I have started preparing the UCB and I'm planning on going with the teams entered last season. I will post them up again in case you want to make changes or if some of the entered teams are no longer willing to participate. I would appreciate it if the teams involved could indicate if they're still willing to enter. I apologize for taking so long to organize this, but it's quite a hectic summer for me. :-[

The quartet is usally derived from the top conference, and usually the top 4 places secure the spots. So i imagine it would be
1. Malon Prime
2. Roman Empire
3. Casadians
4 Liverwood Luddites (i think)
But i guess its open to suggestion and or change.

Normally you would pick a Captain (usually the winner of the previous season) and he/she could pick the 3 other teams to form the UCB quartet.
Jimbo it's improbable that they pick any team that's outside x-1-1 but it has happened before. I checked your team though and I wouldn't recommend you enter, because your stats are still a bit low to play x-1-1 teams. You should be ready in 2 seasons time though ;)

I would love to jump straight into 5-1-1 but I am one of those managers who likes to earn their place into higher leagues, qualifying for cups etc.
I hope to get there soon though and thanks for suggesting this possibile move to me :)

Hey Jimbo, glad to see your bringing some chatter to C5, just a thought but if you would like a challenge then possibly round up 4 teams from your conf and I'm sure I can get 4 from our C8, and was thinking more of the talkative ones, eg Martin, Northstar, and maybe iwopp or neasden and we can have a quick league. It looks like it would be fairly even given the arrival of Mihai and casadians form. What you think?

although C7 is quite challenging at the moment, I've been in the most competitive conference of all - C2, no other conference is more challenging than C2 - no upset to the others conferences ...
I will stick to C5 for a while ... as I'm kind of involved in major project and it takes all my time ...

I've been watching your sched and it looks like its gonna be super tough for me to catch you on goal difference although im keeping pace quite well, i still have to play kush a couple times with his allstars >:( good luck for the remainder of the season.

It's too soon to say anything about the manager of the season ...
Super Imps is having a great run in FL1 and Brads dominates C2 .. and IC, EC and CS are not finished yet.
You're having a great team, looking at your players' stats you should be higher in C8 and FL1 ... hope you succeed to stay up ... good luck !

| didn't expect to get so much injuries and it was my fault to put an injury substitute on the bench ... match engine did it to me on purpose ... not letting me the chance to win all the games ;)

you made a mistake ... you had 2 players out of position... you played 2 MID(C) in 5-2-3 formation, you should have used one MID (R) and one MID (L) ... if you look at the match report you can see that those 2 players have smaller ratings than the others ... if you would have done this you would have won the game and probably the conference ...
sorry mate! Match engine penalise the most formations with players out of position ..

Thanks mate! it was a fantastic battle till the end. when I lost to Super Imps I thought: that's it ... it ended ... but Richard made 3 wrong steps in his last three games and I succeed to win the title.
As for the Championship Shield final, I will meet Ty Jones' - one of the greatest managers in Sunday league (just look at Corinthian Clowns and Ravens of England history page and you will know what I mean) - he will not make it easy for me.
hope we can avoid the wooden spoon in the UCB, allthough George is retiring from Roman Empire Reserve and I made a bad choice choosing Attack Attack Consolidated instead of Bolton, Real Madrid or Liwerwood Luddites.
Aaaa, I've forgott: Congratulations for winning FL3 and I wish you all the luck in FL2 next season and hopefully a new promotion.

I'm in 5-1-2, I think it was fate that we came over to sl1 from sl2 and will be competing in the same division next season. My team needs some work, but will be aiming for promotion ;D

not fairplay from dragontao (aka Tony G, aka Bolton on Wonder Bras - now unmanaged) for setting up his agression to PSYCHO.
I know he is upset with CatGames and I understand why, but that's no reason to let the team to PSYCHO ... this is very disrespectful for the other managers (they didn't do anything to him) ... and a lack of fair play ... :( :(

Yep, been like that from day 1 of the season actually you can see in his fixture list the time he became upset with the game.
He has been posting on the forum after the start of the new season so it's not as if he's been "away" from the game, meaning he would have had the oppotunity to change his tactics..

