I think we should bring this back its one of the most fun competitions in SL. This is to start next season but to get ahead of it thought i'd post it here

Just thinking out loud..

Should we not all list our names then be put together to even the teams up a bit?
Maybe use the positioning from FL1, 2 and 3 - Top of FL1 goes with someone from FL3 ?

Banger I do like this idea. Save like Super Imps joining with Kush 😂 maybe you can only join with someone you are not in the same FL with, but if the team stays together the following season and end up in the same FL, they can stay togetherâ€¦ just another idea. My BLADBEAN FC are 100% in, itâ€™s a shame you teamed up so quick Gull, I would have enjoyed that 👊

Count ITALIANO in, and if this starts next season, thatâ€™s the seasons that i will be in my prime, and one to watch out for, so donâ€™t all rush to want to team up with me too quickly 8) ;D haha

I've compiled a list of the team strengths if this helps with the pairings - strongest possible lineups for teams using their preferred formation.

If there's no rules on pairings I can do this exercise again at the start of the league to see which pair will start off as favourites. :)

Great Post Gull. Always like looking at stats and team strength.

Have to agree with Joe that most teams so far on the list are capable of beating each other. With teams just about to start and enter their best seasons.

I'm hoping memento mori will pair up with me after our battle in FL3 but if Matt doesn't fancy it I will need a partner. Forget the league and the private leagues bar fl3 this is one I'll take seriously

I wouldn't say ur underdogs at all. You have done pretty well since returning. With Champions Shield last season and this seasons run. First season in top division winner aswell. I wouldnt be confident in beating you. Its already shaping up to be a good competition.

Lovely if danemark confirms then that's 7/8 just need one more pair then I'll put to the group how we want to do the leagues I'm thinking 2 leagues of 8 we all choose between each pair 1&2 and thats the league you will be placed in. Then do we want it every day, or every 3 days I think every day personally

In an ideal world 5 I would want 2 managers as a team so there's 5 teams 3 managers if I've seen correctly

Yeah I think it's better that way Joe. The the idea of doubles is to team up with another manager rather than one manager with 2 teams. May aswell not be doubles if thats the case. Lol. 8)

I want this to start on day 4 as people may be on holiday etc so got an 8 team league locked In

Cska and fc scwalble reserve

One more pair and we can make it a ten team doubles for 50p it's worth a go just for the fun

2 separate league, at the end you add up you and your partners points, and hope itâ€™s higher than everyone elseâ€™s duos points. if we was together then youâ€™d end up playing your partner which isnâ€™t ideal.

Trying to tidy the table up a little bit want it looking a bit cleaner. Anyway onto the action and the table is starting to shape up.

Gameweek 3

Heading up the league are CONMARK FC who are flying at the moment Rathpeacon tops Group A and yet to be defeated after a 1-0 win against King Kennys Army and that was followed up by DANEMARK who funnily enough smashed sMAshed 4-0 to give them the early lead on 13 points. Second Place in the table is The Borg and Bristol Saints name still to be confirmed but they are not worrying about that right now picking up 4 points today with a 1-0 win against the seg and a draw against BALDBEAN could be a team to watch out for. Semper Invictus lie in third also taking 4 points today good result for Kitsunegari winning 1-0 at ITALIANO and backed up by the Seagulls nicking the lovely horses carrot for a 1-1 draw.

That's the top 3 sorted now the rest of the league Touch and SMAsh 1 point of the podium but its a bit Jekyll and Hyde so far they either win or lose tomorrow could be a big day for them though, in 5th we have my Lovely Fart a slow start but 4 points today will do them the worlds of good and has got them right back in the mix. The bottom 3 sides all had days to forget picking up just 1 point between the six sides to much quality between all the teams for that to stay that way.

Gameweek 5 Recap

The new leaders are now Semper Invictus who had a solid day at the office picking up 6 points in their 2 games Kitsunegari lead the doubles group B and beat Redkrap 2-0 at home, despite injuries and AWOL's Park my Seagull won 1-0 away at Touchnplay in a feisty affair which saw manager Joe bradley sent off in the second half.

In second place are TBC and have barely been out of the top 2 since the season started The Borg currently lead Group A on 9 points and is still unbeaten after beating my lovely horse 1-0 this afternoon, slowly moving up the league in Group B is Aaron's Bristol Saints who beat DANEMARK 1-0 and are only 2 points of the top.

