I have started preparing the UCB and I'm planning on going with the teams entered last season. I will post them up again in case you want to make changes or if some of the entered teams are no longer willing to participate. I would appreciate it if the teams involved could indicate if they're still willing to enter. I apologize for taking so long to organize this, but it's quite a hectic summer for me. :-[

That's the second time I've had Cecil send off a player at nutter. I'll need to watch out for that in future games with him reffing. He gives a lot of fouls though eh; 21 apiece! That's loads.

Well Done to Kenny and the gang. I think it is an achievement to win 411. Not to belittle that at all but a year ago Aten Warriors did the same. I believe they need some praise, even retro -spectively. It's what keeps Managers in the game. Recognition from their peers. ;D ;) :P 8)

Well, last nights result hurts. DVG had 2 players out of position slightly or not. Pressures on you Ant.

Conference 4 is looking very interesting this season. Ever since I joined, just over twelve months ago, the league has been dominated firstly by Borg and then by Floriana. This year Kickstart Utd have led from the beginning of the season and have a 4 point lead over the chasing pack with 9 games to go. Considering that chasing pack includes the likes of Cubana Villains, Psychotic and Floriana who are all very successful managers it could be a tight finish.
if anybody is looking for a good league to join next season then Conference 4 would be a good choice. There are a few spaces available at the bottom of the league and apart from that its very competitive. When I joined, a few seasons back I tried to take over one of the bottom teams and save them from relegation. I was amazed to discover the competitiveness, ( having not played this game since 2003 to 2005) and I had to take the drop into Division 2. I came straight back up but had to really fight to stay up in my 3rd season. I don't think its quite that strong below 11th position at the moment but if a couple of more teams join it will be a real scrap. From 11th up every team is very strong.
Cant wait to see if Kickstart United can hold on to the end of the season!

There was no change at the top of Conference 4 last night. Leaders Kickstart Utd had a comfortable win while the chasing pack all came away with smaller victories. An important fixture tonight, however, sees Kickstart take on Cubana Villains. Can the gap be narrowed?

Last night saw the position at the top of the division get even tighter. Cubana Villains overcame Kickstart which means that just two points now separate the top 5 teams with 7 games to go. Kickstart take on another of the chasing pack in the next game when they host Psychotic.

Our leaders Kickstart lost out last night with a narrow 2-1 defeat at home to Psychotic . This allowed Floriana to take their palace at the table where 2 points now separate 5 teams. Psychotic have Floriana in their sights for tonights game. Will there be another change?

Psychotic were unable to beat the leaders, Floriana, last night and went down to a 0-2 home defeat. Wins for Kickstart, Cubana and DVG means 4 points now separate Psychotic, who dropped down to fifth place as a result from Floriana at the top. Psychotic will be keen for a win when they host DVG Stars in the pick of tonight's matches.

After what could be a costly loss, at home to DVG Stars, last night Psychotic have dropped back slightly and with all of the other top 5 teams winning they now find themselves seven points behind leaders, Floriana, with just 4 games to go. There are no games tonight ( santa clause must be too busy to play) and the next top 5 clash sees Cubana Villains and DVG Stars meet on Christmas Day. Two points seperate the leading 4 teams. I'll be back on Boxing Day with the result but in the meantime...

It wasn't a great Christmas on the football pitch for DVG Stars as they put in a poor performance while going down to a 1- 0 defeat to the Cubana Villains who played very well. It looks like it was the DVG Stars who drank the rum and smoked the cigars!. in other games all of the other 5 leading teams won which leaves Floriana leading by one point from the Villains with Kickstart just a further point behind.
Although DVG are only 3 points behind after that defeat their poor goal difference means that it is effectively 4 points.
Elsewhere, there isn't really a relegation battle in 4-1-1 with 3 computer teams going down and Stoke Massif not really doing enough this season.
Excellent teams like West End Girls ( when theirs not busy starring in films) , Surreal Madrid and Aten Warriors are training up recently acquired players ready for an assault on the title in future seasons and Maya Jay Georgia remain strong and tactically astute. Any of these teams can inflict damage on anybody.
None of this season's title contenders play each other tonight but then Floriana face both Kickstart and DVG Stars in their final two league matches of the season before their Elite Cup final against Luton.Will Floriana prioritise that? We shall see.

The leading 5 teams all won again last night which means the positions remain very tight except that the wins for the other 4 has meant that Psychotic can no longer win the league.
In mid table a battle is developing for a place in the top 8 between Robbos Reds, Surreal Madrid and Aten Warriors. MayaJay Georgia and West End Girls are secure there.
The big news from last night is that Stoke Massif have started to put together some results at the bottom with two straight wins after string of defeats. With Stoke's final two games being against fellow relegation threatened teams they could overhaul Lochee United and we do now have a relegation battle in the division...which is good to see. The final game could be decisive.

With two games each left to play there are 3 points separating the stop 4 teams. Any of them could win it and tonight Kickstart in 3rd place take on leaders Floriana.

Wow!. Kickstart United and Floriana battled out a hard fought 1-1 draw last night. They can both be proud of their seasons but unfortunately for them the draw is unlikely to be good enough for either in this very close league.
Cubana Villains must now be hot favourites to take the title when they visit bottom club, SoccerStars, in final match of the season. Meanwhile 2nd and 3rd placed Floriana and DVG stars will be playing each other knowing that a win for either would see them win the league if Cubana do not bag all 3 points tonight . Floriana could also win the league with a draw against DVG, if Cubana Lose.
Kickstart will lose out this year, after leading nearly all season, as even if they win and Cubana lose, to put them level , the winners of DVG v Floriana will have more points or Floriana will have a better goal difference if its a draw. Unlucky, Kickstart..but well done on a great season.
At the relegation end of the table, Stoke Massif have drawn level with Lochee United who they play in the final match tonight to decide who will be relegated. Stoke need the win because of their 2 goal inferior goal difference.

Great write ups Dave. Sadly a few days cost me and a few important players declined at the wrong time but I can be happy with the season as I didnt get top 8 last season.

No surprise last night as Cubana Villains were crowned deserved champions of Conference 4. Congratulations Deca.
Robos Reds came out best in the skirmish for a top 8 place and Stoke Massif succeeded in their relegation battle to survive another season in Division 1.
Good luck to Floriana in The Elite Cup Final tonight and I look forward to resuming battle with all Conference 4 managers next season and to seeing Lochee promoted back the season after. I'll probably post a review at about the half way stage.