I got 4 injuries against him Mihai but won by about 30 goals. So at least I have a decent goal difference.
Very tough conference this season, did not expect to be 4th approaching the half way mark. Think it'll go down to the wire ::)

He seemed a nice fellow until last season ... with all those rollbacks ... I think they got into him ... I understand why ... but there is no reason to revenge to others ...

Can I just say that it wasn't deliberately on psycho and has been changed now. The tactics you see now will remain until the end of the season. No surprises, no advanced tactics and agression set to normal.
I set up the team to lose miserably every week, the psycho tactics were an accident because of setting up the tactics on my phone. The tactics had not been looked at from some point pre-season during a private league and certainly not during the current season until the past few days. I may have been seen online few times because the browser on my phone, for some strange reason, has retained my SL settings and logs me into the game every time I start the browser. I've logged on from my PC from time to time to check if I had any PMs but have been uninterested in results.
I saw this thread a few days ago, but by and large have been too busy with other things to post an answer. I have other fish to fry at the moment. Unfortunately I have a sick animal and £1000's in vet bills to think about (the pills alone cost £60 per tablet) and a scumbag drug dealer who has recently been released from jail for GBH, who took it upon himself to smash my nephew's face in with a crow bar to steal his phone, to find (The police won't give me or my brother-in-law his name as they've released him on police bail until September and would like him to make it to court). So SL has been low on my list of priorities.
I thought I'd leave it until the half way point of the season to change tactics so everyone had the same conditions against them. I did change a few things in team selection when I was messing about a few days past which may not have had the desired effect and resulted in a couple of walkovers. Can I just say that it wasn't deliberately on psycho and has been changed now. The tactics you see now will remain until the end of the season. No surprises, no advanced tactics and agression set to normal.
I set up the team to lose miserably every week, the psycho tactics were an accident because of setting up the tactics on my phone. The tactics had not been looked at from some point pre-season during a private league and certainly not during the current season until the past few days. I may have been seen online few times because the browser on my phone, for some strange reason, has retained my SL settings and logs me into the game every time I start the browser. I've logged on from my PC from time to time to check if I had any PMs but have been uninterested in results.
I saw this thread a few days ago, but by and large have been too busy with other things to post an answer. I have other fish to fry at the moment. Unfortunately I have a sick animal and £1000's in vet bills to think about (the pills alone cost £60 per tablet) and a scumbag drug dealer who has recently been released from jail for GBH, who took it upon himself to smash my nephew's face in with a crow bar to steal his phone, to find (The police won't give me or my brother-in-law his name as they've released him on police bail until September and would like him to make it to court). So SL has been low on my list of priorities.
I thought I'd leave it until the half way point of the season to change tactics so everyone had the same conditions against them. I did change a few things in team selection when I was messing about a few days past which may not have had the desired effect and resulted in a couple of walkovers. I'm sorry if anyone was affected badly by injuries, the match engine was one of my pet hates where injuries are concerned.
Nephew's pretty banged up, lots of stitches, broken teeth. Scared to leave his house because this scumbag is on bail and apparently the type to want revenge because my nephew had the audacity to report after being taken to hospital.
Unlikely I'd have time to come back to the game, even if I felt inclined to. Though I'll probably keep logging in from time to time to keep the account alive (my phone doesn't appear to want to let go).