Last time we look at the league CONMARK FC were top of the league but Cove's prediction of you can rise or fall very quickly has come to fruition today after they had a day to forget losing both their games as aforementioned the DANE's converting to Christianity at the saints and Rathpeacon went on holiday in Great Yarmouth and spent most of the time on the beach rather than the pitch as they lost 3-0. However, they still remain on the podium and will be looking to turn this around soon.

As for the rest of the league Touch and SMAsh remain in 4th position the Jekyll and Hyde form continuing, this time it was SMashEd who picked up the point for them with a 1-0 victory at Fart In a Bottle and leaves them out of the top 3 on goal difference. This opened the door for the Bald Italians to move up a place and they duly obliged. ITALIANO and BALDBEAN both winning there games 3-0 and 1-0 respectively moving ITALIANO up to second in group B and BALDBEAN registering there first win in Group A.

Unfortunate day for My lovely Fart with both team narrowly losing their games 1-0 and it has put them in the bottom 3 6 points of the podium now, joined on 10 points is The Real Great Yarmouth who had mixed fortunes after Great Yarmouth's 3-0 win The Real Seg lose 3-0 at ITALIANO, you win some you lose some I guess. Holding up the table are King Redkraps Army with 8 points who must feel they are underperforming in the first half of the season with the quality they have. The brothers have it all to do in the last 2/3 thirds of the season to spin this around.

I think it will stay close and like what's been said already the points gap can change very quickly in just one day. Kinda shocked with who is at the bottom of the table, I'm sure they will turn it around tho.

Gameweek 7 Recap

It's been a brilliant, topsy turvy, first half to the Doubles League but here is where we are at at the half way stage. Leading the way are TBC who regain top spot after briefly dropping down to second with 6 points today. The Borg has been in brilliant form and showed his credentials by smashing Rathpeacon 6-0 to remain top of Group A and is the only side yet to be beaten in either group. Aaron's Bristol Saints has been quietly going about his business as well and a 1-0 away win against former leaders Kitsunegari to go 3 points of the top of Group B shows he is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

It's safe to say after a bland start the Bald Italians have gone from a margarita to an American hot at the moment. BALDBEAN fuelled by Gull's pre match dig hinting it would be an easy 3 points sent his team out with a point to prove and they did precisely that clipping the Seagulls wings in a 1-0 victory. ITALIANO is currently lying top of group B and is the best performing player in either group with 16 points. This form continued today by beating Fart In a Bottle 1-0 to put them on 24 points 2 of the top.

Up in to third position is Touch and SMAsh on 23 points picking up 4 point today equalling their best return in a game week. Touchnplay getting a great 1-1 result halting what seemed like a never ending losing streak against King Kennys Army and after reviewing the match the Touchnplay manager Joe Bradley was slightly disappointed they didin't take the full 3 points. sMAshEd kept up their impressive recent form winning their third game in a row beating The Seg 3-0 to move up to third place in Group B.

Looking at the rest of the table. After the elation of topping table Semper Invictus must have got vertigo and now find themselves in fourth position only 2 weeks later with both teams losing today 1-0 against the 2 B's BALDBEAN and Bristol Saints they are now 5 points of the top and 2 points behind 3rd so they need to arrest this slide quickly to get back challenging.

Another team, CONMARK FC, who had an impressive start and were enjoying life at the top of the league at the start of the season now find themselves in the middle of the table in 5th position 6 points of the pace. It was a bad day at the office for both teams DANEMARK losing 3-1 at home to Redkrap FC and Rathpeacon getting hammered at Borg which has given them a -5 goal difference.

Now moving onto the bottom 3 My Lovely Horse has had a great start to Group A and is in second position with a solid 2-1 win away at Great Yarmouth Town, however, it is the complete reverse for Fart in a bottle who are second bottom of Group B with 4 points which puts them in 6th 6 points of the podium. The bottom 2 teams are both locked on 13 points The Real Great Yarmouth and King Redkraps Army. There were some green shoots for the brothers today picking up 4 points which is the best return they have had this season

Yeah always seem to be worse the injuries in the first part of a new season. Hopefully Gull it gets better need you help in this now... lol.

Hopefully avoid injuries tonight - have MIDR coming back for Sunday so results should improve then. Will need a strong second half to the season for us Sempers to overtake those pesky Italians and TBC - we can't let this pairing win the league with a name like that ;D

Nobody loves being around a fart and that's exactly where we are in this league, I don't care if it's lovely or not. ;)

Guys, just a thought, but as a thank you for sorting out this league and putting the time in to do these incredible write ups that we are all clearly enjoying, Iâ€™m happy to send some credits to touch for all the hard work if anyone else wants to chip in? He is putting a lot of time and effort in to this and it would be great to keep it going, so a couple of quid from a few of us to give him some extra credits could be nice if anyone fancies it?