The half way stage of the season sees the current champions, Cubana Villains, fighting it out at the top with DVG Stars. The Villains are a legend of the game and have won all there is to win whereas DVG have never won anything so maybe the Villains could take a rest for the second half of the season?
Closely behind, and still in touching distance are Team MayaJay-Georgia who this season have picked up the extra points that their clever tactical play has always suggested they should get. The ever dangerous, past champions, KickStart United remain threatening in fourth place.
The noticeable absence from this title race is Floriana who seem to be going through a period of rebuilding after many of their players reached peak at the same time over the past two years. Maybe the manager is taking a bit of a rest while the new players get trained up and we hope to see him back soon.
Of the promoted teams, this season Bogata Handshake made a very good start and shook up a few teams early on. That was good to see after watching them alternate between first and second divisions for a few seasons and, although not maintaining their early form, they do like they will cement their position in the top division this season . The remainder of the promoted teams make up the bottom four along with Stoke Massif who were in a similar position last year but performed miracles in the second half of the season to stay up. Will they do it again this year? It looks very difficult as the teams just above the relegation zone are very strong and are teams who you really would not expect to see there ..including the likes of Floriana, West End Girls and Robbos Reds. My money would be on all of those teams to stay up. Season 125 was a season of two halves in Conference 4. DVG Stars pulled away to win their first ever real trophy. Manager David Van Gaal said " I am pleased for my philosophy that we won. We didn't play any long balls and I have a dossier to prove it!"
Cubana Villains and Kickstart United put in their usual solid performances to finish 2nd and 3rd while Floriana put in amazing stint to win all but one of their matches in the second half of the season and climbed to 4th having been teasing the relegation threatened teams at the half way stage.
At the bottom, the pattern of the past 10 seasons or so ( maybe longer, but thats when i joined.. and was promptly relegated ) continued with the promoted teams struggling to establish themselves against the strong teams already in this league. Of the teams coming up at the start of the season only The Bogata Handshake survived, after the benefit of a very strong start. The remainder of the promoted teams were relegated along with last season's's battlers Stoke Massif. Next season will see the return of Lochee United and we wish them luck...they will need it.
Another thread on the forum describes the return of the Ultimate Conference Battle for next season. David Van Gaal, manager of DVG Stars , has been asked to get together a team of 4 managers including himself to enter that. He said, "I hope that we will be successful and win against the other conferences but still we have to be aware that it's not like a piece of cake" Messages have been sent to the top 4 teams in the first instance but if anybody else from Conference 4 would like to play, please let me know.

We've reached the half way stage of a great season in Conference 4. A revitalized Floriana are leading the way and look like they might reclaim the crown that was theirs for several successive seasons recently. Brazilian Piggys are putting in a strong challenge though after joining us at the start of the campaign and all eyes will be on them to see if they can finish above Floriana and take the conference at the first attempt.

Congratulations to Floriana as Conference 4 champions. Special mention also for Brazilian Piggys who arrived in Conference 4 this season and very nearly took the title. The league is definitely strengthened this season although we seem to have lost Psychotic, a past winner and strong competitor. Romasexuals also joined us and, unlike the majority who do, managed to avoid the drop, so well done to them also. Here's to another good season!

A big day for Conference 4 teams today.
Floriana play Cubana Villains in the World Cup Final this afternoon. Well done to both teams on a fantastic effort. May the best team win and we look forward to a Conference 4 celebration whoever brings home the cup.
Later this evening DVG Stars take on FL winners Pathetico Madrid in the Elite Cup Final.

Over the last few weeks I've had to take on more work and have had a lot of personal stuff take up a lot of my time so haven't had a lot of time for the game and have become increasingly bored of the game of late, I was wondering if anyone would maybe like to take my team on and carry on with them? Only thing I ask is to keep the team name, drop me a message on the game

I've also found myself with a lot to do at the moment and logging in to SL often is a bit of a distraction. I'm not giving up my team though. I 'm going to keep training them with a plan to come back in a couple of seasons to make a real go of it. In the meantime i will log in occasionally to change tactics , training routines etc just to keep them on heir toes. Maybe you could do the same with the Piggys?

It was a big night in Conference 4 last night as Jerome VanDerWalle's Standard Liege overcame Floriana 2-1. This allowed Jason's Brazilian Piggys to go top with Dellboy's Mixed Martial Farts right behind them. The heat is really on now.

It looks like you stayed off the beer but your players went out for a drink or two Ant. That result between you and Delboy has really set up an exciting finish to the season with just two points between the top 4 teams and 3 games to go. Delboy has tough games against Kickstart and the very dangerous Shaktar Senseless ( Congrats to them on winning FL4 ). You and I play tonight so one of us will drop points , probably me. Will Jason's Brazilian Piggys be the ones to benefit? Who knows ! My money is on Delboy, though.

Anthony, Unlucky but I know you will be back at the top next season.
The Farts and the Stars have an identical run in but in reverse order with each playing Shakhtar Senseless which is a tricky game that either could lose and Kingsbury City which both will win.
The Stars, who are one point behind, need The Farts to drop something against Shakhtar and hope that they don't do the same.
I'm sure I've posted on here about what a nice person and excellent manager the boss of Shakhtar is! ;). ( hope u read it mate)
If both the Stars and the Farts slip up then the Piggys are one point further back waiting to fly!

Season 129 has started with a familiar odour in Conference 4 with the Farts showing they are the team to beat. However the perfume worn by the glamour pussys from the West End is covering the smell a little bit as the girls have matched the Farts point for point. Those two lead the way after the opening games.
All 4 promoted teams have shown they are capable of establishing themselves this season. Austintowne have defeated Deca and MayJay Georgia came out fighting with a pyscho defensive 541 formation against my Stars in a great match to take a share of the points. Floriana have lost points to Kick start in a battle of previous champions and Deca's Cubana Villains have lost two of their opening 3 games.
There are two teams in the relegation places who have been stalwarts of the division ever since I joined, Robbos Reds and Aten Warriors. We don't normally see them down there and it's going to be tough for everybody as those two battle their way up the table.
We've lost Braziian Piggys, last seasons 3rd placed team after last season's controversies and it will be interesting to see how they get on in conference 7 .

Far from any guaranteed points from that match which could end up giving you a 4 point lead if I lose it. I know it's early but a good start to the season will always stand you in good stead for being in and amongst it at the end of the season.

What a Night!
DVG knocked senseless by Shakhtar: The Farts kicked by United and Deca's Villains smoking a nice Havana after defeating Floriana.
The Girls from the West End, meanwhile , keep their party frocks on!
Good away wins by Surreal Madrid, Austitowne and MayaJay, all 1-0. In fact , apart from the Girls who must be on cocaine and won 2-0 ( and not counting Aten's destruction of the computer team...hate to think what this league would have been like if the Piggys had stayed) nobody won by more than 1-0 . Well played everybody!

