Europa League 2015-2016
« on: December 14, 2015, 07:47:50 AM »
Harv didn't seem to be up for creating a Europa league thread.. so I've done you the honours.. you can post in here from now on  ;D ;D

Anyway the draw is today (12:00pm), teams in the pot are as follows :

Molde
Liverpool
Krasnodar
Napoli
Rapid Vienna
Braga
Lazio
Lokomotiv Moscow
Basel
Tottenham Hotspur
Schalke
Athletic Bilbao
Porto
Olympiakos
Manchester United
Bayer Leverkusen

Fenerbahce
Sion
Borussia Dortmund
Midtjylland
Villarreal
Marseille
St Etienne
Sporting Lisbon
Fiorentina
Anderlecht
Sparta Prague
Augsburg
Sevilla
Valencia
Galatasaray
Shakhtar Donetsk

Would be great to see Utd get Valencia.. give Neville the chance to knock Looney Fat Head out of the competition straight away  ;D ;D
Other than that, I guess Dortmund would probably be the best unseeded team out of that lot.

Forgot that the draw was today. I'm just hoping that Van Gaal is going to be playing the kids in this competition once we get some of our injured players back otherwise our involvement is probably going to give Citeh the Premiership title :-\

And apparently Van Gaal is the favourite with the bookies to be the next manager sacked lol. Ridiculous, you've got Van Gaal at 11/10 On and Maureen at 7/2 :o ;D ;D ;D

Hoping we're going to see some of our kids getting a chance to play. Joel Pereira, Andreas Pereira, Donald Love, Sean Goss, and Will Keane all deserve a chance imo. Am surprised that Josh Harrop isn't there too tbh, he's been fantastic since he joined the U21 side last season from the yoof ranks.

Don't you think that's a bit risky.. sending the kids out... seeing as this is your only real chance of making the champions league now.. even Looney Fat Head said so!

I hope the midgets batter you  :P ;D

We've already got 2 of our yoof academy products starting regularly in Lingard and Borthwick-Jackson, although Lingard is getting on a bit now lol. We may also see Love starting regularly as a right back due to injuries too. It's not that much of a risk if the youngsters are good enough.

United have had at least one academy product either in the starting eleven or on the bench for every senior game played in all competitions since 1937 :o

And we've now just appointed Nicky Butt as the U18 manager, another United yoof success. 8)

Yup, can't see it being a full house lol

Team news:

De Gea

Love McNair Smalling Blind

Herrera Carrick

Mata

Lingard Memphis

Martial

Bench: Romero, Schneiderlin, Weir, Keane, Riley, Poole, Pereira

13 players unavailable, can't believe that we've been this unlucky again with injuries again this season. All contact injuries, just like the majority of ours last season during the second half of the season :o :o :o

Really hoping that these guys on the bench take their chances with both hands.

Make that 14 injuries lol. De Gea injured during warm-up and Romero starts...leaving us with no substitute goalkeeper. :o

If anything happens to Romero expect Herrera to go in goal. He's pretty good between the sticks. ;D

Blimey. That was a mental passage of play lol. Memphis puts United a goal ahead after pure selfishness at the other end prevented FCM going a goal ahead. :o ;D ;D ;D

1-1 at halftime. United have been the better side just about.
