oh dear oh dear oh dear, after the the comment yesterday that was bound to happen although I do blame spurs for my result a heavy session while watching the football may have affected my ability to set up my team correctly or not at all i'm not entirely sure which one it was! However I'm positive that tonight the result will be better .... touch wood :)Keep trying. It is hard at first in this league, as not only do just promoted teams have to play the top 4 but you have to play them away from home as well. Just try to understand the tactics, hopefully snatch some points then make us all pay at fortress TP in the 2nd half of the season.

Did you definitely confirm longball ? it's funny you should say that nick because when i looked at my AT's last for last nights game I could have sworn i went defensive at k.o if loosing after 15 counter attack then defensive after 60 but for some reason that's not what happened... I don't know if it just me going mental but i'm going to keep an eye on it.

yeah I no mate been training them like that throughout with ball skills every now and again just a personal preference from my felix days. It all comes down to the players you buy at the end of the day for instance for an x-1-1 like ours you need to be buying players with 95 for the primary stats minimum, to be able to compete otherwise it's a lost cause until there season 3/4 because TA in the match engine is not that important at all in my opinion
Couldn't agree more captain it's all about getting the balance right which ultimately means to compete at the top you have to invest more money into your team. It's all about getting the balance right so at all times your first 11 is full of 99's, clearly seems to be doing the trick for you you're having a great season mate breaking into the top 3 and with an outside shot at the title. Just don't do a spurs and you'll be fine !
Yer mate cheers. Haven't performed this well in the league since my first season here in which I ended up 3rd. Obviously you have some people who have paid like 130K for their whole team which I do actually think is to much unless your a millionaire of course. I think my team is around the 70K area. You gotta be tactical as well about this. You don't want all your players to retire all at the same time. That's 1 little mistake I have done with my midfield. They will all be retiring together which is going to really affect my league status in a couple of seasons time.
Good to see Brads and Chiiiii losing some points yesterday night! - Still got to face some quality managers but there is every chance I can cause an upset :D

Buy players for attacking formations. Look at my second team (Port Morrow), most of my players cost less than 1000 cr, and got my most expensive player for 1200 cr.
One thing I have noticed is the older players tend to train up quicker? Is this just me or has anyone else noticed this?

I must admit I agree with Chiiii on this!
I think the most important factor is team stats followed by TA!
A team with much higher stats will win regardless of TA and if your teams stats are better you can go longer against TA without conceding! if teams stats are similar then TA plays a bigger part.
Then there's little things like gelling, morale, stamina (especially in extra time) I think even captain and set piece takers make a slight difference otherwise why would there be an option to change them?
Unfortunately mate your team just isn't strong enough to compete yet!Touch I feel sorry for you mate, but it probably was paying me back for the other game we played in the league ;)!
Give it a couple of seasons and you'll be fine
I think you'd probably get 5 or 6 Deca unless it's a longball game then I might sneak a 0-2 ;D
If you want to try it you'll have to remember to challenge them next season ;)

I realised what I'd done as soon as I woke up and expected a 4/5-0 thrashing so how come I effectively won the game with 10 men? do you not get punished as much with an AWOL as a red card? Or was it just that I was so dominant tactically with the 10 men that I got away with it? As soon as the random red card kicked in I was always going to lose but I can't understand why I wasn't punished with 10 men in the 1st place!

Guys as much as it pains me to do it I'm gonna have withdraw the blades from our UCB team!As a dad to boisterous just turned 4 year old twins, I can safely tell you Brads eventually you will have plenty of early mornings to set your boys up :D!! But for now I hope all goes well with the birth and most of all enjoy the next few months, you will get some sleep...... eventually ;).
Its took a lot longer than I expected for it to get organised and as the missus is due on Saturday I can't guarantee that I'll be able to setup properly or even at all depending on what happens. I think it's better if we find a replacement now rather than me costing us the title ;)
By the looks of things, this will probably be my first season outside of top two in the domestic leagues in many, many seasons. :(

This is sweet, thanks for spending your time on this. It's so needed to breathe a bit of life into C2 that was a little lacking last season once Drogba went AWOL.
If you need a hand with these reports, let me know I can't dedicate 100% of my time to it but if you're prepared to make an effort then the least I can do is make some myself.

