Thanks Dan, but it's a team effort and you set everything up  :) :) :)

Always want you involved as we were the original team that run the competition.

No problems with including teams from the lower divisions in the wildcard group, but maybe not double points, or include then in a 5 man group with the Division 1 teams and they would then earn double points if they beat a top team

Cheers

We'd never have won it without the Borg's contribution  :) :) :)

I'd sooner go back to the old format, to make it fairer, maybe we can have a vote on it for next time

Cheers

I'd 100% agree here and go back to the normal format. I didn't voice my opinion as I wanted the tournament to run as I guess its nice to try something different but I didnt/ don't agree with the double points thing.

As we've seen it only takes 1 top manager with a second team in a lower division to completely change results.

I've done the maths for you all without the double points teams in and the adapted results are COMPLETELY different, with only conference 2, 6 and 5 staying 2nd, 7th and 8th respectively. Here is the adapted table for those who are interested:

1st. Conference 1 -  104 points (previously 3rd ) 138 points -  34 points
2nd. Conference 2 - 98 points ( previously 2nd ) 146 points - 48 points
3rd. Conference 4 - 88 points ( previously 4th ) 124 points - 36 points
4th. Conference 8 - 76 points ( previously 6th ) 110 points - 34 points
5th. Conference 7 - 75 points ( previously 1st!!! ) 155 points - 80 points
6th. Conference 3 - 72 points ( previously 5th ) 122 points - 50 points
7th. Conference 6 - 52 points ( previously 7th ) 90 points - 38 points
8th. Conference 5 - 49 points ( previously  8th ) 49 points - 0 points

So the adapted, would have been winners were conference 1 and the actual winners conference 7 finishing 5th! Hence why I'm against this format going forwards. It was nice to try it once I guess but I wouldn't join using this format again.

I feel you have to perform to win the ucb and earn your spot by being in the top league in your conference and attract attention from the ucb captains.

I feel this time around, and this may sound harsh, but please let me have my opinion, as after all we all do get an opinion... that the 4 conference 7 participants without the Borgs second team double points didn't deserve to be called winners of the ucb, with the exception of Brazilian piggys.

The brazillian piggys won there ucb group.
Aston villains came 4th in there ucb group
The kc shuffle and roman empire both finished 7th in there group.

That's not really a winning performance, yet this time it was enough.

Remember I'm saying I didn't mind it running this way this time and it is only my opinion and no offence was meant to be caused, I just feel as this is the first time its ran with a wildcard it has spewed the overall ucb results table up a bit???

No hate mail please.. Just an individual voicing the alternate view.. Which is always needed in life for balance  ;) :o

I have to agree, it was quite disheartening to be doing so well in our groups and then ending up 3rd. Rich and jon won their groups and i came 2nd (still hurts lol). Pretty difficult to discredit those stats. Even if the wildcard just got regular points instead of double i wonder how it would have looked?

I agree totally guys

The old format was and is best with the top 4 teams from each conference competing.

No offence taken marv 😁😁😁

We were terrible and unworthy winners

I also agree, the old original format works the best.

Mainly did it to get the UCB up and running again & back on the map.

Any others interested?
We can wait to see who wins the current X-1-1's and they can be next season captains and if they do not wish to participate then the 2nd place could be the captain. Sign up sheet will follow at the end of the season.

P.S I don't expect to be picked for 4-1-1 but can do the draw and reports as always a long with Deca
