CONFERENCE THREE FINAL

It's final day, no one knows who will be crowned champions but whoever wins, we will see a new team win their first cup.

Black Star Knights v CSI-Ramsgate
First time finalists Black Star play a CSI side appearing in their second final. These sides have had great seasons lying second and third in 3-1-1. CSI have been in devastating form in the cup this season scoring 15 goals en route to the final while Black Star have efficiently plotted their path to today. These two have met four times this season and Black Star have won all four times. Will CSI change that today?

Paths to the final

Round one: CSI-Ramsgate   7-1   Great Yarmouth Town
Quarter final: The Chocolatiers   0 - 4    CSI-Ramsgate
Semi final: Sandford St Martin   1-4    CSI-Ramsgate

Round one: Black Star Knights   2-0    Wizards
Quarter final: Black Star Knights   3 - 0    Saiyan Warriors
Semi final: Black Star Knights   2-1    Rathpeacon

Roll of honour 1.Lucy Tigers 2. Touchnplay 3. Green Bay Parkers 4. Top Rank FC 5. Westeros XI 6. Green Bay Parkers 7. Lucys Wanderers 8. Wizards 9. Mmmrs Phoenix Pigs 10. Rathpeacon 11. Conference three cup final

Another great season ends, thanks to everyone for taking part

Black Star Knights 1-0 CSI-Ramsgate
Cup finals are often tight and tense affairs and this was one of those. Both sides played attacking from the outset and effectively cancelled each out. A tactical change by Black Star on the hour mark brought an immediate breakthrough when man of the match Robin Banks scored with a flick on. CSI pushed hard for an equaliser but Black Star held on to win a first cup title.
Commiserations to Brian and well done to Knight Stars.

After my joint worst ever 3-1-1 season last time, now after 8 games I'm top of the league!

I think I have only ever topped the league after a few games once before in my 20 seasons in the top flight so, apologies for any gloating. I just want to enjoy this for however long it lasts.  ;)

Absolutely shocking again.
Three players sent off !
Almost as bad as the game again CSI Ramsgate conceding when tactically in front.
I'm beginning to think Dave is right...

Yeah that was really weird, I had one sent off but the sending offs cost you the game. You would have beaten me. Sorry Nijinsky.

On an aside, I think the game is nuts, I finished 9th in 3-1-1 last season, now I am top of 3-1-1 after 10 games. My team has some new players who have improved a little but not to that extent. I have no idea how I finished 9th last season and I have no idea how I could possibly be top now.  :-\

My slim hopes of challenging for the title were well and truly crushed by Lucy last night, I'm down to 5th now.

MMRS and Wizards are having a great battle for the title.

Instead of worrying about winning in Friendlies, I have been putting all my non-first-Choices (lower morale and poor or zero gelling) into each day's Friendly and then playing weird ATs that I would normally consider crazy and have actually won quite a few games???

Sounds good Dave.

Last season I finished 8th in 3-1-1 having been 3rd the two previous seasons. I dont understand why I was so bad last season.

After 13 games this season, I was leading 3-1-1. My team wasn't that much better and I don't understand how I could possibly be leading. Sine then, I have lost 4 of my last 5 games. It makes no sense at all. I'm getting really annoyed now

5 games to go and just 2 points seperates the top 3. This is one of the best title races for a long time.

Conference three cup round one

A later start than usual this season but good luck everyone

CSI-Ramsgate   vs    Rathpeacon
CSI are 4th in 3-1-1 and Rathpeacon are 5th but 11 points separate the sides. CSI won their recent league tie and will be favourites here.

Black Star Holiday   vs    Wizards
Another top flight tie here as Black host league title chasing Wizards. Black have had a mediocre league campaign and a cup run would be a welcome boost. However Wizards will fancy a win here.

Dynamo Valley   vs    Mmmrs Phoenix Pigs
The defending champions have been handed a tricky away fixture against lower league opposition. 3-2-2 side Dynamo Valley are improving all the time. They will be hard to break down but in the end Mmmrs should have enough firepower to come through.

Sandford St Martin   vs    Dirtbox United
3-1-3 side Dirtbox have promotion secured and are going for a league title. A cup run would make this a memorable season. Standing in their way are Sandford who are mid table in 3-1-1. With little to play for in the league, they can focus on the cup.
