Title: How I hate ignorant selfish people
Post by: Dragontao on May 17, 2013, 06:46:37 PM
Fuckers.

People where I live seem to think it's perfectly okay to block the road when they feel like it. I live in a cul de sac so it's not like there's any other way round.

Come home from work today and there's a van unloading a three peace suite on one side of the road and a woman who lives there is parked on the other side unloading a load of clothes from her car and taking them into the house.

One of the blokes standing by the van looks at me and just shrugs his shoulders. I wait patiently at first. Woman walks back to her car and instead of getting in and moving it, she grabs another load of clothes and starts to walk off with them. By this time the blokes have shut their van and are sitting there, making no effort to move themselves.
Lazy bitch could have parked a bit further on and just walked a bit further with her clothes as well.

Now patience is one thing, admittedly mine does run out very quickly with ignorant twats,  but to my mind that's them saying, yeah we're blocking the road but it will inconvenience us if we move so you can be inconvenienced instead. Guess again fuckers.

My patience runs out and I get out of my car and tell them "I don't care which one of you moves but one of you is moving now". One of the blokes in the van thinks he's being brave by muttering "Fuck off" under his breath.
So now I've lost my patience and he's really pissed me off to boot. He wasn't so brave when I asked him if he'd like to get out and discuss it. They did all move very quickly at that point.

And another thing that really pisses me off is people who walk along texting on their mobile phone and don't look where they're going but expect everyone to get out of their way, or suddenly stop in front of you.

Oh and the same goes for cyclists riding on the pavement who expect people to get out of their way.

 >:( >:( >:(

So what gets your goat?

I hate impatient people.

Today at work I was unloading a three-piece suite into a lady's house. It's Friday and I'm feeling good. Can't wait to get home and see my wife and kids. One of them is very ill, so I've been a bit worried, but I'm keeping strong. Anyway, I'm sitting in the van filling out some necessary paperwork when this guy drives up, gets out of his car and starts threatening me and my colleagues. I had no idea what his problem was, but there was no need to be so aggressive. He told us he wanted us to move while we were in the middle of doing our jobs or else. Personally, I think there was a space that he could have fitted through, but we didn't want any trouble. We moved our van as instructed and he drove past, flipping us off as he went by. Why is there so much anger in the world?

You'd love Sparkhill Road then...90% of the 2 mile stretch is yellow/red lines, but that doesn't stop your local contingent (Mostly Pakistanis/Indians) parking all over them and causing a bottleneck which as least doubles your journey time by what it would be if everyone actually obeyed the blatant parking regulations.

Special mentions to the make-shift furniture skips on the pavement areas that shop owners create and expect someone to clean up after, the horrendous noise pollution from the second biggest mosque in the whole of the UK, the random jaywalking from pedestrians who think they have a given right to cross wherever the fuck they want...and all of this happens whilst locals stop in the middle of the road to chat to someone coming the other way, through each others car windows and holding everyone up.

Honeslty, if I had a nuke, I'd unleash on Sparkhill.

I hate it when you phone or are called by generally financial institutions, Banks, Insurance companies, etc, and you have to give your life history to talk to someone..........name, address, post code, DOB, mothers maiden name, password, etc etc.   Then after 10 minutes the cretin you are talking too can't help, and needs to transfer you to another dept.....then you spend the next 5 minutes giving your, name, address, post code, DOB, mothers maiden name, password, names of the family pet, what direct debits do you have, etc etc, only to be told you are speaking to the wrong dept, and they need to pass you on to another dept......does my head in big time.

This has just reminded me, of a time when I was seriously ill and had to claim incapacity benefit for about a year, no work, wife and 5 kids to support, and the fuckers at social/dss or whatever poncey name it is now called, sent me from dept to dept for weeks untill we got any money......or that's how it felt.

I can't stand dog owners that don't pick up their dogs's shite. There's someone that keeps leaving their dogs' mess in my street every now and then. At some point I'm going to catch him at it and follow him home afterwards. Once I know where he lives I'm going to go back to my street, pick up the dog shite in a carrier bag and dump it from the bag onto his doorstep. >:(

I can't stand people that walk slowly. Drives me mental, especially if there's more than one of them so that you can't walk past them without stepping into the road.

Fat people taking up more than one seat on buses, tubes and trains. If they're stopping a normal person from being able to sit down they should pay twice as much.

