL.. United are fucked now 8)  Great news if he's injured longer.. hopefully he'll miss the euros and England might actually a striker or two who can actually score in a big tournament.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on February 18, 2016, 08:55:17 PM
Same position in the League but just 3 points away from 4th place.

Hopefully the Roonster being out will mean that Keano will be given a shot. I'm really surprised that he hasn't had much of a chance during these last few years. Or maybe young Rashford will break through..?

Shrewsbury must be slight favourites for the game on monday wouldn't you say Jman??
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on February 19, 2016, 07:54:36 AM
Surely if they don't win that they will sack Fat Head... that's the only concern here..  ;D ;D  I want him to carry on long enough to absolutely make sure they don't get a CL place or win a trophy - and its looking good so far.  ;D ;D
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on February 27, 2016, 05:14:00 PM
That was a bit jammy from us, despite owning most of the possession, we played crap... Mikel was bloody useless again and another poor goal to give away.  Soton probably should of had a penner and our 1st goal was very soft.  Still a win is a win... Nearly in the top half of the table now  ;D
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016

BIG gamble from Van Gaal today, starting with Rojo:

De Gea

Varela Carrick Blind Rojo

Schneiderlin Herrera

Mata

Lingard Memphis

Rashford

Bench: Romero, McNair, Riley, Fosu-Mensah, Weir, Januzaj, Pereira

Great to see Timothy Fosu-Mensah breaking through, another future star right there. ;D

De Gea is back too.

Post by: harv on March 01, 2016, 06:44:48 PM
Looks like we may have Darmian, Smalling and Martial back tomorrow with a bit of luck. Tbh I think I'd be tempted to just bring in Smalling and have the other two on the bench...although having Rashford and Martial on the pitch at the same time with the pace they both have could be VERY interesting. :o 8)
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on March 01, 2016, 08:33:49 PM
Very quick goal from Kennedy put us ahead, we've looked dangerous but Norwich have had a few good chances too.

The pass back clearly hit Jerome so nothing to say there but  Costa is clearly offside for his goal, Norwich unlucky to be 2-0 down at HT but we have been the better team overall.

Title winning form at the moment  8)

2-1 final score,  Norwich were unlucky to get nothing out of that.

Up to 8th  ;D

Team news for United:

De Gea

Varela Blind Fosu-Mensa Rojo

Schneiderlin Herrera

Mata

Memphis Martial

Rashford

Bench: Romero, McNair, Lingard, Darmian, Weir, Riley, Rothwell

Happy with that selection, great to see Timbo starting. No Carrick though, probably being rested rather than an injury I reckon.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on March 02, 2016, 08:23:13 PM
We're riding our luck a little in these first 25 minutes :o
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on March 02, 2016, 08:48:25 PM
A fucking awful first half from United. We'd be at least 0-2 down if it wasn't for De Gea. Watford have defended well to be fair but we REALLY need to pick up the pace and create more chances.

And the red scouse gits are beating Citeh too. >:(

I can see us losing this game if the second half is anywhere near as bad as the first for United. :(
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on March 02, 2016, 09:23:16 PM
Mata injured now...think he might have run it off though.

Much better from United. Rashford and Martial have switched positions and Rashford is skinning them.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016

Darmian on for Rojo.

Mata, fantastic free kick. 1-0. We deserve fuck all from this too. :o

Well we managed to fluke that 1-0. Spurs lost, arse lost and Citeh lost. Noice ;D

Bit of a weird season this one :o

If the league started on Jan 1st 2016.. Chelsea would currently be top of the table.. alas!  ;D

United for reference.. would still be 5th...  ;)

Team news for United, 4 changes:

De Gea

Darmian Smalling Blind Rojo

Carrick Herrera

Mata

Lingard Martial

Rashford

A much more experienced back four today but I can't see them all playing 90 minutes.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on March 06, 2016, 04:23:58 PM
A REALLY stupid booking for Mata, interfering with a free kick. >:(

Game started off well but has calmed down a bit in these last 5 minutes or so.

And now Mata gets sent off. Fucking twat. >:( >:( >:(
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on March 06, 2016, 04:47:20 PM
0-0 at halftime. Can't believe that Mata was so fucking stupid. :o

Both Lingard and Rashford are looking like our best bets to create something from wide left and wide right respectively but the pressure is really on now. :-\

1-0 final score. That's us 3 points away from 4th place and Citeh with a game in hand. Although as we've seen in recent weeks things can change pretty quickly and there's plenty of games to go.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on March 06, 2016, 06:52:14 PM
You looked shite against Watford and shite against the baggies...  Not much has changed :D

Love how you say you are 3 points off 4th... You aren't even 5th lol.  Queue of teams ready to overtake United, you could find yourself in the bottom half of the table come the end of the season  ;)
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on March 06, 2016, 06:54:27 PM
Nah, we'll bounce back. We usually do. Having Mata suspended is going to hurt though.