Things still rolling along I see, with some "minor" glitches in the game still bugging people . Good luck to all for the season ahead.
Have sort of started semi-managing my team again but won't be very competetive. Figured I might as well use the credits up. It may only be this week as I'm off work to sort out an application for a PhD (well an engineering doctorate to be precise). Don't think I'll get it but if someone wants to pay £20000 a year (tax free) plus uni fees and expenses for me to avoid work - great. Of course the only reason I really want a doctorate is so I can use the chat up line "trust me I'm a doctor", might not mention that if I get an interview.
There are still other things that need my attention. Speaking of such, the scumbag who assaulted my nephew commited another assault not long after that, and after being questioned for that one, seriously assaulted and robbed someone else, smashing them in the head with a snooker ball in a sock (he always seems to pick on youngsters and always has help). Turns out the blokes only 21 - he must have had an uphill paper route that took in Mount Everest as he looks older than me.
When they had evidence that he was responsible for the serious assault and eventually arrested him for that, he escaped from police custody at 3 a.m in the morning and still had time to assault someone else the next day before being re-arrested. Seriously, they put dogs down for biting people, we should be eradicating this kind of scum from society. We may have to wait a while for karma to weave her bitchy magic as, even with our soft justice system, he must be going down for a reasonable spell.
Vets bills are up to just under £2000 now, but seems to be money well spent.

My attempts to lose every game last season backfired on me. Set up my team for last night but forgot to change the default advanced tactics I'd set.
So when I changed my tactics at kickoff (hadn't bothered with advanced tactics so far), I managed to make three substitutions, including a centre half for my keeper, instead of the ones I set up for later in the game. Doh! ;D ;D ;D

Don't underestimate 2-5-3, mate. It's not by any means a poor formation to use in Longball, I used it with a lot of success last season. In fact, against weaker teams you might be better off with it than with 5-2-3, given the fact that you get to use most of your powerful players -- your midfielders (and to some extent your strikers)! A 5-2-3 Longball mirror last night probably would have resulted in a draw.

please note...
due to an unexpected win in the Elite cup last night i am obviously still going to be in 5-1-1 until this run comes to an end. i will be setting up my team as normal but will not be changing advanced tacts. this is to make it a fair comp in the second half of the season for all who play against Northern lights. to see the advanced set up check the game against Corinthian clowns on Monday.

i have been playing with a squad of 14 players that their stats were not on the decline this season and never thought i would go all the way. After a schoolboy error on Friday evening leaving the team on nice rest and waking upto 4 AWOLs on the eve of the final. I had to take a chance of hoping that i would win a str (c) in the transfer market as i had an old defender in the forward position to exchange. i did win him and guess what... scored the winner lol :D

Longer serving managers battling each day at the top end of the server consider the Gold Cups / Leagues a priority over unofficial competitions and I can see where they are coming from as these wins appear on the team's history page whereas the unofficial ones don't.

Jeez what is happening in 511 this season. Were all so inconsistent.
I’ve dropped more points this season than I have in the previous 10. I just can’t seem to get any momentum together since the break. Terrible tactics. Poor replacement since my team started declining (they lost to a team with a player out of position last night for 90mins), Better opponents to be honest.
Someone could’ve easily ran away with it this season. You had a great chance at beginning of season Stupac with your 4 point lead.

What a crappy season this had been 55-15 last night. Score 1 in 45. Red card 73 and concede counter v counter 82. Really hasn't gone my way. Looks like your name is on the title after that one stupac. After 30 games though. You and the others in 511 have just been better though! Looks like I'm finishing 3rd.
Seasons a write off. Won't ever be having one of these again hopefully.

A great season, the top teams all dropped a lot of unexpected points and some other teams really stepped it up to make it a really competitive league.
Glad I won 5-1-1 this season as a good chunk of my players will be retiring this season or next season so I won't expect to challenge again for a few seasons I think.

Congrats on winning 5-1-1 this season Blue Bay Esmeralda. CSKA Sofia was so close, great win for the American Misfits away on the final game to conslidate 4th place. CSI-Thanet have been very consistent and a well deserved 2nd place. I had a shocking season in the end, losing 3 of my last 6 cost me dearly and is definitely not top 4 form. I will take 5th, dust myself off during the end of season break and will hopefully challenge again next season. Didn't qualify for the champions league either, first time in the Europa league. Conference 5 has got stronger this season which is great and hope it continues to strengthen as it provide fantastic competition - I was thinking about changing conference but may be tempted to stay now. Well done all.