Well Steel City managed to beat me by having no Tactical Advantage. None. Nada. Zip.

There is a known bug with the boots. It defaults to blades sometimes mate.Alex is right ..
I think if you setup but don't change your boots (i.e. because they are already the right type), it defaults to blades I think.
I check and then recheck my boots loads of times before matches!

Great start Mihai, but it goes to show how hard to win this will be, when a team as strong as the Judy's a). are in the relegation places and b). hold the leaders to a draw away from home. No points can be taken for granted this season. Also great start by the Warriors and I see Brads is back on track after the shaky start.........In the end it was a fair game for 5-2-3 longball conditions (30 minutes TA Judy, 30 equal tactics, 30 minutes TA to me).

Come on own up who turned off the WiFi in my hotel last night couldn't do any advanced tactics luckily I just won.If I were you I would pick an injured left midfielder (it's only a mild concussion), because match engine tends to penalise more players out of position.
On the down side both my Left sided midfielders are injured for one week need some advice would you play one in my afternoon games or play a fit player out of position a center mid on the left

I definitely agree that Davo should have scored in the first 45 mins. I don't agree that he should have won with ease however. I had advanced tactics set up of which none had to be used and in all seriousness from the look of the tactics used i reckon I would have had a good chance of picking up a result, that's not the say I definitely would of
The problem is not that I did not win, as such, because changes in ATs if I had scored may have affected the outcome. Being up on ATs for 75 mins, playing the agreed best formation for the conditions, with a reasonable squad, each with 100% gelling and all players in their correct positions - I should have scored. Whether this ultimately ended up in AT changes that resulted in me losing is not the point.

It's not a lie, I never got around to set my ATs the first time. My ATs were clean before setting them last night. I wasn't trying to make excuses for my first loss, I was just glad to have been able to set up. Without the rollback I probably just would have taken the opportunity to quit, because there was a great number of games I didn't bother to set up on afterwards. And I honestly don't want to give up all those games again just to be a good sport. If it was for the league title I definitely would have, but not for a game I was pissed off for not setting up in the first place.

So, I am going to look like a complete tool if I set up 90mins Attack on the assumption that Kush plays 90 mins of defence to counter my previous tactic of 90 mins CA.
I think the fairest thing I can do, all things considered, it to play 90 mins of Def in case the game is played today - that way we both get a chance.

Yeah can't see Brads letting this slip looks like 3rd for me as Deca has an easier run its been a funny season with the rollbacks seemed to have lost a but of interest hopefully can get it back when the new season starts.

Things were looking rosy, although admittedly still very early days but I'd won my first 2 games (1-0 a piece), had won my ICC first round and was sitting 3rd on MT 2 points behind the joint leaders and 3rd in the friendly table. Reminded me of a great season I had back on the old server when I won everything in one season except the Challenge Shield in which I placed runner up so after all that ...

Dozed off in Big Brother at 10.10pm last night and woke at 4.20am dreading what might have been and yes, had lost 3-0 to Spartak. No disrespect to him but to loose without even putting up a fight ... gutted. Crashed down to 7th place in the division now. Not looked closely yet. Don't have the heart. 6.50am (almost) and still kicking myself. What a stupid SOB I am ... sometimes my own worst enemy and was SO hoping to be in contention this season. Oh well.
So once bitten, twice shy. That ain't gonna happen again. I'll be setting up my alarm clock from now on and just have to hope I can claw my way back up again. :P

I take it all back mate. Playing Spartak today you were 86 minutes down on ATs, playing 5-2-3 longball/nutter in hot weather with no ref, against 4-5-1 passing/normal - and you still won :o You must be an SL genius...
Interestingly Spartak beat me earlier in the season (admittedly with much superior ATs) when they played 4-5-1 wings against my 5-2-3 longball in the rain....
I really don't understand the logic behind these two outcomes when looked at together.