This league is very strong now and more competitive, as are the majority of the Conference's, It's great for the game.

Halfway stage and DVG lead the way by 4 points and remain unbeaten thus far. Still a lot of games left and anything can happen but with the form DVG are in at the moment it's going to take a storming second half to the season for anyone to stop him. I was hoping for a win last night against Antony but in the end was happy with the draw to keep the gap at 4.
Kickstart and West End Girls are having a good season and can't be ruled out just yet, Ant could also make up some ground with a good second half to the season!

I have a feeling that this will be a very tough title to retain and I think you're right that yourself,Deca and Anthony Spiteri will make it very tough next season. Lets not also forget Kickstart and the West End Girls.
The story of this season on Conference 4 was I think at the bottom. SLB Aguias won FL4 but were still relegated from this division . They lost their last 6 games to suffer that fate but if you look at their fixture list it was a real tough run in and they were not heavily defeated in any. Good luck to them on gaining promotion next season and we look forward to them and Herbie's Wolfberry Tornadoes joining us after that. They should have an interesting fight for the Division Two title next season . It must have ben tough fighting for that 12th place and that was even after we lost Austintowne who took a break and Brazilian Piggys who moved to Conf 7 which left us with a couple of computer teams at the bottom.
There was also a tight battle to qualify for the Elite Cup and Robbos Reds just edged out Shakhtar Senseless and Aten Warriors to claim the last place there.
Looking forward to next season in Conf 4 ! Come on!

It will be an interesting evening in Conf 4 tonight with many teams playing direct rivals for league positions. We might see how the season is going to pan out after tonight.
Tough game for me against Martial Farts with two of my best players seriously injured and another just coming back from serious injury. Add that I've had to play some rookies recently because of the injuries and I've got my work cut out.

Wolfberry Tornadoes and SLB Aguias are both unbeaten in Division Two along with Standard Liege. Wolf berry play Standard Liege tonight and I'm expecting Wolfberry to win that to set up a battle for the rest of the season with SLB to see who gets promoted as champions.

That was an outstanding result against Surreal Madrid, Mr Cobra.
The fixture computer was very kind to me last night as my team was in a mess All strikers were either AWOL or injured, resulting in heavy defeats in the afternoon games, especially in FL1, but luckily my evening league fixture was against one of the struggling teams in Conf 4. I got away with that one.

So with Conference 4 only 8 games in things are looking tight throughout the whole table with only 6pts seperating the top 8.
I am slowly picking up some form after an early dismal run.
Thought id cast a few predictions for tonight's games. Some more in depth than others.
DVGStars vs Surreal Madrid
Wow how a week can change things... Last Friday DVG went down 0-1 to The Farts and since then has won 4/4 scoring 17 and conceding 0.
Surreal Madrid are still in shock after Wednesday's 0-9 MAULING by Ocean City Orioles and will look to turn the tides and bounce back this evening.

Mixed Martial Farts vs Robbos Reds
Mixed Martial Farts sit 2nd in C4 on Goal Difference, in their past 3 games they have won 2 and lost 1, There maybe a slight weakness showing in the defence of the farts as they have conceded in each of their last 3 games. Robbo Reds have won their last 2 games notching 11 goals in the process and wont be a pushover this evening.

Both of these sides seem to have well drilled defences and with only 9 goals being conceeded between them in the 16 games played I am going to sway towards a draw in this game in what seems to be one of the more closer tactical battles this evening.

Top of the table Cubana Villains are the visitors this evening and will be looking to take another 3points to add to their 21pt tally already to put some daylight between them and the farts. I have a feeling this one may end up in a stalemate

You had a lot of tactical advantage but looking into the match report it seems the margin of the scoreline was helped by his one Striker being a (STR L) and then at kick off he was subbed for a (STR R) instead of a central striker so he had a player out of position for the whole 90mins.

I haven't been able to set up properly for day matches until recently but thankfully had enough time at night to set up which has definitely helped me to not drop too many silly points!

Great climax to the Conference 4 season last night in Divisions one and Two
Well done to Delboy's Farts team. He has led for most of the season, opening up a comfortable gap, only to come under pressure from Floriana and DVG Stars at the end. However, last night's 1-0 victory over the very dangerous Kickstart United and the hard fought Floriana victory over DVG means that Delboy takes a 3 point lead into the final match with a superior goal difference. The league is Delboy's and well deserved. 8)
In Division 2 SLB Aguias avenged their previous defeat to Herbie's Wolfberry Tornadoes to draw level on points with one game to go. Both teams have a 100% record excluding their two games against each other. However, as Herbie said at the mid way point, it was important for him to maintain a large superior goal difference and he does done that to some extent as he goes into the final match level on points with a 19 goal superior goal difference . Both teams play CPUs tonight. However, it may not be all over as SLB Aguias play bottom team Tipton City who have lost by an average of 19.3 goals this season while the Tornadoes play Sutherland who have only lost by an average of 0.3 goals. If those averages are maintained tonight it could be a dead. heat. Whoever comes out on top we look forward to seeing both teams in action in the top division next season. Standard Liege will join them and need to complete their rebuilding if they are going to survive.
The race for a top 4 spot in Division One has gone down to the wire. Any one of the 5 teams in positions 4 to 8 could grab it in the final match tonight with just 3 points separating them . Deca, currently in 4th, will be hoping to hold on with his Cubana Villains, after setting himself improved performance targets this season, and last night's draw with Robbos Reds leaves him favourite as he takes on CPU team Twinkies in the final match. A victory there and 4th is his.
Just below the top 8 sits Mr Cobra who set himself pre-season targets of joining them and causing some upsets. He achieved the latter with a September victory over DVG Stars which put paid to DVG's chances of winning the league. 8) Tonight he has a chance to achieve his main target of a top 8 finish but will need to cause another upset to do that by beating Kick Start and hoping that Robbos Reds and Aten Warriors, who sit 2 points above him in joint 7th and 8th, do not draw their match against each other.
Plenty of spice tonight then! I think I had too much last night which is why I can't sleep. ;D

My stand out results for me personally this season was the 2-0 victories over both yourself and Deca!
I did also beat Kickstart 1-0 in the reverse fixture so that gives me a bit of confidence going into tonight's game.
Even though I thought I was going to lose against Floriana a few days back I really didn't help myself by messing a substitute up at Kick Off with playing a Striker in Right Midfield for the full 90. >:(
Anyway every team including myself will be stronger next season and with Wolfberry and SLB joining the Division it should make for another good season.