Gameweek 8 Recap

The second half of the league has started and it feels like its been quite an important gameweek from looking at the updated table as the gaps are starting to become a bit more noticeable and leaving some teams with a lot of work to do. Still top of the table are TBC and if they keep this up it won't be long before they will be nailed on for a top 3 finish Bristol Saints the main protagonist for them today cruising down the the river Avon to a 3-0 over Fart in a Bottle. The Borg remains unbeaten and top of Group A despite being held 0-0 at home to Touchnplay. 4 points out of 6 for TBC they are going to take a good team to catch them.

The march continues for the Bald Italians who also took 4 points and remain in second position 2 points behind on 28 points. ITALIANO remains top of Group B by 3 points with a 2-0 win against DANEMARK at home and this was followed up by an additional point gained by BALDBEAN who drew 1-1 with Great Yarmouth Town. It's now 10 points out of 12 for the BALD Italians and they could be hitting form just at the right time.

Back up onto the podium is Semper Invictus after dropping down to 4th last week they responded emphatically by being the only team to take 6 points Gull's Seagull's found how to fly again and soared out of the cove with a 3-0 win over Rathpeacon. In a clash between sMAshEd and Kitsunegari who were level on points in Group B it was Kitsunegari who prevailed away from home for 3 crucial points in the context not only in Group B but the overall table.

Touch and SMAsh move back down to 4th 3 points of the podium on 24 points by only picking up 1 point today Touchnplay will be pleased with a 0-0 draw against top of the league The borg but as commented on above after winning 3 straight league games the run came to an end for sMAshEd today which is the only difference between them and the top 3.

CONMARK FC remain in 5th but their recent form will of concern to both DANEMARK and Rathpeacon as they have had another day to forget. I'm sure Cove will be having a few choice words with his defence after Rathpeacon lost 3-0 again making them have the current worst defence in the competition. DANEMARK had a tall order today against ITALIANO and was unable to produce a surprise against the league leaders losing 2-0. It's been a poor few weeks for CONMARK and the teams below them are starting to reel them in.

The bottom 3 remains the same My Lovely Fart took 1 point today My Lovely Horse continuing their brilliant season second in group A only by goal difference with a 1-1 draw against King Kennys Army but a defeat 3-0 for Fart in a Bottle leaves them on 17 points. One of the performances of the day came from The Real Great Yarmouth who picked up 4 points with Great Yarmouth Town picking up a great point against 2nd placed BALDBEAN and The Seg winning away 2-0 against rivals Redkrap FC putting them level 6th. It's looking more and more like the Brothers Grimm for King Redkraps Army picking up the solitary point today and are 3 points below 7th now it's looking like an extremely tall order for them to reach the podium from here.

Touch if Brendan isnâ€™t kicked out for the next doubles I will not be participating. He has purposely thrown The Borg a big win because he cannot win it, and because Mark and I are second.

The guy is that thick that he messed his team up on purpose so had to throw the other 2 games also but didnâ€™t remember to throw each game with the same team, so chucked every game with different players in 😂😂😂 showing everyone that he actually did it on purpose, how thick can you be!

With this and what he tried to do to Gull at the end of last season I donâ€™t actually understand why he is allowed in anything. This is a fantastic competition and there he is again doing his best to screw people over, the guy is the biggest dickhead Iâ€™ve ever had to deal with.

Sorry all for the rant but I canâ€™t deal with this guy. If you decide to keep him in thatâ€™s fine Iâ€™ll be out.

Right it's been about time and going to be a tough write up seeing as I've had an absolutely abysmal second half of the season going from 3rd to last in Group A but I'm revisiting the office so I'll laugh my way through it .

There was a lot of controversy this afternoon as things got more heated than Conte and Tuchel in the technical areas of the Sunday league doubles league today with a certain manager threatening to refuse to participate again before fellow managers calming the situation down ;D looking at this result for the first time I might see why (unofficial statement).

Top of the league are TBC and have led the way from the start until now it's been a brilliant season from The Borg only conceding 4 goals. still unbeaten and despite a controversial result this afternoon beating My lovely Horse 14-0 they have been the stand out team in Group A this season. Bristol Saints top up the points for TBC with a good 1-1 draw against DANEMARK and is second in Group B on 21 points and in my opinion has had a great season started in the bottom half but slowly moved his way through the division and now TBC are just 3 points away with 4 games to play to seal a spot on the podium. Like Thanos... It's inevitable.