And I've left the most annoying thing until last - fuckers spitting in the fucking street. Fucking disgusting cunts. TB was completely irradicated from this country 15 or 20 years ago. Rather than having the police waste time and money persecuting motorists they need to concentrate on giving these filthy animals huge on the spot fines. I sometimes wish I had a shooter, a bullet in the brain is what these cunts need.

Couldn't have got a push bike through it.

Yes Ross, I can totally see your point and in any other area the council and police would be doing something about it - guaranteed. Not allowed to upset certain people though are we eh!

Oh and the same goes for cyclists riding on the pavement who expect people to get out of their way.

The main reason why cyclists use the pavement though is because of stupid motorists who do everything in their power to piss them off and put them off riding on the road... speeding past them, revving their engines behind them, cutting them up at junctions/roundabouts, making crazy overtaking movements just to pass them, is it worth taking the risk cycling on the road?

There are good cyclists and bad cyclists. Those cyclists who ride on the pavement and expect pedestrians to move out of the way are hypocrites who are no better than the motorists they slag off.

While a lot of motorists are twats when it comes to cyclists, a third of accidents are caused by cyclists. They are not the saints the cycling fraternity would have you believe.

One decided to pull out of a junction right in front of me this morning, not a left hand turn out of the junction, but right across me turning right out of a junction, cyucled along the white line in the middle of the road for a few seconds, narrowly avoiding the car in front of me and then forcing me to slam my brakes on. Luckily I was going slow and actually look out for cyclists or he'd have been toast.

Coming back from the Chelsea Spurs game, driving through Fulham and across Putney bridge, more than 50% of cyclists did not have lights on, one of whom was busy on his mobile when he pulled out in front of a car. Hardly any of them were wearing protective helmets or hi-vis.

Add that to the fact all of the measures being put in place such as cycle lanes, Boris' new roundabouts he wants to intouduce in London which give priority and right of way to cyclists, yet they don't pay a penny towards this in road tax and don't have to have insurance. Not to mention not having to have any compulsory test which teaches them the highway code (which probably accounts for the large number who don't know that they should give way at a junction or stop at red lights!).

So yes, I agree that there are a lot of motorists who are morons when it comes to how they view cyclists (and motor cylists) but there are a large number on two wheels who don't have a clue.

It's still happening. Insurers just aren't coming out and saying it's because of gender.

Nephew applied for car insurance from a number of insurers and one of his mum's (my sister) friends daughters got quoted up to £1000 less by all of them, despite him having had his license longer and having a years no claims already while she was a new driver. A couple of them claimed it was due to the post code, despite living in a bettter area than the girl. So he changed a few of his details, including gender, put in for quotes and got lower quotes from at least 50% of them. When he complained they all came up with reasons and the insurance onbudsman did nothing.

This article on the antagonism between cyclists and motorists.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22614569 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22614569)

The thing that concerns me the most, the calls for this call by cycling campaigners to have this "strict liability law" in Scotland, which no doubt they'd want in England as well.

Quote
Cycling campaigners are calling for a new law in Scotland to make motorists automatically at fault in an accident. The UK is one of only five European countries - Cyprus, Malta, Romania and Ireland being the others - that does not currently have the "strict liability" law.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty. Any accident should be investigated and whoever the guilty party is, they should be punished accordingly.

Cyclists ashould also have to have some form of mandatory proficiency test, which includes a test on the highway code. They should also have to have some form of insurance as well. The insurance premium tax from that can be put towards the changes to road systems that benefit cyclists, instead of motorists picking up the tab for that.

And no, I'm not automatically on the side of the motorist. As I said, there are far too many who don;t take proper care where cyclists are concerned. I might be inclined to cycle myself if the roads were safer, but that's not to say that bad cycling should be ignored the way it is now.

Facepalm

I said don't get me started on women drivers, especially women drivers in 4x4's lol. That stupid neurotic bitch shouldn't be on the road. Seriously though, idiots like that don't give a damn about any other road users, motorists or cyclists. She could easily have kept to the left enough to let the cyclist pass but there's no thought for anyone but herself.

Looking at the road, it doesn't look to be suitable for two way traffic down it's length or should at least have no parking whatsoever.