I'm still a bit worried about tonight's matches as Ant is playing a cpu team who has lost by a lot more than 9 goals several times this season. As much as I'm the clear favourite I can't help but be worried the goal difference will finish me off if Maya Jay manage to pull off the upset!

Yes that was amazingly close. Winning a league by one goal is the closest I've ever seen. Also, SLB missed two penalties which would have given him the title and if you look at the match report he had them taken by a centre back with poor set play and shooting stats. If he had used his midfiielder, SLB Pizzi, to take them he may well have taken the league. :o

There was a sign of things to come on the opening day of the new season. Newly promoted teams SLB Aguias and Herbie's Wolfberry Tornadoes started with wins against established teams who have been in the division for a good few seasons and who they will be hoping to to replace this season . Romasexuals and MayJay Georgia will need to get their acts together task year to avoid the drop.
None of last seasons top 4 teams were able to secure a win first time out, as they played the remaining teams from the top 8 . Not that surprising as we all know the quality of those teams.
Mr Cobra set out his stall with a good 3-0 win over Steven Murray's Notts County.
There will be no let up tonight as last seasons top 4 square off against each other, as do the new arrivals .

Looking at the Conf 4 Table after 4 games the stand out point is that the new teams are doing very well. More than that, two of last seasons Top 4 are sitting in the relegation places. This does not look good for our prospects in the UCB !

The quartet have all got 8 wins under their belts this season with
DVG being the only team unbeaten in the division.
Herbie got his Tornadoes back on track last time out following a 0-1 away defeat to Kickstart the previous evening, tonight he faces the non existing Mixed Martial Farts.
DVG have a home tie against Surreal... Fingers crossed they stop Dave's unbeaten start.
Floriana and OCO battle it out this evening, OCO sit 2nd with a superior goal difference to Wolfberry 3rd and Floriana 4th but the OCO have played some of the whipping boys already!
The exciting thing is any of the 4 could end up in top spot and any of us could end up in 4th!

Well. I lost that one despite my best efforts. Well Done Herbie !
Shows there is always more to learn in this game. I have no idea why my player's performance stats were so low. My gelling and morale were good. My players were all in their correct positions. We both played 451 passing and we had the right boots. I played a higher aggression ( normal v your pansy) but both were appropriate for that ref and i didn't get any red cards so i thought, if anything, that would have helped me. You beat me on tactics with a 6 minute advantage which was enough to earn you the 1-0 victory so i have no complaints but I'm puzzled as to why the performance stats were so low.
My training has possibly been a bit monotonous because I'm working on 2 particular things that I want to improve and although the match commentary mentions this I've always thought those commentaries were just for a laugh but maybe a boring training session does lead to poor performance?
Oh well, wel done mate. I could really have used some luck as you had the better set up .

The difference in secondary stats (your players at a glance seem a lot higher) made me think I'd need a much higher tactical advantage than that. I'm suprised by that to be honest, it does leave the title wide open though!

Half way through the season guys and its a pretty tight foughtcontest not much seperating anything from 1-7. Really looking forward to the back end of the season, fingers crossed I can upset the odds. ;)

Looking good Herbie. Personally I think anybody outside the current top 3 will struggle to win it this season but you never know. Looking down a division I see that a very strong Legendary Lowes A will be promoted and looking spoil all of our Christmases next season.

Conference 4 is my main target for this season now. I've got a Gold League that I have a big lead in which would be nice to win but really, I've had too many daytime lapses in concentration which has left me with no chance in the Friendly League and I crashed out of the Inter Conference Cup without even setting up. Losing in The Elite Cup last night was a blow because winning that is top of my wish list. Other than that Gold League I will probably end up with nothing this season which is not good for a squad at this stage of development. I also failed to make a proper bid for an ideal replacement player in the transfer market last night . Not good.

In my opinion now that pretty much hands Floriana the title, 7 points clear with 7 games to go.. Should be easy right?
I somehow find myself in a 3 way battle for 2nd place with David and Herbie, unsure how I clawed my way up there. That being said I seem to have scored the most and conceded the least in the division which could help me near the end if it gets any closer. I definitely have the tougher run in and also play DVG in a few days.
My aim was Top 6 but I'd take top 4!
Shame Delboy wasn't around this season.

I'm back now guys. I went away for 6 days golfing in Spain. I set up tactics for alll my matches before i went and set the holiday mode so I was hoping to see dome decent results when i got back but just starting to look at them now and it looks like there have been a lot of heavy defeats. Maybe people worked out I was away? That assistant manger must be really bad. I'll be fighting for a top 4 place though.

I haven't looked at it closely yet but at a quick glance i think that the Holiday Mode, assistant manger put players in the wrong substitute slots on the bench.. so then when my pre arranged tactics and early substitutions kicked in i ended up with players out of position and it was badly out of position sometimes e.g. goalies as outfield players.
I should have anticipated that and not combined holiday mode with early substitutions.

I am very surprised with how solid my defence has been. Only 13 goals conceded...
I have used 2-5-3 all season and conceding so little with only 2 defenders just goes to show that this formation is strong and useful.

Brilliant win last night Cobra, and a good fought draw David. This season has been pretty competitve the whole season through, I reckon I'll miss out on GD but as the season pans out I've not done enough. :)

Congratulations to Antony. Floriana show they are the team to beat in Conference 4 and that quality is permanent. Well done.
Great performance this season by all of our new members too. the league has been shaken up, for sure.
West End GirlsRobbos Reds, Aten warriors and Surreal Madrid are to good for positions 10-12 but with Mr C, Herbie, Steven Murray and SLB Aguias all establishing themselves in the Top 8, ( Herbie in the Top 4) something had to give.
There wasn't much of a battle at the relegation end of the table this season. Delboy and Romasexuals didnt compete and went down which eased the pressure on other teams. Its unthinkable to me that either Aten Warriors or Surreal Madrid could have been relegated but that would have been the case with a competitive Del.
The Legendary Lowes A have been promoted to join us next season. Welcome Icky and good luck. That will add to the pressure.
Hopefully Delboy will come back. Maybe he will need to spend a season in the second ( or maybe he wants that so he can have a crack at the CS the following season :p Only kidding Del)
Looking forward to next season and the run up to Christmas. Who will keep their focus to challenge Antony? Parties, alcohol and hangovers may all play a part in true sunday league spirit. :)

Delboy has returned and has moved back into the division by taking the place of one of the promoted computer teams. Great stuff. Will be a cracking season.
The only sad note is that the promoted The Legendary Lowes A have chickened out and decided to play in a different league. They are not the first to wilt at the challenge of Conf 4 but it is a pity.
Come on boys. Let's do our best in the UCB and good luck to all Conf 4 players involved in champions league, elite cup etc and friendly leagues. Lets give ourselves more reasons to celebrate at Christmas. :)

Sorry about my disappearance act last season guys, I didn't log on for a couple of days to try and refresh myself but it ended up making me not want to play. 6 or so seasons of trying to build a decent side took it out of me lol I can feel the bug coming back now though and really looking forward to the new season. Especially with Junior looking to improve the game 8)

Both teams results from Day 1 couldn't have been further away from each other a 5-0 Win for OCO paired with a 1-4 defeat by Aten.
Aten used to be one of those annoying teams last season but perhaps have lost their way even though they beat me in a PL today.

