Title: New British Heavyweight Champion Of The World
Post by: harv on November 29, 2015, 03:24:09 PM
Did anyone else see the fight last night. Tyson Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko in a unanimous points decision after 12 rounds. 8)

A great deal of the experts in the game were surprised about it but I knew that he'd win the fight, although I was expecting him to knock Klitschko out. The first and the eleventh rounds were a draw in my opinion and Fury won the other ten.

I don't know why so many people were surprised, he's shown in the past that he can take a punch, he's always had fast hands, a great jab, has plenty of punching power, can switch between orthodox and southpaw very easily and, contrary to popular belief, his two most important assets aren't his fists but his feet. The best footwork and movement I've seen from a fighter in donkey's years.

I wish he'd give this gypsy thing a rest though. He isn't a pikey and he isn't a romani, he probably comes from a long line of fairground folk but that's about as far as it goes.

Klitschko's team tried all sorts of shenanigans to try and put Fury off his game - GloveGate, RingGate and HandWrapsGate lol - which shows (if avoiding the fight for years isn't enough lol) how worried he was about facing him. There's a rematch clause in the contract but I can't imagine that Klitschko will be up for it if he watches the fight today and sees how he was so comprehensively beaten during that fight. :o

Good to see another 'character' in the Heavyweight division again what with talking the talk, the Batman outfits and the singing we've certainly got entertainment both inside and outside the ring. Plus he's a big United fan too! ;D

Am now watching Chris Eubanks Jr vs Gary O'Sullivan, he's looking MILES better than his old man. How O'Sullivan is still on his feet is beyond me :o

O'Sullivan's corner retired him from the fight after the 7th round. No surprise because he was getting battered like a fish on Friday lol. Still stayed on his feet though, one hell of a chin :o

Anthony Joshua next. He's looking pretty tasty but can't see him being able to handle Fury's movement if/when they fight in a couple of years time.

Can't see this lasting beyond the 2nd round lololol

Joshua knocked him out in round 7. Good fight in the end, really surprised me.

Jim Watt agreed with my scoring too. 8)

Well we've got another potential World Champion on the way in Joshua. Not so sure that he's got enough power to put Kitschko  down and we don't really know how good Joshua's chin is. If Joshua doesn't win by KO by the7th round I reckon the Ruskie will end up winning.

Going to be interesting to see how this one goes, starts tomorrow night at around 9:45pm I think. 8)

A great fight, Joshua won after a stoppage in Round 11. I thought that was going the distance and was expecting a win on points for Klitschko but Joshua managed to pull something out of the bag in the 11th. Nice!

Now I want to see Joshua vs Fury! 8)

Tyson Fury is having his comeback fight tomorrow against an Albanian called Sefer Seferi. Fury is 5 stone heavier, if he doesn't knock him into next week this will be an embarrassment although being smaller and lighter may give the guy an advantage. He's also got a surprising amount of knockouts for such a small fighter.

I've missed watching Fury fight, he's not a nice person but his movement is the best I've seen for donkey's years.

Fury is still WAY too heavy despite losing a shitload of weight. You have to give him credit for losing that weight and getting back into the ring after his mental health issues though.

Seferi got battered for 4 rounds and didn't come out for the 5th. This is going to take a while for him to get back to his best but even with a stone and a half of extra weight and 30 months of ring rust we still saw a few flashes here and there of the old Tyson Fury.

He reckons he'll have a world title belt before the end of the year but I'm not sure he's going to be ready until next year.

Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin. Should be a good fight, Joshua needs to be sharp tonight because Povetkin could give him a lot of problems.

Joshua has had his nose broken at the end of the first round and the Ruskie is connecting with some good shots. Joshua hasn't found his rhythm yet at the end of round three. First round a draw and the other two have gone to Povetkin.

Joshua ended up knocking the crap out of him in round 7 resulting in a TKO. My internet came back for the 7th round and according to the commentators he picked things up in rounds 4-7 and got himself ahead on points, not that it mattered. A lot of that was down to Povetkin getting a bit knackered after those first three rounds I think.

Wilder is starting to feel the pressure, I thought he was a bit shaky when he said the other day that Fury hasn't got into his head. The fact that he said that says that he HAS got into his head lol ;D

Fury is great at winding opponents up, Wilder and his brother both lost it at the latest press conference. Expect plenty of verbal from Fury during the fight too, Wilder's discipline is pretty poor, it won't be long before he starts throwing those windmills around which Fury SHOULD be able to avoid without much of a problem.

Wilder has a few problems for this fight on Sunday morning (5am!):

1) He will struggle to keep his discipline as mentioned above

2) Fury's feinting and movement will disrupt his rhythm, we saw the same thing happening to Klitschko

3) When he throws that right hand and MISSES his trailing leg (which is much too wide) moves forward, putting him off balance and both his legs end up square against his opponent leaving him vulnerable to a counter.