As long as cyclists/motorcyclists are riding sensibly, if you're stuck in traffic, I don't see the problem of letting them pass. Not letting them isn't going to speed up the motorist's journey any more. But then some motorists are like that to other motorists as well. YOu'll be driving along the motorway, go to overtake a slow moving car. All of a sudden they put their foot down. What's that all about. Some people get behind a wheel of a car and their personality changes and their brains just switch off.

How many times do have any of you been waiting to pull out of a junction or turn right into a junction, and a car that could have let you go doesn't, even though it doesn't make a second of difference to their journey time at the end of the day because they will still be behind the car they were behind before.

Oh and from the cyclists point of view I can imagine this is a real bug bear, and it's something that idiots do, zoom past a cyclist and then turn left into a junction, cutting the cyclist up, when all they had to do was wait about 3 seconds.

Bad motorists and bad cyclists all fall into the category of stupid ingorant people and they make it bad for everyone.

I should also make a distinction between the communter type cyclists, who usually obey most of the highway code (though a large percentage are colour blind at traffic lights and appear unable to spot give way signs at junctions). The ones I spot riding on pavements, it has to be said, are the chavvy type, with no protective gear, mobile phone in hand and probably off down the social or to meet their dealer.

I only cycle in the summer months when the weathers not that bad, so I dont cycle all the time but I've had this happen to me a few times, in fact, someone cut me up so much I was literally millimeteres away from hitting the side of their car... its not annoying as it doesnt happen that often... its just plain dangerous as the cyclist can only see whats going on when the car pulls in front of them.

No.. what happens more often that not.. is that people just dont bother giving way at roundabouts and junctions.. they will give way to cars (except learners - lol).. as soon as they see a cyclist there though they instantly pull out because they dont want to get stuck behind them.. I was at a mini-ish roundabout about a month ago.. I was giving way to traffic coming from my right.. as soon as it was clear, I started to pull out.. this woman (who was coming from the left - so should of given way to me) had also pulled out at the same time.. so I stopped, but she also stopped because I assume she had seen me pull out, so I tried to go again and so did she (at the same time), and we both stopped again, so Im waiting this time and gesture to her to just go as Im in the middle of the road at this point... so drives past and shouts out that I "shouldnt be allowed on the road" ?? lol

Other bugbears are people who move over to the kerb (when stopping) just so you cant get past without using the pavement - it happens more than you think!!!
People who wont overtake you at all.. even though a tank could quite easily get past you.
People who overtake you when there is not a lot of space to overtake you.
People who overtake you and then rev their engines hard - as if you've held them up for an eternity.
Pedestrians that think they are allowed to walk in a cycle lane (not that theres many in Reading).
Buses - I hate buses more than ever now... some bus drivers are so thick they dont realise that cyclists can use most of the bus lanes too.

People who wont overtake you at all.. even though a tank could quite easily get past you.  Trust me, they irritate the drivers stuck behind them too.
People who overtake you when there is not a lot of space to overtake you.  They try that with other cars too.
People who overtake you and then rev their engines hard - as if you've held them up for an eternity. They just tailgate other motorists, thinking that if they sit on our tails we will a) go faster or b) move over, when a) there's other traffic in front so we can't go faster or b) there's no where to move over to
Pedestrians that think they are allowed to walk in a cycle lane (not that theres many in Reading). Well some cycle lanes are stupidly dual use but sometimes they are probably walking in a cycle lane to avoid the chav cyclists riding on the pavement ;-p
Buses - I hate buses more than ever now... some bus drivers are so thick they dont realise that cyclists can use most of the bus lanes too. Yeah, but think the highway code doesn't apply to them, just like taxis. I laugh at those signs on buses that say "please let buses pull out (it's even a law now isn't it?) they should add "or we fucking will anyway"
Oh and I fucking hate drivers who don't indicate.

Well it's not called twitter for nothing.

Changing her story now to say she didn't actually knock him off the bike and that he was in the wrong, but it's a bit late for that as she basically admitted it on her Twitter account. Stupid cow.

Not only that but the dozy bitch doesnt know the difference between road tax and vehicle tax.. theres no relationship whatsoever between vehicle tax and the money the government use on upkeep, improvement and building of roads - then the fact that loads of cyclists own motor vehicles too - the silly bitch deserves everything she gets from here on out.

Another thing that pisses me off on the road is when people press the button for the zebra crossings.. and then cross before the green man appears.

Either a) dont press it and cross when safe.. or b) press it and fucking wait!!  >:(