That was a very hurtful 0-1 defeat last night vs DVG!! and with 45-15min TA in my favour! I feel I should've earned at least a point there!
Delboy will be loving this as that result paired with his own 3-0 win leaves him unbeaten still, 5 points clear of myself and only 9 games to go...
The OCO will still fight to the bitter end and looking at the final 9 games I see a glimmer of hope for myself!

In a way I have suprised myself with my performances sometimes & there are games where if my team were 1 or 2 seasons older I know they may have gone differently but that is why I enjoy SL!
Regarding tactics I do put a lot of thought and research into them which I enjoy doing.

Herbie messaged me before Christmas to let me know he was struggling to commit time to the game due to issues he needs to get through. He's a great bloke and proved himself to be good manager. He was in the top 4 last season and part of our UCB team.Hopefully he will be back. Nothing to do with any issues to do with the game.

Hi guys, going to try and get back into it. I've messaged Joe and if he sees I'm back I'll set up my tactics tonight. If not I'm not going to set them, I feel it might be sneaky.
As David said I've been having a pretty bad time of late and things have gotten worse, but I'm sure things will be back to normal, hopefully I can pull the team out of this mess. ;D

I lost the CL final in a great match with Suoer Imps in the afternoon, too. So , nothing left to play for now. Will start to plan for next season.

Monday & Thurs will be the 2 game days which will decide where the 4-1-1 title goes.
Me v MMF Monday and on Thursday I play a CPU team whilst Dave and Del play eachother so I will gain 3 points on one of them.

To be honest I have tried it and won't go back from 2-5-3 with this team as I think it suits the players I have got.
It's a formation that can win well but also get hammered!
I had to alter my squad slightly and made sure I have 5 strikers and a few more midfielders and go a bit lighter on defenders but making sure I had some anysiders spread about the team.
Having said that I think I finally have the balance for this team.
The formation seems to work in all playing styles even Use Wings I have nabbed a few late goals when changing to it.
I did similar with my reserves but currently playing 5-2-3 in all weathers at the moment as I have a really good non anyside central defender who wasn't playing so I thought id give it ago.

I'll keep trying guys. Interesting discussion about formations. I'd like to change mine but I've built for a 451. Anything that uses more than one striker up front seems to need a R and L striker or they seem to get penalised. I have 3 C strikers which lets me have a top class sub and one in development. I also worry about vulnerability to a 523 if go with just 2 defenders. Would like to hear more but the wife is calling me .

Given the fact he's made no attempt at tactics other than against me to deliberately injure my players I'd say this character has a bit of an obsession with me. And it looks like he joined the division purely to try and mess my season up.
Which says a lot about this sad mentally ill individual. ::)

Its a shame that happens. Luckily no impact on the season so whoever it was has just wasted his time and can feel bad about it too.
He got 6 red cards against me the first time we played this season but only injured one of my players. In the second game I actually had a higher aggression level than he did.

There is a manager in 611 and another in 711 who always plays psycho against me and always puts three or four of my players out of action for anything up to twelve weeks. :) 8) :)

He did Psycho agression against me earlier in the season although it was a nutter ref.

4-1-1 MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
Is this the day Delboy all but clinches the title at home to his nearest challengers Ocean City Orioles?
A win for MMF would take them 8 Points clear with only 3 games remaining.
A draw would keep us all guessing with Delboy's following 2 fixtures about as unpredictable as Arsenal's current form!
An away win for the OCO would haul them within 2 points of top spot. Then it could be squeaky bum time and go down to the wire (Aguerooo style)
Delboy is still looking to do a City and go unbeat..oh wait they're not anymore!
All these different permutations are interesting, Who's your money on?
I didn't expect to stay in the race this long let alone top 4. Next season is set to be a corker if this is anything to go by!

Unlucky last night Dan, was a tight game mate, reckon if your team stats were a bit higher you probably would have took it. An 88th minute goal from Mighty Mouse saved the day!
A bit of breathing space for the last 3 games but 2 of tho's are going to be tough!

I am happy with being unbeaten against Delboy & Ant in all 4 games against them this season.
Seems Robbos Reds were my bogey team with 2 x 1-1 Draws this season just couldn't beat them!

Thanks Delboy, I’ll be looking forward to joining you all next season...and dreading it, as the team hasn’t got any depth beyond the starting 11, so when injuries and AWOLS catch up with me I will be a bit exposed, I’m not expecting a title fight next season though, may be aiming for a ICC spot with some luck, but I’ll be happy to stay in the division otherwise as it looks really tough here.

I didnt manage to disrupt Del's unbeaten record last night, going down 1-0 , and thats probably the way it should be. To me, the league was won unbeaten wit 2 games to go and the dead rubbers at the end do not count but it didnt matter anyway because despite my best efforts I was tactically out thought.

Thats vey impressive Dan. All 14 of the teams who were competitively managed in the top division this season plus Shell Shock who will be a big team next season. I wonder if we could get Standard Liege or Team MajaJay Georgia to join us? Two great teams from the past but maybe not so actively managed this season.
If it not to be one of those two and nobody comes forward from a lower division would you consider inviting a highly respected manager form one of the other conferences as an honorary guest to see if they could take on the challenge of beating the best that Conf 4 has to offer.? Imagine the shame for us if they won it and the glory for them ! It would be a great challenge for somebody and add a tone of extra spice. You could select the honoured guest to invite or we could privately message you and you invite whoever receive the most nominations. I don't think it should be somebody who already manages a Conf 4 team . What do you think? :)

Yep was surprised when I looked at the match report Alex, you had me for the vast majority of that match.
I know some people say the three subs thing doesn't work but imo it 100% makes a difference. I tried chopping to and from it for a while and did notice a big difference mate.
That's the only conclusion I can draw from that one :o

The main thing I noticed was from the 55th minute onwards when Wolfberry got their left back injured a Centre Back non anyside went into the left back slot (Out of position).
Most likely the reason for the 3rd goal and maybe the end result?