Ever since the Bald Italians decided the Margarita just wasn't the way forward for them they have been on absolute fire and keep topping up that pizza with more and more chilli sauce. ITALIANO is still the highest points scorer in both divisions with 29 points and had a comfortable 2-0 away win against The Real Seg this afternoon. BALDBEAN by his on admission had a poor start to the season but a vital win today 1-0 against King Kennys Army establishes him in 5th in Group A and on 44 points they are so close from making a great comeback from the bottom half of the table to the top. We have a title race people!

There is a bit of a gap to 3rd position which is held by Semper Invictus who took 4 points today, Park My Seagull beat Touchnplay 2-1 (I'm not even going to look at the match report) which is a great turn around from Gull another team that was struggling at the start of the campaign but since key players have come back from injury the form has improved significantly and they now find themselves in 3rd on 18 points in Group A. Kitsunegari picked up a good point away at Redkrap, drawing 0-0, and still remain in the hunt for a top 3 finish in Group B. The pressure is on for Semper to get this over the line there are a few teams queuing up behind them so it certainly won't be plain sailing for them in the last 4 games.

In 4th is My lovely Fart who took 3 points today starting today top of the league in Group A saw a strange result as My Lovely Horse lost 14-0 which raised a few eyebrows, however, a great result from Fart In A Bottle winning 2-0 at sMAshEd gave them their third win of the season and moved them off the bottom of Group B. One point behind 3rd that My lovely Horse loss could mean them failing to make the jump onto the podium.

CONMARK FC are in 5th what an up and down season this pair have had they blow hot and cold and picked up 1 point today with DANEMARK getting a great draw against in form Bristol Saints. Rathpeacon love Great Yarmouth and the beach down there because thats is back to back 3-0 defeats against the Town and I'm sure Cove will be glad to see the back of him. CONMARK could be a good outside bet just 4 points of third and are more than capable of taking 12 from 12 watch this space.

Bottom 3 in 6th Touch and sMAsh I'm actually a bit pissed off with this considering how poor my second half of the season has gone. Sorry Mark let you down a bit here mate. Anyway we took 0 points today both lost in the fixtures stated above but we hold our heads up high and if we take maximum points we have a long shot at third. We go again.

2 points below on 26 points Is the Real Great Yarmouth who gained 3 points today. While the Seg sits bottom of Group B Great Yarmouth Town have a great chance of finishing in the top 3 of Group A so any games against them will not be a walk in the park.

King Redkraps Army still remain bottom of the table but its not inconceivable they could jump a few places by the time the season is over the brothers have to put it all in now not to win the wooden spoon.

The light is at the end of the tunnel and it just so happens the penultimate fixture list has thrown up some great match ups The Borg and ITALIANO are up against King Rekraps Army on current form you would say it's 2 wins for the league leaders but this isn't the Scottish league.

The middle of the table is going to be a lot clearer to tomorrow so many even match ups Great Yarmouth town v park my seagull 3rd v 4th in Group A could go either way the same with Bristol Saints v sMAshed. I'm hoping My Lovely Horse goes AWOL again. Cove against BALDBEAN again another interesting fixture

Well, well, well there was a lot on this game week and with the competitiveness of this competition it didn't disappoint with one week to go TBC hold a 4 point lead over the Bald Italians. The Borg drawing away to King Kennys Army 1-1 but Bristol Saints coming through in style beating sMAshEd 2-0 to put TBC on the brink of the title now. I cant see this going any other way now personally.

Second place lie the Bald Italians its been a great run from them but second is almost secured barring a disaster. They will be disappointed with only picking up 1 point today. Will a miracle happen tomorrow but they will need maximum points to steal the title.

Semper Invictus remain in third by 1 point no goal conceded today and Gull winning the 3rd v 4th battle in group A 1-0 against Great Yarmouth Town to secure a top 3 finish in Group A .Kitsunegari was not letting the team down either getting a valuable point away to Fart In a Bottle which leaves them on 39 points.

Thats the top 3 final day preview to come tomorrow, loads to play for !!

Its the last game of the season and there is loads to play for top of the league is TBC and It's not going to be an easy task The Borg has to go away to Rathpeacon but Bristol Saints against Kitsunegari is a real head to head with Semper Invictus needing the points to get 3rd this is 100% the big game of the day. BALDBEAN v Gull definitely could be interesting especially after the last game against each other. There's a couple of games which will decide the bottom 3 but I'm sure all of the teams will be disappointed with their performances

The Doubles League has come to an end just before the bank holiday weekend so Friday evening put the ice in the glass and enjoy a nice cider while writing up the final day of what I'm sure everyone will agree has been a great doubles league. Everyone has had ups and down some more than others it went to the last day but this is how it all planned out.

