Manager Interview - Iwoop
« on: September 18, 2017, 06:13:49 PM »
Iwoop is the latest manager to take part in the manager interviews.

Please see to his Q&A's below.

Q. How long have you been playing Sunday League?

A. My extended history says i've been playing since 2002, but i think i've been active a bit longer than that. :0

Q. What got you in to Sunday League to begin with?

A, My son sent me a link to the site. He'd been playing himself for a few weeks. He later went on to moderate the forums for a while (Late555)

I'm possibly the oldest active member at 65yrs (someone will prove me wrong now)

Q. Were you on any other servers before the merge on to one server?

A. Yes. Planet Football, PTV1, PTV3, Newcastle. I think i had a spell on another sever but can't remember now.

Q. What are some of your biggest achievements on Sunday League?

A. I remember getting so excited in my first Elite cup final, i was still logged in at 3.30am.
Woke the Mrs up to tell her i'd won a shirt!
I still have a drawer full of sl shirts.

Q. Who is your biggest rival on Sunday League at the moment?

A. I don't have the same interest that i used to have, but everyone is a rival

Q. Why did you choose the team name you have?

A. It was the first thing that came to mind. I thought i'd only be playing for a week or two!

When i was looking for an email address on my first pc in the early 90s with aol i tried to keep it simple.
I tried with my name Ivor@aol.com. no joy. iwor? nope
I had success with iwopp@aol.com. eventually

iwopp has stuck with me since. I've even introduced myself as iwopp once

Q. What goals do you have for the future on Sunday League?

A. To try and remember to log in every day!
But seriously i still get a thrill from wining a major title.

Q. Which Conference would you say is the toughest right now on Sunday League?

A. I think the server is as tough as its ever been at the moment, and all conferences are hard to become champions

Q. Which Football team do you support and why?

A. Middlesbrough FC. My hometown.

Q. What is your favourite Football memory?

A. I'm old enough to remember 1966 world cup.
Georgie Best, Jimmy Grieves. I even watched Stanly Matthews weave his magic.
But Boro coming back from 3 goals down to reach the 2006 uefa cup final was magical

Q. Lastly, If you could change one thing on Sunday League, what would it be?

A. Absolutely nothing.
I love the randomness of some results. Even if you pick the right tactics and you have better stats, you can still get beat.
If it was just rock, paper, scissors, we'd have all left by now.