I quite fancy Ant in the cups. Delboy is monotonusly good in the league but Ant seems to get out the special magic in the cup games. He won the Elite Cup this season and although he had an easy run in that ( Winter Milan, Me and both of Big Deal Dave's teams) my money is on Floriana for the Conf 4 Cup.

But seriously, I've always been more of a league guy, including PL's as well. I tend to be more consistent than pulling out results in the big cup matches.

Last night was top half of the table versus bottom half of the table. That doesn't mean anything can be taken for granted though, but with the top half all having home advantage thats the way the games went.
Tonight the top half play each other and the bottom half play each other, I agree something will give.
I was happy to win my Interconference Cup game against Chris ( I'm a blade) who is also manager of Kickstart who I played last night as well . That was my initiial focus and Conf 4 Cup game against Floriana which could always have gone either way. I was pleased to get through that, and, if i'm honest, didnt cry to see Delboy go out to SLB Aguias who are going to be very tough opponents this season.

Not too sure whats up with my team at the moment. I appreciate Notts County are a more than decent team, but I didn't give him much TA (less than a minute) and managed to get thumped 4-1. I appreciate his team is better than mine, but it's hardly like mine are rubbish!

Herbie, Gelling is really important. Looking at your fixture list you didn't play many private leagues in the close season. This probably means your gelling will be really low and at the start of the season that makes it very tough against teams who have had plenty of pre season warm up games.

Maybe switching to 5-2-3 in all weathers could have somewhat effected it.
Shame about the 2-2 last night. Possibly could of held on if my Main Striker didn’t get a broken arm and had to play the last half hour with 10 men having made all 3 subs at the start.
It’s a risk most of us take but there is a long way to go 8)

No complaints as I've deserved to lose the matches I did. Thankfully the Farts seem to be doing the business in PL's at the moment, which softens the blow of a so far terrible season in 4-1-1.
Dave looking really strong this season and Ant also doing well in both the league and PL's.
I'm just going to keep plucking away and hoping you guy's fall apart at some point this season ;D
Regardless though it will be another fun season in the toughest X-1-1 in the game 8)

A long way to go yet Del. Any of the current top 8 could win this. SLB in 9th also have a chance but it would be hard for them with so many good teams above.
Tonight will se the scene for the next few weeks I think. The top 4 are all playing each other. If me and Ant win a bit of a gap will open up. You and Mr C also have very tough games tonight against Notts County and SLB so I think its a big night.
I bet the newcomers , Shellshock and St Francis, are enjoying this league and Herbie is just managing to hold them off at the moment.
I won the Conf 4 cup a couple of days ago .. just thought I would mention it, lol 8) SLB were unlucky. I just scraped it in extra time and even that was after i resorted to kicking them off the pitch for the last 30 minutes .

The results went my way last night with Ant and Deca playing out a draw to take points off each other and me overcoming Aten Warriors. Delboy snuck in a useful win of himself though and Notts County continue to do well. Despite the resulting 7 point gap its impossible for the Stars to feel comfortable after only 8 games and I suspect the table will look different at the half way stage .
Looking at the relegation fight, Shell Shock lived up to their name with a victory over the West End Girls ( who had beaten Del last time out). and Wolfberry showed their class with a convincing win over MayaJay. Those results probably leave St Francis feeling a little uncomfortable at the moment and now would be a good time for them to start praying .

After my terrible start to the season, I’ve now lost 1 in 6 and started picking up some momentum.
Hopefully it continues for a while longer yet, to help me in my relegation battle :)

I hope I don't spoil what promised to be a cracking season, at the top and the bottom, lol. Cheers Shelly. Big night tonight amongst the top 4 with me playing v Antony. and Steven M's Notts County taking on Aten Warriors.. I'd like to see wins for me and Aten , of course, but if it goes the other way then everything closes up a little between me Steven and Antony and puts Deca, Mr C and Delboy closer to a 4th spot as well.
Lower down, I'm assuming there will be no shock and you will beat Mayajay and that will really put the pressure on three teams that I still can't believe are fighting to avoid the 4th relegation spot ( there but for the grace of..etc ) Robos Reds, Kickstart and Wolfberry. Wolfberry probably need the points more than Robbo when they play each other tonight.. a loss for them and wins for the others would mean they trail safety by 4 points. Kickstart don't have an easy game against the West End chicks though.

Luckily I had a straight forward game last night for once.

I've had very few injuries this season. My best defender has been out for the last 6 games or so but other than that, nothing too bad.
I think Del may be taking the opportunity to have a rest prior to next season judging by his results these past 2 days. I can understand that as its a relentless task trying to win anything major on here.

Well i am back from my foreign trip without too much damage. I set up my tactics for the key games before i went and just did minimal maintenance, like logging in and making sure i had eleven players on the pitch and it seemed to work. The one day I couldn't log in because I was in the air, I was playing Deca, but I got very lucky as the game froze and no matches were played. I was puzzling for a while trying to work out what had happened because there was no mention of it on here and I was sure the game should have been played ...but that was a stroke of luck :)
I could let it slip but I will be trying not to. 8) Two tough games at the end of the season end. Notts County and Floriana . So, in some ways I only hold a 2 point lead. :-\ I'd like to have finished it before I play those matches.

SLB Aguias are a good team Shelly. Looks like they will make it into FL1 next season. So no shame in a draw there, for sure, but I can see there is a close battle developing between you two for a top 8 position and place in the ICC next season. All good stuff.

Yeah, I agree DVG he’s a strong side, and I will take a draw all week against him. I’m just getting frustrated of 5 draws in a row, it’s like I’ve become the king of parking the bus which isn’t my intention.
Still a 9 game and a 8 game unbeaten run in the league now, which I’m very happy about, considering I feel my team is one of the weakest in the conference and probably over-achieving right now.
I see you’re still holding your unbeaten record, I wouldn’t mind a chance to try and take that towards the end of the season ;)

Congratulations to Floriana and SLB Aguias . Confirmed winners of FL1 and FL2 today. Great season guys. Floriana also won the Gold league and is level on points with Borg with one game to go in the "pre-season" gold. Fantastic performance by Ant so far and still the Inter Conference Cup Final and Elite Cup semi final to come.
You might like to hang up your boots and have an extended inter-seson after all that mate. Must be satisfied with that lot. I'd play your reserves in 411 if i was you. :P

Annoyingly that stupid rollback done me over, the tactics I had selected went back to the previous default tactics for the afternoon game for some reason and SLB Aguias must have realised to let me have 0 mins of tactical advantage lol. Otherwise the heat could have been really on!

Its helluva battle for that 4th place with Deca and Mr C fighting it out with you, Steve. None of you play each other, Deca and Mr C have what should be a walk over v Del, and you have a game against Standard Liege which you should win, and there are no other easy games. Could go any way.
I see, since my last post that Ant went on to add the other Gold league, won the ICC and is now in the final of the Elite Cup.( to add to his FL win). Wow!