Post by: jman on March 06, 2016, 06:58:17 PM
Your next games are Citeh, Everton and Spuds... Good luck with bouncing back  ;D

Oh and you've got Leicester before the end of the season... I think you'll finish 8th ;)

Our record against better sides is better than most. Things can change VERY quickly from one week to the next this season. There's plenty of twists and turns to go before the end of the season.

Copped a temporary ban from the official Chelsea club forums for suggesting I might chant "Emenalo just fuck off and die" at the last game of the season because our useless technical director and board have fucked us up the arse with a dildo of monumental proportions.

 ;D ;D ;D

Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on March 20, 2016, 04:50:57 PM
United go in at halftime a goal ahead. The movement of Rashford, Martial and Mata are causing the Bitters all sorts of problems, and only Navas is a threat to United so far.

Had to switch to NBC Sports because the Sky Sports stream was playing up.

Schweinsteiger on for Mata.

Citeh seeing plenty of the ball again but not making the most of their chances so far. If they keep this up I can see them getting an equaliser. >:(

0-1 at fulltime. That's just a gap of 1 point now. 8)

United defended well but Citeh wasted plenty of good opportunities. Don't think we did enough to deserve the win but I don't give a monkey's lol :P ;D
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016

Unchanged side for United:

De Gea

Darmian Smalling Blind Rojo

Carrick Schneiderlin

Lingard/Mata

Mata/Lingard Martial

Rashford

I'm expecting Mata and Lingard to continue to switch their roles as the game progresses, I'm surprised that Martial isn't doing this too tbh.

Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on April 03, 2016, 04:22:39 PM
Looks like Lingard is the number 10 and Mata as the 'false right winger', no switching yet.

Everton looking dangerous on the break so far.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on April 03, 2016, 04:50:12 PM
United have just edged the first half but it's the same old problem with attempts not being on target. 7 attempts on goal and 0 on target. The attempts on goal that would have been on target have been blocked. Blind and Stones have been brilliant, the Toffees have only had one attempt on goal so far. Martial and Rashford looking more likely to score.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on April 03, 2016, 05:00:40 PM
Timbo Fosu-Mensah on for Rojo. Timbo coming in as right back and Darmian switching to the left.

1-0 final score and Martial got the 1000th Premiership goal at Old Trafford. 8)

Points dropped by both arse and the Hammers with their draw, another defeat for Chelski too. Hopefully the Baggies are going to nick some points off the Bitters this evening. A win for United tomorrow would put us 3 points away from third place...

...which is why we'll probably get beat lol :o ;D :(

A rare mistake from De Gea and Timbo saves a goal with an outstanding tackle in the box. :o

You would hardly believe that he isn't a natural defender, he's actually a shit-hot central midfielder.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on April 10, 2016, 05:17:24 PM
0-0 at halftime, very few chances created by either side. Spurs have had 4 and United have had 2 and none of those chances have been on target. United were all over Spurs for the first 15 minutes but after that Spurs have upped their game and now both sides appear to be cancelling each other out. :(

It is funny that you still believe you can finish in the top 4.  ;D ;D

Playing Young up front - stroke of masterclass from Looney Fat Head  ;D  I think I read somewhere afterwards that Looney has now played Young at right back, left back, right wing, left wing, center mid and striker.. you wouldn't mind so much if the player was world-class.. but it's Ashley Young  ;D ;D

And Darmian... who I think you championed as being the signing of the season at the start didn't you harv?  lol.. what a shower of shit he was.

1-0 final score, disappointed that we didn't score more. Villa showed signs of life towards the end of the game but not enough to avoid relegation.

2-0 final score and a good result combined with a good performance for the first time in a while. Hopefully arse are going to drop points tomorrow after Citeh dropped two last night. With Citeh and arse playing each other before the end of the season we could possibly see United getting 3rd place if we win our remaining games of the season, although we do have Leicester and West Ham to play which is going to be a tough ask.

Fucking typical. Citeh are 2.0 down at the moment. If they get beat today, they get beat by arse and we win our last 3 games then fourth place is still on. But we've got both Spurs and West Ham to play. :-\

Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on May 01, 2016, 06:41:56 PM
Well the Bitters got beat 4-2 by the Saints so today wasn't a complete disaster, but if we had won today that would have put us 2 points behind them with a game in hand. We've failed to capitalise on bad results for arse and Citeh so many times this season.