I think The Marshalls have a fair chance to make it out of round 1 if Betty Swollocks keep playing that striker out of position. :D Putting all my virtual money on Mihai though, 5/1 are good odds for a team that easily could be considered the favourite!

Great write-up Kush. Really miss those great write-ups we used to have from Steve was it? Well anyway thanks for those nice comments and yes I'm fighting hard. Spurs' problem is that I find it so hard to score in division games for some strange reason, although I seem to do ok in friendlies and other cups. Your prediction was pretty close as I managed a 2-0 win yesterday (Tuesday). Strange that the results aren't showing up in the private cup game area yet though but I guess it might once this morning's games have been played and processed. We'll see. :)
Tottenham Hotspurs vs HH Beticos
Perhaps the surprise team of 2-1-1 this season Tottenham Hotspur have been playing some really good football this season. I'm sure before the season started some may have said that Nick's team will be fighting to stay up this season but it's looking like Nick is trying to fight for atleast a top 8 finish and emulating what he managed to do last season. HH Beticos started poorly but have managed to get themselves out of the relegation places and will be trying to stay out for the remainder of the season. HH Beticos are more than able to cause upsets in this division and I'm sure if they continue their recent good form, we will for sure be seeing them here next season. HH Beticos were able to get the better of Spurs in the league with a 1-0 win however they have met again a further 2 times in friendly games and Nick winning both. I'm going for a 2-1 Spurs.

But I'm fairly certain all my league titles have been during my 5-2-3 periods, so I don't know why I still bother using anything else. ::) ;D

Hi Guys. I was away Saturday to Tuesday so I'd set up in advance. Meant I wasn't able to change nice rest/rehab and ended up with one of my strikers injured which didn't help but hey ho, at least I finished 8th which all things considered I suppose wasn't too bad. I didn't trust using holiday mode and not sure it would have replaced my injured striker anyway? :-\
Anyway congrats Chiii ... or by the look of it now Chili ... does that mean you're hot now?! ;D :P

After countless seasons with little success I've decided to join 5-1-1 and try my luck there for now..... ;D ;D ;D
Will miss the competition on 2-1-1, easily the strongest conference on the server, but not having too much time like I did in days gone past to do my research and set up tactics after my homework.
I'm sure 2-1-1 will still be a big favourite for the UCB without me, this conference is strong all through.

Ohhh... Yes I changed at 2.59am lol so basically 1 minute before kick off. I'm always logging in at late night so could change at anytime. This is how I confuse my opponents :p

What happend to you this season ? don't you see that 2-5-3 doesn't worth it?I wouldn't say that, mate! It brought me to the EC finals and got me 2nd place in FL1. My midfield wasn't nearly as strong as I'd hoped it would be at the beginning of the season, but I feel I've brought it back as much as I could. ;D All things considered, I've quite happy with 2-5-3 (I'll go as far as claiming it's the best passing formation and its main downfall is that it doesn't synergize well with 5-2-3, but 2-5-3 Longball is decent enough). :)

Sup people??hey mate! It's going good! It was the closest conference last season in terms of points from first to 8th (the last icc place) every team Down to about 10th 11th took points off each other. Betty swalloks took the title in the end, and it's looking like it's going to be a good one this season too! Although I hope I can get this title in my second season but I'm not sure my players are ready yet!

Congrats Marv, an impressive season all round from you including FL promotion. With big teams like UNIV Craoiva and Steel City Blades leaving the division it's a new era in the division. Teams like Spartak, Betty Swollocks, Monkey Hangers will again be your main challengers and hopefully I can show some consistency next season.cheers mate! It's a shame I've rejoined just after UNIV and steel city leave the division.. they were names I've battled with in previous spells on the game! I have to admit seeing you finish 3rd last season I'm very suprised to see you down in 10th this time around! Especially with 2 good wins against me early season in the icc and friendlies, although I did have chronic injuries then! Hopefully I can repeat the feat of a division win and Fl promotion this season.. would love to win Fl2 season 50! Looks like I'll be seeing alot more of you and a few other cconference 2 faces in Fl2 aswell!