So unfortunately all of my players who should have decreased after 3 seasons and 6 seasons have decided to decrease at 7 seasons with the club, along with my players who I bought that had 7 seasons left.
This may have seemed like a good idea, but I strategically bought like that so I could replace players at certain points. So in my teams prime I've managed the lofty heights of 4th, 12th and 10th :/

Thoughts after the opening 6 games boys?
I agree with Herbie that we might lose a top team to relegation. Shakhtar Senseless have made a good start and good luck to them that hey keep it up. They have been trying for several seasons, up and down between Div 1 and Dive 2 and to make an impact this year would be just reward.
On that, I see that last seasons newcomers St Francis are winning all of their games in Div2 so hopefully we will see them back next season with a stronger team that can survive in 411. Same thing happened to me in my first season back..I went down and came back up again. The Victors, who are currently turning out to be The Losers with a 100% record should not lose heart..they will be back the season after next if they keep at it.
Mr C is setting the pace at the top, unbeaten, and including useful wins over Deca and Steven . SLB Aguias who I should probably have picked as my dark horse are in second. Antony is in 3rd, having been beaten by Deca and dropped points to Kickstart, but beating me as predicted. I'm in the 4th spot that I hope to keep this year (lost to Antony and dropped points to SLB so far )
It's very early days with just 2 points between the 5 teams chasing Mr C and Deca and Steven will be hoping to break into that top 4.
I'm not confident for my game against Surreal Madrid tonight despite the fact that they only have 1 point so far. The fact that came against Deca worries me. If MR C beats The Grey Hen tonight that could be the start of a mini crises at the bottom for Shelly.
How do you see it going boys? Will this be Mr C's season?

I reckon it will be a close season again I am not counting my lucky stars just yet I still have to play SLB, DVG and Floriana in my next 4 games I think, I will reevaluate my season then.
I personally think my Squad in C3 (Arsenal Invincibles) is stronger than OCO, they seem to come good in the big games even though they are slightly younger in (SWC's)
I actually expected to be near the top in C3 and lower down in C4 but I lye in 8th in C3 but was handed a ridiculous first 6 games to navigate.
Going to be interesting how it all turns out. Just need to extend the lead at the top whilst I have the chance.

Cheeers Mr C. I always think a 2-5-3 is vulnerable to a 5-2-3 longball in the rain but who knows and I will keep watching. Its use offormations like yours that keeps the game interesting.

3 game losing streak dragging me back into were I belong.
Pretty happy with the last two performances, losing 2-1 to DVG and 1-0 to SLB. However, I really need to start picking up points.

I know how you feel Herbie, however I'm quite the opposite, my teams are deservedly losing because I haven't got the tactics right...I've decided to stop studying players and just throw any tactics out now, and see how trying to be "Unpredictable" goes for me...If I get relegated, I get relegated, but may as well try something new since nothing seems to be working for me.
I've been trying to see if the 4-2-4 formation works, to try and counter this 2-5-3 system people use, but I've not had a game yet to beat the tactics with someone playing 2-5-3 yet to see if it works or not, since not many people use this system it's hard to test, and I really need the game to be in long-ball conditions to optimise 4-2-4.

A lot of big games in the conference tonight but my picks of the bunch are:
Wolf berry Tomatoes v Robbos Reds
Very strange to see Robbos Reds in the relegation places after 11 games. I can't imagine that they wont fight back but Herbie is a determined manager and tonight will be a tough test for both . A win for Herbie will put him in a strong position. A win for the Reds will open up a real battle between Herbie, Shakhtar, Shellyboy and Robbos Reds. Not quite a "must win" for Robbos Reds but close as they currently sit 3 points off safety and wont want to see that extended to 6.
Ocean City v Floriana
The joint leaders go head to head tonight. Nothing will be decided but the winner will feel more confident. A draw could see 4 teams sharing the lead. 8)

will be interesting to know how the 424 goes. Wanted to try it, i think I have before back in the day and it was pretty weak to be honest, but alot of formations have come into fruition over the last few years. I see alot of people using 253 these days. And hoarse whisperes using 41311 now too. I will experiment I think with 31312 soon when a decent def med appears on the market.
Nice to see varied formations being used now, instead of the old 451 and 523. I'm using 352 attacking this time arpund see how that goes.

As I had 12 minutes tactical advantage, I can’t really say much on 4-2-4 working or not, I feel the score would have been similar with 4-5-1 If I could off put a midfield out based on DVGs team strength over mine.

I agree that the 424 didn't seem to make much difference when everything else taken into account. I did think about using a 523 because i was a bit concerned about 4 of your attackers going one on one against my defenders but in the end i settled for the more usual midfield dominance given the sunny weather.
I'd like to see a 424in long ball conditions against a 523 or 451 using wings .

The league has basically separated into 2 leagues, between the top and bottom half.
Last night was vital for my season that I got the win, I don't think Herbie was active last night since he played passing in rainy conditions, but either way I'll take it! :o

Unlike Herbie not to participate. Maybe he just messed up. I'm doing it more. I used to use a 451 always and play on the wings when it was wet. Now that I'm transitioning to the use of a couple of wide attackers and giving it a good welly up the field in the rain I keep substituting my central attacker into position 11 instead of 10. Costing me a few points butt a hard habit to break . There are advantages to sticking with 1 formation.

Well the West End Girls did more than hold Floriana last night. They actually won. That keeps it nice and tight for now, although I have a date with them tonight where I feel I need to be on top.

Shelly picked up useful points whilst Shakhtar's good form continued. Herbie could be in a fight with Robbos Reds to avoid that final relegation slot now. Although nobody in the bottom 8 is more than 4 points from safety.

It won't last. My squad is down 3 great players from last season and I have another two coming to their end. I should be fighting for 4th, not 1st. I may have overcommitted myself too because I've just entered the pre season gold and looking at today's fixture list its too long and going to take more time than i have to properly plan and rotate my players for the important league games.

I'm finding it very hard to motivate myself to set up my games at the moment. I don't have much time in the day, often no time, and in the evenings its become a bit of a chore to be honest. i just sat here for 20 minutes wondering how to play tonight in the Elite Cup and i've finally decided I can't be bothered. So I'm going to take a bit of a break until I find my enthusiasm and time again. I'll probably be around looking at the transfer market and training my team cos thats the bit I enjoy most and when i do come back i'll be strong hopefully. But for now I'm not going to bother setting up any more matches for a while. Enjoy giving the Stars a good hiding. ;D

Conference 4 is still active but nowhere near as strong as it used to be which I enjoyed more. Winning the league and being 12pts clear with 2 games to play is great but I loved the battles where it goes to the wire.
That being said I will be looking to move to a different X-1-1 in the new season to test my skills against other managers I don’t play often. (Not C3 or C6) of course as I’m happy there.
As we know places are a premium and i’ll be sacrificing my Champions Shield spot.
Rather than give it to some cruddy computer team if anyone wants to swap divisions and give 4-1-1 ago (with a shot at the CS) then let me know on here or PM and we can arrange.

