C3 cup quarter finals

Hoarse Whisperers   vs    Kilcully
Easy game for Hoarse who will ease into the semi finals today.

CSI-Ramsgate   vs    Sandford St Martin
Two good cup sides each chasing a first cup title, one will make the semi final, will home advantage give CSI the edge?

sMAshEd   vs    Lucys Wanderers
Tricky one for the league leaders against Lucys who should be high in confidence today.

SatinStorm   vs    Great Yarmouth Town
This has the makings of a great cup tie and a possible upset?

C3 cup quarter final results

Hoarse Whisperers   12 - 1    Kilcully
Easy win for Hoarse as expected, safely into the semi finals and could be hard to beat.

CSI-Ramsgate   3 - 0    Sandford St Martin
Very good win for CSI here, leading by one at the break, two second half goals saw them through.

sMAshEd   3 - 0    Lucys Wanderers
Very straight forward win for sMAshEd here, two first half goals put them in the driving seat. Lucy's chased hard in the second half and were caught on the break.

SatinStorm   0 - 3    Great Yarmouth Town
This was closer than the scorlinee suggest. Only one between them at the break, SatinStorm pressed hard in the second half before falling two down on 57 minutes. Yarmouth scored a third late on to seal the victory.

C3 cup semi finals

Into the penultimate round now and the four remaining teams are all in the top 7 of 3-1-1.

Hoarse Whisperers   vs    CSI-Ramsgate
Hoarse, for so long C3's kingpins have been on a relatively barren run of late entertain CSI in the first semi final. CSI have always competed well in the cup but have yet to win the title. Could this be their year?

sMAshEd   vs    Great Yarmouth Town
The top two in 3-1-1 meet here in what is the most antipicated semi final for some time. Neither side has won a cup title before, the winners of this one will fancy their chances in the final.

C3 cup semi finals

Two great semi finals with the two away teams winning out. We will have a new first time cup champion this season.

Hoarse Whisperers   1-2    CSI-Ramsgate
Hoarse took the lead on 13 minutes but CSI dominated after going behind. It look that Hoarse would hang on but CSI leveled on 89 minutes to bring us to extra time. A 111th minute winner sent CSI in the 3rd ever cup final.

sMAshEd   0-2    Great Yarmouth Town
sMAshEd may lead 3-1-1 from Yarmouth but it's Yarmouth who will play in the cup final after a solid performance. Goals in each half proved the difference as Yarmouth proved more clinical in front of goal.

C3 cup final

It's cup final day and two teams who have never won the cup before meet in the final....

CSI-Ramsgate   vs    Great Yarmouth Town
A top quality final is in prospect as CSI entertain Great Yarmouth. CSI have had a good season and are currently in 6th place in 3-1-1. Yarmouth are second and could still do the league and cup double.
Both sides have impressed to reach the final, a third final for CSI and a first for Yarmouth. The sides have met twice in the league this season with Yarmouth winning 3-0 both times. Yarmouth will start as favourites but CSI have learned from their past finals and this could be their year.

Paths the final
Round one
Wizards   0 - 1    Great Yarmouth Town
CSI-Ramsgate   10 - 1    Dirtbox United

Quarter final
SatinStorm   0 - 3    Great Yarmouth Town
CSI-Ramsgate   3 - 0    Sandford St Martin

Semi final
Hoarse Whisperers   1 - 2    CSI-Ramsgate
sMAshEd   0 - 2    Great Yarmouth Town

Well done smashed .
Sorry Yarmouth, Was at the footy yesterday so tactics weren't set properly.
Can safely say I'd never deliberately go out to injury my opponents especially my UCB buddy !
Only the one and only Hoarses

Good job by Yarmouth too, you came close to a league and cup double, apologies, I didnt get a report done for the cup, I was away this week with little internet which was nice for a change.

I moved Yarmouth to 3-2-1 because I desperately need to rebuild the whole team
I will try to balance the players to remain competitive in the future

Hello C3,

I am looking for input on the future of the C3 cup.

For the past 5 or 6 seasons, i have had to include 3 filler teams to make up the numbers as normally we get only 13 real teams to enter. I think this has taken from the tournament as one team gets an easy 1st round game and one of the filler teams goes into the quarter finals and another team gets an easy game.

I am thinking of making the C3 cup an 8 team cup from now on but this means that some teams will miss out. I am looking at 2 options and would like people to give me feedback:

  • open entry - first come first served - simple and fair
  • entry based on league position from last season - so top 8 in 3-1-1 are invited to enter, if a team doesnt enter then 9th is invited and so on. Makes for a higher quality cup but excludes lower ranked teams. That said, the top 10 in 3-1-1 are all normally cup entrants, there are very few from outside 3-1-1

Would like to get feedback from everyone on this. I will go with the majority view and i will also write to all active managers in C3