Well done marv on another title win great effort just too good againtruth be told I thought I'd log on to a loss! I fell asleep and forgot to set up tactics, and ended up playing the tactics I played in the afternoon games! Luckily my default tactics was passing and moulded boots, and the conditions suited the game! But ended up playing pansy and offsides for a ref that needed nutter and no offsides! So lucked out there!
Yes all players were 500 apart from 4 which were 700 ( 2 sc, 1 gk, 1 dc)I thought so! I don't know how you do it! There is am with my recent defender costing me 10k! I was thinking of starting a second team with all players costing 500 just to see how I get on!
Yes but your reaping the rewards, this is the best I've done since being runner up in server cup abt 5 seasons ago but I still enjoy it even more so probably.to be fair I think I'd enjoy the game so much more with a squad all 500 credits! Luckily this team is just about sustainable with the credits I win but am seriously considering a second 500 credit team, as you say I'm guessing it's very satisfying causing upsets and winning things!

Id recommend it Marv, i just voted for credits flat out for a season with my 2nd team and then started budget buying. i have to say it is nice getting the occasional upset against a top team (not that i get many). I was actually going to move them to conference 2 as theres a bit of life on this thread ;DI think I may have too. Budget 500 a player and vote for daily training credits. See how they do. I think it'll be great fun achieving upsets and pl wins with a 500 credit team! Is there any top teams out there that anyone knows of that can claim 500 credits a player? I'm sure fc town of Lutons squad is quite cheap, and he had a great season on fl1 this season!

Yeah, thats the only real issue with opting for attacking formations, when a non-competitive team decides to even the odds and plays psycho leaving you with no viable formation choice without playing someone out of position. Im hoping to gradually add a few rookies shortly if they become available on the TM and maybe cut short some valueble players times with me, i know its not cost effective but to stay competitive amongst the top teams i think its necessary... could really have done with that Defender the other day Marv lol.that's exactly what I did.. not really cost effective but by God it's kept me competitive. I've probably won it back in pl winnings already. This new bunch will last the full distance now hopefully, and in a few seasons will be peaking ability wise 8)

There's a real buzz around Conference 2 this season, in what many are calling the most competitive in Sundayleague. During the past week our good friends at FredsBet have been in contact and spokesman Fred Champion is fully anticipating a season of twists and turns and the undoubted shock results along the way.
Mr Champion has been kind enough to give us a list of the runner and riders and their chances of success.
5/4 Donkalonk FC The team is full of quality and confidence will be high in delivering back to back titles
6/4 Old Fullerians AFC Marv will be keen to bring the title back home and will be eager to get this season started
3/1 Redhill Rovers The team is still developing and with such an experienced manager at the helm, they will be really keen to see how this season unfolds
10/1 DidierDrogbaFanClub The team has seen an upturn in form in the previous seasons and the manager is bullish that this is their time to shine
10/1 The Rebel Alliance The Rebel is a real danger but their one downside is their ability to no show for the big games
16/1 HH Beticos HH are an up and down team but when they get on a roll they are hard to stop
20/1 Spartak The manager brings a huge amount of experience, could this season be their time to show their class
33/1 Betty Swollocks XI The team is hard to beat and has produced many good seasons, an outside chance if results start well

Look at last seasons runners up Redhill rovers, can't even get a ICC place at the minute, and Betty swolloks, who is the next earliest to have won the conference apart from me and Donks, as little as 10 seasons ago, is lingering in 11th. Even still they beat the league leaders last night which shows you the strength of the league that 11th can beat top.