After deciding to take a break with the Stars I realised that if I want them to come back as strong as they were I will need to do some rebuilding so I've taken the axe to my squad and started to replace all players who would be peaking in the next few seasons. ( that hurt a bit because i had put a lot of effort into timing the purchase development of the players so I always had rolling ;D 15 good ones). As a result the Stars are nothing like what they were but they will be back in a few seasons. In the meantime I'm going to drop them down a few leagues so i can develop them and experiment without messing up anybody's season.
I've also got a second team that I have been working on. I think thats partly why i found myself getting frustrated at the time all of this was taking. My fault, I know. I think we have all had moments like that. I remember winning FL2 in Season 64. I ran around the garden cheering get in there. It's occasions like this is why we love the game.

regardless of the outcome this has been my favourite season so far! won fl 3 and in contention for winning the division! gonna be a tough last 4 games so I need to keep switched on but I didn't think I would even get top 4!

it's gonna be a tough division this year as not only was there already some cracking teams in it there's 4 new additions to it! and some top teams in there now!

that's a tough call you have cubana villains, Exeter city, kickstart and yourself who I would say are favourites but you also have a lot of teams of good quality that with a good run can get the top 4 if not even win the league! it's a very hard division to call! what's your thoughts?

I don't know an awful lot about the teams in 4-1-1 so I would have to base my prediction on last season:
1. Rekrap Avengers - I think you could defend the title, 2nd-3rd at worst.
2. Cubana Villains - Deca is an experienced manager who can beat any team, top 4 at worst.
3. Kickstart Utd - looking at past league positions, last seasons 3rd was the best placed finish for 10 seasons - could be one that sustains or drops out the top 4 depending on form.
4. West End Girls - again looking at history, last seasons 4th was the best placed finish for about 12 seasons - 4th is my gut feeling, top 6 at worst.
One to watch:
Exeter City F.C. - I'm not sure which Conference this team came from but think it's managed by Borg? Anyway, history would suggest that this team is capable of challenging for the title! Top 4 candidate.
I can't comment on the others as I am sure I will learn more about each team as the season progresses. I would be happy with a top 8 finish but anything higher would be a bonus :)

The only think I can put it down to is the long ball conditions, him playing 5-2-3 long ball against my 4-5-1 use wings, and my team not the strongest at present, but expected to win no the less

I agree Marv, Deca should have won that game and I have also experienced results where the % of TA I've had against a few opponents has produced outcomes which makes me think there is a bug in the match engine - I hope this isn't this case but it does make you question your set ups...
On the subject of 4-1-1, I recently moved from 3-1-1 and have been really enjoying the challenge. It would be great for you to join us :)

In my opinion, if 2 teams are more or less within 10% - 20% of the same team strength, the team with the most tactical advantage during a match should always win.
unfortunately the sad truth is that there is nobody running the game, apart from the server itself

Deca should’ve deffo won the game. At least 3-0 when taking everything into account. Unfortunately the engine is just unplayable in it’s current state. Doesn’t give a fair representation.
How I’ve gone so clear in 411 is a mystery. Might aswell just stick any old tactics down.

Looking forward to brushing shoulders with you two legends and hopefully spiteri again soon pending a return from him. With us 4 potentially fighting again soon we could potentially have some great battles and create a strong conference to compete in things like ucb 8)
It'll take 1 or 2 more seasons for me to peak but will hopefully fight for a top 4 spot next season! Also lately with me playing with attacking players with bans and injuries I sometimes (like the next few days) have to play players out of position or use strange formations. When my next lot of players decline I will move to a formation which only uses normal players so I don't have to play players in abnormal positions 8)

I lost last night with 60mins advantage over 30mins advantage, 2 very even teams with no team being stronger atall really.
Only things I can think of is "home advantage " and higher aggression. But surely 30 mins extra advantage more than makes up for That?

It looks like nath has changed their team name to Holiday Mode defence and moved to 7-3-4 Northeast Region. Agree, I was gutted to see a last season's champions leave 4-1-1 :(
Although their are 3 computer teams in 4-1-1 their are some very strong teams and great managers in the league. I'm sure you will climb up the table soon Marv 8)

Well, not much has been posted in conference 4 since taking a break from the game :D
I'm starting from scratch due to my original account turning into a computer team :'( However, I'm up for the challenge of a rebuild and my team 'The Pompey Chimes' have been randomly placed in 4-3-3. I should be on course for the title but the BIG question is which league do I move to after this campaign???

It’s good to be back playing the game and seeing some old faces still at it! Hopefully won’t be long till I can start mixing it up with the big boys. No surprise deca’s still the man to beat, although I wasn’t a mile away last night pal ;)

Must say though that Aten Warriors got really ripped off by the match engine yesterday. 60minutes advantage and conceding 3 goals.... that is beyond ridiculous for a team of your stature.

Crikey, three serious injuries in the first 10 days! Two 8 week'ers and a 12 week lay off. What happened to a mild concussion or broken fingers?!

Despite some misgivings, the cup kicks off this Saturday with the tie of the round being one of Brians' CSI franchise taking on my Blue Star in my Knights franchise. CSI will be in 4-1-1 next season, and Blue Star are in their first season. The winner will be looking forward to a decent cup run. Cubana and Poachers take each other on, in a game that sees the current league champion taking on the conferences most active forum user and up and comer. A close game is expected but Cubana will be confident of getting into the semi-finals based on team strength and past form. Aten Warriors take on Kickstart as 3rd takes on 6th in league terms. This should also be an evenly contested game, perhaps an ET goal to decide this one? Dundee Utd host Logan John and will start as favourites, but in a cup game, the underdogs can't be written off!

Straight back in 4-1-1 next season with a fresh squad of players, so will be an interesting experience being one of the lesser teams attribute wise. The transfer market has been a little more busy than I was hoping for too, but I've managed to build a squad I'm almost finished with. Now it's the waiting game from training sessions. I'm aiming for a top half finish this season coming, although it may be too soon.

I reckon I'll need a full season or too to get a few of the important attributes closer to 99 before I could challenge. Although I will do my best to try and be a nuisance to those above me!