TBC are crowned the champions and I must say it is so well deserved they have been by far the most consistent team and I dont think they have been out of the top 2 since the start of the league which is an impressive achievement considering the quality of opposition. The Borg went the whole season unbeaten, the only team to do so, in Group A getting a 0-0 draw away to Rathpeacon and then Bristol Saints was the perfect foil again for TBC winning away and Kitsunegari 1-0. Both TBC teams finishing second in their groups but they won't care about that as they are the Doubles Champions registering 53 points. Congratulations!

Runner up the Bald Italians who just gave themselves a bit to much to do in the second half of the season to reel in TBC, but they certainly can be proud of their performance and gave us a great title race going into the last day of the season. BALDBEAN lost at home to Gull who did say he would wreck their chances by beating them 1-0 but ITALIANO weren't messing around again and won 2-0 away at Fart In a Bottle to confirm he has been the best player across the 2 leagues racking up 33 points and topping Group B which will be a slight consolation for ITALIANO.

They had it all to do on the last day of the season to remain in the top 3 but Semper Invictus showed they had it in them to get across the line it was in the balance at one point with Kitsunegari losing to Bristol Saints but as the vidi printer was showing the scores on the screen we heard Jeff Stelling go over to Chris Kamara in the Park my Seagull v BALDBEAN FC game to report on a Corie Andrews cheeky flick into the back of the net with 13 minutes to play to take the win 1-0 and secure a place on the podium with 42 points.

In 4th My Lovely Fart, despite being a controversial manager, you have to give it to My Lovely Horse for topping a very tough Group A with 27 points and a 0 GD very strange ;D. They had a tricky fixture against Great Yarmouth Town today but at home they got what they needed by taking a point in a 1-1 draw. In their other fixture it was always going to be a tall order for Fart in Bottle against ITALIANO but they didn't disgrace themselves and finished on 12 points in Group B.

CONMARK FC ended up in fifth they were looking for an outside bid to sneak into the top 3 but just fell short this time around. DANEMARK ended up 3rd in Group B on 21 points but was turned over by Redkrap 1-0 today away from home. Rathpeacon got a worthy point against the Borg drawing 0-0 placing them 5th in Group A. CONMARK knew they needed the maximum points today to make it onto the podium and looking at the numbers they would have made it if they got them by a point so a missed opportunity there.

In 6th is King Redkraps Army the brothers have been holding up the league pretty much the whole season but have burst in to life with the threat of the wooden spoon lingering over their head. Today they picked up 4 points King Kennys Army drawing 1-1 with Touchnplay and Redkrap getting an important win 1-0 against DANEMARK which was enough to move them up 2 positions on the last day and gave them a total score of 31 points.

In 7th Touch and SMAsh, they spent most of the season in 4th or 3rd, however, due to Touchnplay's dreadful form find themselves finishing the campaign in 7th in the league. Im sure off air both managers will feel this is a poor return. Today they picked up 2 points both getting draws, Touchnplay has seemed to have breaked the hodoo they have against King Kennys Army by going undefeated against him in group A and scoring in both games. Madness... sMAshed also got a 1-1 draw away against The Seg which moved them up to 4th in Group B on the last day of the season. Well played Mark was great being your team mate this season.

The wooden spoon goes to The Real Great Yarmouth on 28 points. Great Yarmouth Town has had an impressive season the double over Cove springs to mind and finishing 4th in Group A its been a good season for them if the result was reversed today it would be them in 6th rather than the 2 teams above them and would have finished 3rd in Group A. Which shows just how things can change. The Seg have had a much better second half of the season picking up 2 wins and a draw in their last 7 fixtures which is an improvement. Chazz is a top manager and I'm sure next time around he will want to tally up a lot more points than that. But for now the wooden spoon it is.

Just want to say been great fun everyone twists and turns I think the right pair won the league and same again soon.

Can ITALIANO carry BALDBEAN for a second season on the trot ;) Will TBC want to defend the title or will it be like a Leicester or a Blackburn happy for the win and drive of into the sunset. Will the brothers come back with the army. Will My lovely Horse decide to cause controversy.

We shall see it's actually turning out perfectly because at this rate of the sign up we might be able to start just before the new season.

Unless we don't get enough interest and need a team to fill in, I don't think we should do this. It defeats the purpose of being in a pair and trying not to let your partner down.