Fellaini will probably get a suspension post-match for his elbow on Huth but if Huth doesn't get the same then that's going to be a real travesty. >:(

Fellaini has always been too free with his elbows in the past but in this case his elbow was quite justified imo :o

Wow.. sour grapes from Spurs last night... I hope they get the book thrown at them... 9 bookings (the most for a single side in one match in PL history).. then all the tackles that Twattenburg let go... Dier should of been sent off at the end.. Lamela stamped on Fabregas' hand, Dembele with the eye gouging.. Cochettino running onto the pitch.. then the riot at the end... it was a bit of a circus at times and I've no doubt we'll get fined for failing to control our players but Spurs definitely a bunch of bad losers!

In terms of the football, it was a good match for the neutral - poor defending let us down in the first half and a good performance in the 2nd half got us back into it - we bossed most of the game though.  Hazard played his best game all season and a fantastic goal - shame he hasn't played like that all season.  Fair play to Leicester, but we'll be back next season - no doubt about that.

A good weekend for United but we had 2 more injuries to add to the list. Martial was injured during the warm up and Darmian was injured in the first half. What followed was a shite performance from United but we scraped a 0-1 win.

arse and the Bitters drew 2-2 this afternoon leaving us just 2 points behind Citeh with a game in hand which we play on Tuesday against the Hammers at Upton Park, and they haven't lost there since August apparently, according to one of my mates who just texted me. :o :-\

Still, it's in our own hands now. If we win our last 2 games we're guaranteed fourth place. After a second ridiculously unlucky run of injuries Van Gaal deserves a lot of credit for putting us in that position. You give me the FA Cup and fourth place at the end of the season and I'll bite your proverbial hand off. Still a long way off getting that yet though, we could end up with winning bugger all and 7th place :o :-\ :o

He ain't going to be all that furious. If they'd played today he'd have fielded his best eleven, in hopes of snatching 4th place.

Now he knows he just needs a draw for his best (realistic) possible finish he can rest a lot of his first team.

Chelski are getting a bit desperate, don't you think..? They should have started on promoting their younger defenders to the senior side years ago. Or bought some in. :-\

Just look at United's defensive record since Van Gaal got rid of the old fogies. Last season in particular was VERY impressive considering the injuries we had at the back.

I'm hoping that were going to keep Van Gaal in the job. He's sorted out our problems at the back, next up is upping our scoring rate. The best sides in the world have been built from the back.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on May 19, 2016, 08:07:22 AM
Yes.. selling all those players has brought so much success to United.. oh that's right.. you've won fuck all for the past 3 seasons!  ;D ;D
Fat Head managed a measly 66 points this season.. 2 more points than the Moyes season... except Fat Head has spent £250m on new players since then...I think that tells its own story.  I hope you keep him on too.. it would be so funny.. plus I'd be able to wind you up all of next season - missing out on top 4 again would be nailed on!

Anyway...
Zouma - 21, Dave - 26, Rahman - 21, Miazga - 20, Courtois - 24.
We have plenty of youth talent breaking through at the club - so don't you worry about us harv.  Why would we get rid of our club captain and probably still the best CB in the premier league?  Even just playing half a season will make a massive difference.  I hope we give him a final year next year too.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: harv on May 19, 2016, 07:10:39 PM
We haven't won anything in 3 seasons but we're MUCH better defensively. United are in a transition period. The last transition period we had was under Fergie and that lasted 3 seasons and we still won 2 trophies during that time. Van Gaal has been VERY unlucky with injuries these last two seasons and we're in the FA Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday.

The problem at United was primarily at the back with several players, just like Terry, passed their best and Van Gaal appears to have sorted that out. Next up is increasing our goals scored.

I don't think we'll spend that much money in the Summer because we don't really need to.
Title: Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Post by: jman on May 20, 2016, 07:53:26 AM
Funny that, usually when teams play defensively, they seem to concede less goals and score less goals... oh look...  ::)  If you are happy playing that way and ultimately achieving 66 points.. then good for you.. I certainly wouldn't be - most united fans I know IRL want United to lose the FA Cup so it guarantees Fat Heads exit.  Personally I don't think it matters, I believe Mourinho has already signed a pre-contract and Woodward wouldn't want the humility of paying him for nothing when this season has been nothing short of a disaster for you.

Well it looks like Rashford hasn't been put off by having Maureen at the helm, he's just signed a new 4 year deal with an additional 1 year option. ;D

Mind you, with the way that he's been playing not even Maureen could ignore him with regards to first team action 8)