Jon, just noticing that i checked out both your team attributes, doesnt seem to be much in it to be honest, its definitely strange Marv took 3 points playing passing in muddy conditions. Both of you had 30 mins TA and you had the higher aggression the whole match. Apart from the home advantage i think Marv you just got lucky lollucky is a tad harsh lol. I think stats wise my squad just edges it, even if it is just slightly the game basically revolves around player stats.
On a totally unrelated note the Madbastids are 2 for 2!!! 8)

Passing was always a no no in muddy conditions years ago but that has seemed to have been relaxed like the having to play 523 longball has too. Only second title in 6 seasons.. so a bittersweet win, form needs to get better but has reflected how little time ive had for the game of late.. actually managed to set up for 29 of my 30 league games this time around, and the one I forgot I got away with and won anyway!

Ah I never knew that you played down there very often! I play cash down there at least once a week, although I’ll play a tourney every now and again – usually play the Deepstacks or Bullseye at Genting Luton as the structures over there are pretty good. Thinking of playing the Easter Beast next weekend though. I’ll pm you though off forum as I’ll be down there for sure next week (in Amsterdam this weekend) ;Dyeah normally down there for cash games. Play the tourneys before hand, normally the Monday's and Saturdays just the 1500 guaranteed. Make genting a few times aswell for the level of each stuff to get a bit more familiar with PLO. Was looking at the Easter beast too. I cant play the Friday day 1 at luton though.. Is Sunday another day one too? Also going to goliath this year for the first time.
Haha, yeah Corkscrew winning the league was a surprise last year. In the 5 seasons you’ve been gone – I think BDD won the first, I won the next three and then Corkscrew won last season. We’ve lost Redhill though which is a bit of a shame but added a few other decent teams.

I've bought some young average players for 500credits just to fill a hole at the minute until the right player comes along. So possibly back in 211 maybe as you say 2/3 seasons. I'll probably move to 213 next season. Try and get back in fl5 aswell to head back upto fl1

A bit gutted not to get the win last night Chaz, but I was thin on Stikers before the game and went 3 up front and one got injured which cost me all 3 points I reckon.

Really frustrated with the match engine as that shouldn't be happening really even if my teams a season or 2 from potential.
Might need to drop out of 2-1-1 again for a few seasons until I can compete at the top.
I had 45 minutes advantage, (All of the first half)
Only had 15 mins disadvantage (45 until 60)
Even tactics from 60 to 90mins.

Shame to see you go Marv, another team dropping from Conf 2 only weakens the conference further. I get why you would want to move across although I'll be sticking around for a while longer yet. The game engine itself is bizarre at the moment, teams not winning when they should be and vice versa. Hopefully will bump into you in FL1 in a couple of seasons time.cheers man. It was either that or quit. The match engine has killed me recently and as a result I've just half arsed tactics recently and been destroyed in the league and the fl ladder. I haven't even been promoted from fl3 this time around ::) tag that along with no elite cup or champs shield has left motivation levels low, along with having a very hectic life outside of Sunday league. I'll hang around a bit and see what happens when my team peaks and if nothing special happens I won't buy anymore credits and let them fade away with the game.

Your team turned into a cpu last season when you was playing me in the division. I still remember going to your fixture list and looking at your previous tactic settings against other teams and to me it seemed that most game were set up accordingly.
That is why I was surprised because the next day it says i'm facing a cpu (your team) which means no one logged in for 30 days I think?
This happened day 36/47 last season - Thursday 16th May 2019.
I even took a screen pic because I was baffled. Still am if I am honest.

If you look at Monkey Hangers, they're a team near the bottom of 6-1-1 that is a Man Utd fan? Not sure if this means anything or not just found it strange that there has obviously been a division swap by Seagulls in Exile at some point earlier in the season.
EDIT: and looking at Monkey Hangers results, he's only managed in the last couple of games. Also, Seagulls in Exile's side is way too poor to get promoted to an x-1-1.

First of Gull, Mihai wasn't even directly accusing you. That was his opening statement. What he said was based on whatever information he had available, and even gave you the benefit of doubt by saying that there very well may be someone who is trying to make it look like you. Misguided or not, he wasn't saying anything about you as a person.
On the other hand, it seems like you are trying your best to defame everyone you don't like. What's the point of trying to suggest that there is a possibility of foul play simply because Mihai used to own Port Morrow? Unlike Mihai post, you are directly insulting my character suggesting I would do such a thing, and you have no reason to. You just pulled that out of thin air to stir up some drama. And why do you bring up Purple Gelato in the C2 thread? Are you insinuating that Kush is managing Sayan Warriors all of a sudden? And are you going to keep using every given opportunity to take a jab at Mihai, regardless of whether it's relevant to the C2 thread or not? And apparently you've done so in the past as well to Ag.

