As a long serving manager on sl1 so far I've kept my opinion fairly quiet but feel like I need to say that the training benefits need to stay, therefore I voted keep.

Now, without looking I'm pretty sure in saying that most teams entering the gold cups will all still have a full friendly training list, and enter because they want to win it and build a nice history page, (this is my reasons anyway) and that the training is neither here nor there. Top managers in the game wont think.. oh sod it if I can save 2500 credits on entering 1 gold league to get 30 games worth of training then I wont bother with my friendly list... No. That's not how it works. The top managers will all still on day 1 of a new season fill their friendlies for the training. It's not suddenly gunna make me not organise training in the hope I get a gold league spot.

Now if people are using it for saving money on training then fair bloody play I say. These things fill fast so it's a risk doing it that way, if there is anyone actually doing it that way atall.. I still manage to get in them more often than not by paying attention or sometimes even just being on at the right time. If you want to save a handful of credits and risk getting in a gold league and not organise friendlies crack on. Top teams would not do this and if there are lesser teams doing it to train cheaper worse players to save money I'd still back myself to beat them in every game I play against them, i wouldn't start getting my knickers in a twist about how they are getting an unfair advantage. We're talking about maybe 1 team per gold league. Get over it.

Life's not fair. Go and beat them and be done with it. Everyone has the oppurtunity to enter both gold leagues and friendly games. How they choose to spend credits in this game is upto them. Its not an unfair thing atall. How you choose to spend your credits is up to you the player.

Im trying to understand the counter argument but really I just think it's a load of b*llocks actually. The only bit I do maybe understand is if a lesser team enters and doesn't set tactics for some and does for others. But again this happens everywhere. This has happened in FL1 over the last few seasons with teams leaving etc. I forget tactics from time to time, (quite often actually) and don't want to be called a match fixer over it. At the end of the day make sure you set tactics for every game, win all your games you can and that's the best you can do. Nobody is out there match fixing in gold leagues. The only way this happens is 2 teams or more being entered by the same manager. That's not cool.

Soon people will be saying to remove training/morale from things like the champions shield claiming it's unfair  ::)

It's also funny tjat most of the people moaning are the ones that are in the majority of gold leagues anyway  ::)   ;D

So if you find yourself regularly (maybe always) kept out of the Gold league you will accept that with a smile?
I'm absolutely not going to lose sleep over it. If I'm in, cool. If I'm Not, cool. Anyone getting annoyed at that seriously needs to check themselves.

63% of voters want things to stay the way there are at the moment. How long do we need to wait to declare the result as final?

Modern medical advice is that we should all check ourselves regularly regardless.

Swimming pools, traffic lights and when passing building sites are not the best places to follow this advice. Just saying.

I'd reccomend the gp's for any of that, as i agree you'd probably get thrown out of your local swimming baths... mind you what you do in your own home is nobodies business  8)

A bit late but been having a brainstorm with meself
Why not just stick multiple 8 team Gold leagues over the pre season so no one loses out on the extra training.
Start on Day 40ish
Then run 1 league of 8 like we used to have ? 1st come etc
If you want full training then you should be paying for friendlies :)
Game needs cash to run or it will die for all of us

Pre Season Gold is open and I’ve kept it the same. I know it’s late. Works been mental.
Next season it’ll change. Not quite ironed it out yet. Maybe multiple smaller leagues. It will only run in pre season though with training benefit.

Really? The poll here shows a majority want it to stay the SAME!!!!

That said, there were some good suggestions in this thread. I would recommend that any proposed changes are put to a vote and only those backed by a majority are implemented.

Until it can be proven that every manager voting only voted once (for themselves), and/or will do so in any future poll on the matter (and not multiple times - once for each of their teams), then any such poll surely/is/would be an irrelevance?

Angele,

That sounds like something that Donald Trump might say! If you don't believe the poll, then use this thread.

Angele,

I don't (without evidence) believe any poll on this forum where there is room for (as some would want to believe is acceptable) a slight advantage available to be gained. And while there are managers with multiple teams (some who have already publicly argued for no changes), that will not change.

But since it seems things WILL change, it's all moot now and at the end of this coming season any "advantage" will be available to any who choose to take up the option. Which will clearly be fair (and a shame only for those who feel they can't compete with better managers without extra help). Obviously  :-*

Oh, okay, that's a shame. I've been eagerly checking and waiting for it to open. I really enjoy the competitions since they usually contain 15 other high quality teams to play against (regardless or not of the training bonuses - that doesn't mean anything to me).

I am just thankful that I won the last Gold League and got a trophy in my cabinet before it all gets messed about, which is exactly what I enter the gold leagues for.

That's a very valid point. There are lots of private leagues which hold little or no prestige. Winning a Gold League is something that you can be proud of. It means a lot more than winning the "my dog has a sore leg" league.

Looks like both have been reset with the Official Gold (open Thursday 26th 7am) and Pre Gold (Opening Day 40)

Interesting twist

I like the idea personally!
Ocean City Orioles - C1
Arsenals Invincibles  - C4
London Heat Colts - C6
The Wizard of Ozil - C7