Why would you consider changing the conference ? Second season in a row 3 teams have a shot for the tittle just few games before the end of the season. I would stay in the conference if I were you but if you want to play against different teams then I get it :)

The main reason for considering a change in conference is to play against different teams. However, I do agree with you that the competition in 5-1-1 is stronger than before and the title run in this season has been very interesting so far. After drawing tonight against Borg, it looks like my team is out of the title race, but not 100%.
Borg looks to have the best papers, he will be hoping we all lose points tonight, but if CSKA Sofia and Scammondon Daoists take the win tonight, the game between CSKA Sofia and The Borg will be all deciding i feel like.
In the last 3 games of the first round of the season, Borg took 6 points, Scammonden and Schwalbe 7 points and CSKA Sofia 9 points.
So if this repeats, CSKA Sofia will walk away with the title.

Been very quiet last season or 2. Quite simply I am really really bored and spending next to no time on the game. Tactics are rush inside a couple of minutes and I'm off again.
Couldn't be bothered to log in last night my own fault and that's the title gone. Wrong boots etc. I'm gonna see out the season in 5-1-1 and try freshen it up by moving conference next season New league hopefully will bring the buzz.
How this game (and SL2) is still going is beyond me.

Hopefully C5 will get some more active managers soon. I notice the difference alot begin in C1 and C5.
In C1 almost every division game is exciting and everything can happen. In C5 you only have like 1 in 3 games where you really need to setup and manage properly.

it is not so much C5 but the game in general. Just needs an uplift. To name a few - More managers, 1st minute sub bug/advantage needs removing, More emphasis on Formation/weather and basic errors and more input from the powers that be. Nothing to major but some tweaks. Sadly, it won't happen. that ship has sailed.
anyway, to make sure I get a place in a top division I have jumped ship now. C7 here I come. When I first joined in the early 2000's my 1st ever conference.

Really bummed I gave it away on the last day.
But still you deserved it concidering the whole season. I only came close the last few games, and was lucky to even have a chance.

Was a really exciting season this year, had to play almost all the top games at the end, and didn't had a comfortable gap to lose any points. Borg kept pushing me all season.
Next year will be so though. With your team gaining in strenght every day. And i'm sure Borg and Yordan will be up there too.
Hopefully the Warriors won't have to much trouble refresshing his midfield, but he will be there too I believe. And Padstow, CSI-Thanet, Handyman and Scammonden Daoists are strong teams which you can never count of.

Yeah it was me. Haha. I tried to change conferences and it crashed. So it sent my team to 1 computer team and me and club history to another. The other team took over all my private leagues too. Luckily Kush and Borg sorted it so I got my team back. Apologies for breaking loads of stuff. Ha

Hey Ryan, a late welcome to C5! :)
C5 is often seen as one of the weaker conferences, but it looks alot thougher now with another top squad joining us.
At this moment C5 has 4 teams in FL1, and even 3 of them in top 5.
Good luck in the fight for the title. We can't let Yordan run away with it like he is doing now ;)

Yeah was pleased with that one Sem, I think I needed that much of a tactical advantage as well - would have won more comfortably against most other teams. Your team strength is so strong at the moment.

Bit of a rebuilding season this season for me, hoping to be competitive but think it might be a couple of seasons before challenging for the title again.

It was Old Bad Luck Utd and Sodding Typical. They were both good teams.
I'm in a rebuild too Charlie. Have a few season 1/2 players starting and any injuries kill me. Haha. I think this year will be the tightest finish yet between the 4 of us.

I've gone down alot recently! Injuries haven't helped either, I think it could be anyone of the 4 of us that win it, if I was a betting man I would say Ryan again but could go anyway depending on injuries

Big set of fixtures tonight - good to have 4 fairly well matched sides this season.
Slight shame that GD could be affected by the couple of teams leaving mid-season but should have time to make that a non-event.

Thanks mate - got a young squad so I think it will definitely be tougher next year.
Good to see two good sides being promoted to 511 too in Steeton and The Muppets. Should make it 8 or 9 sides that can beat anyone now.

Well finally achieved a title after a long wait! And to make it sweeter stopping my brother getting 3 in a row! Some good teams in this conference, hope we all stay and labrador united getting promoted will add to alot of good teams!