I'm sure Mihai did not know of the connection between Torquay and Brighton and assumed that Seagulls in Exile was an account run by Gull. I for myself, thought exactly the same thing (due to the team name) and when I asked Gull, he said it was not him. Even though Mihai did state he is not accusing anybody, I can understand to why Gull reacted in his way as he feels he is being accused of something he hasn't done. The conversation should have ended when I asked if Gull was in charge in which again he said no. The best thing you both should have done was to PM each other in game first rather than in the forums. Perhaps, I should have PM'ed Seagulls in Exile or even you Gull rather than asking on the forum... I apologise if my comments have caused any stir but that was not my intentions at all and I just want everything to be as fair as possible. You could then say then why didn't I do that against Saiyan? I felt that I had to call them out because it was going on season after season and not just to my team. I gave the benefit of the doubt in the beginning thinking it could have been a mistake etc but it was clearly not when looking at other match reports and they had to be called out.
Let's just move on please and enjoy the rest of the season. I'm chuffed to see that Mihai has finally dropped some points, thanks Peter 8)

I am disappointed with our UCB results this season.
We could have done much better, I kind of gave up myself once I sealed 1st place in my group but I did do my part as usual :P

Once again, one of my teams had 90 minutes psycho played against them resulting in two players out for the rest of the season. I am getting to the stage that I will alter my opinion about not playing psycho but join the trend and play it for 90 minutes wherever I can. Then see how that goes down with everyone.

Prevents the sub from coming on & being out of position, should one of your players pick up an injury. An injured player carrying on doesn't impact results as much as a player out of position would.

To be fair, looking at Experimental Eleven's "experiment" everything makes perfect sense about it. The only thing you'd need to worry about is if the formation is effective against other formations (which it appears to be). Majority of players needed to fit the formation are easy to train midfielders - if you can max out a couple of defenders & strikers you're well away, as it's been shown.
If you hadn't taken 6pts from me, it might have been in the bag for me this season! >:(

This was the final season for experimental 11 unfortunately. 1-8-1 probably surprised many, including myself.

Subs at the beginning of games has been around for a while, Brads.
Two reasons:
1. An injured player(s) rarely affect results
2. A player out of position will almost always affect results
If three subs are made at KO this will eliminate the chance of an out of position player getting subbed on.
Long term injuries to GKs sustained during the game can affect results, although on this occasion Mihai's GK picked up a 1 week injury which wasn't severe enough to have a negative impact on his performance.

Hi conference 2, not sure how any of you will remember the name but I'm back and I'm gunning for my conference 2 title again! My good mate Spiteri has just roped me back into playing for a bit again, so im going to see how the community still is here on this game. See you in a few seasons... Time to build a squad!

I absolutely agree there is a formation out there that can take over SL and make everyone change again, it’s just finding it!! Floriana with 4-1-3-1-1 does amazing.
Fingers crossed anyway. We can only hope. Back in the day I ran 352 attacking and had decent success with that. And later towards the end i did try 253 before it got as popular as it is now, but could never get it to work, even with the advantage of almost perfect gelling and morale every game.
Spiteri does amazing with 41311 and I've heard about him winning 211 with 181 aswell. And I mean, if that can win conferences then I'm sure any formation can!
I appreciate its pretty much about stats now from what I'm hearing. You have the best players it's not necessarily what formation you play, your in with a pretty good shout.
I was going to try 3412 coming back but essentially I'm hoping Xmas tree won't be terrible. 4 at the back and 5 midfielders too so we shall see.

I need to get tactics spot on tonight, I've been hit with injuries and 4 of my first 11 are out so you have a good chance.