4) Fury is VERY difficult to hit due to his feinting and movement that I've mentioned above. Klitschko, who was a MUCH better boxer than Wilder will ever be, only landed 52 punches over 12 rounds. That's an average of 4.33 punches per round.

Of course you can't write off a big puncher completely for a second, because one punch can change everything, but I reckon Fury will win this.

Wilder immediately after the press conference screaming at a reporter lol

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOhlEeMDH-o

I think it's safe to say that Fury has done the same thing to Wilder that he did to Klitschko, he's well and truly got into his head and he didn't even need to dress up as Batman to do it lol. Expect similar in the ring too but with one big difference - Wilder will come out right from the first second swinging those windmills. Before the second round (assuming that Fury doesn't get knocked out) he'll get told in the break to calm the fuck down and use his head. Second round you'll see Fury fucking Wilder's rhythm with those feints and that movement and the fight will go on until the 8th or 9th round until Fury wins by TKO. Wilder's eyes bruise easily.

You heard it here first. ;D

Good start for the UK. Young Joe Joyce wins with a knockout in round 1. A good few punches, it could have finished a few seconds earlier. He rocked Hanks but sportingly stood back to give him a few seconds to gather what was left of his marbles lol. Hanks had to steady himself against one of the ropes, a few seconds passed and then Joyce went in and finished him off.

I don't think he can do that when he steps up the quality of his opponents because he'll become unstuck. Regardless that's 7 knockouts in 7 fights with his last 4 coming in the first round. Definitely one to watch for the future anyway.

The Ortiz fight should last a bit longer cos he's getting on a bit now lol ;D ;D ;D

I wish I hadn't seen so much footage as the fight hype started to build up because I think I've seen all of the footage and interviews and stuff that Showtime are showing as fillers.

Kauffman deserves to get beat by Ortiz just for having a REALLY crap beard lol

Round 3 of 10 and Ortiz is ahead. Kauffman using the ring to tire Ortiz's old legs. Ortiz keeps on catching him, think we'll see a KO from Ortiz in 6 or 7.

Kauffman down in round 6 but survived the round. I think it's only a matter of time before he gets beat.

American Jarrett Hurd vs Jason Welborn from Birmingham, the British Light Middleweight champion. Three belts up for grabs for a risky fight for Hurd as his next fight is a unification job.

I think Welborn might get battered here unfortunately.

Post by: harv on December 02, 2018, 04:12:41 AM
Welborn knocked out in round 4. If he had a bigger punch on him he would have had a chance, he did some great work inside but didn't offer enough to bother Hurd. A nice body shot finished it.

Fury vs Wilder next. 8)

Fury looking VERY relaxed and confident, hope he doesn't fuck this up lmfao :o ;D

Plenty of support for Fury, it's almost like a fight in England the reaction he's got.

Plenty of boos for Wilder lol ;D

Yup, it is a crown lmfao, obviously a poor attempt to wind up Fury but there's only one king of the mind games here. ;D

A bit of a scare, I thought he was out but he was up at 9. Fury won all but 3 rounds there by my count. Just got to wait for the judges. I can't see anything but a Fury win.

I thought Wilder's eyes would give him more trouble but his corner did well. After that 12th round I reckon Wilder will be up for the rematch.

Fury took that well, I would have been livid!!! Wilder won 3 rounds at best, Fury was WAY ahead. Money has to have changed hands there I think. I'm gobsmacked lmfao ;D ;D ;D

I think I might catch religion, I was sure that Fury was out in that last round but SOMEHOW he managed to get up. Fury said that god did it in a mini sermon at the end of his interview lolololol ;D

Well now the sequel has come and gone. The first fight Fury was at 75-80% and won convincingly on points over 12 rounds despite not getting the decision. He was robbed.

Earlier on we had a 100% Fury battering Wilder like a fish on Friday. Fury won by TKO in round 7 but the ref should have stopped the fight before then because Wilder was well and truly fucked from round 4 onwards.

Wilder was bleeding profusely from the left ear, looked like his ear drum had gone but his trainer said during the post-fight press conference that it was a cut.

He also reckons that Wilder will be up for a third fight but I have my doubts about that. He really did take a proper beating.

Two of the judges had Fury winning all 7 rounds and the other one gave round 2 to Wilder which I agree with.

If he is up for a rematch then he needs to ditch his corner team, especially his trainer. He needs to learn some boxing skills I think otherwise he's just going to get battered again.

Just seen the weigh in for the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr exhibition match. Mike Tyson is going to batter him I think 😲

They asked Tyson what his tactics were going to be and he basically said as soon as the bell goes I'm going to run at him and batter him 😂😎😂
Title: Re: New British Heavyweight Champion Of The World
Post by: harv on December 01, 2020, 07:08:56 PM
Ended up in a draw, but I personally thought that Tyson JUST edged it. It was an entertaining watch and Tyson said he'd be up for doing it again, and Roy Jones Jr said he'd discuss it with his family before making it a decision. I thought that Tyson was pretty chilled out throughout the whole affair and it turns out that he was stoned lol ;D ;D ;D
