Hi Guys,

Not sure who has been called a cheat and why,

All i was suggesting is that only the points from Conference vs Conference are counting towards the overall winner of a conference battle. It's quite easy to work out.

Cheers

Deca

Hello Deca, your suggestion is very valid and one that I would be open to.

The cheating comments did not come from you.

So if there is another inter-conference challenge it will be all nice and genteel and PC(?), in fact just another ordinary PL with no real distinguishing factors such as being a proper "team" competition where being a team can actually affect the overall final result and in which almost half the matches will be against teams from my own conference.

Nothing, I think, that will be of interest to me.

In real life the main issue with match fixing is the gambling aspect, but you do still have the sporting fair play rules where a sporting event should be played out as intended without giving unfair advantages
it does still happen though like in formula one where there are team orders to let a team mate pass
but that aside this is a conference battle so i cant comprehend why games against your own conference should count even if it is easier to work out
we do it with many other tournaments and they are lot more complicated then this one
in my opinion the only fair way and logical way is to only count the cross conference games like the title suggests

Was just about to write about F1! Only couple weeks ago Hamilton got let past to win to benefit the TEAM on winning the championship! Very harsh on cove to saying his cheating there was no rules just to beat the opposing conference. Don’t like to get involved to much but don’t think this would of come to light if conference 7 was winning.

But it wasn't.

And all I (and team-mates) did was play to the rules with nothing to stop C7 teams doing the same (or complaining before matches had been played).

And if changing the rules (for whatever reason) part way through a competition just because a few people have decided they disagree with them is considered a proper thing to do then it's not for me.

I wouldn't be interested in an average PL involving half the teams I would play against being teams in my own conference and doing it on an individual/non-team basis so see no point in taking part in any more conference challenges.

Day  25

Again, apologies  for the lack of updates but i am still enjoying my extended holiday   ;D

Conference three have stretched their lead to 32 points with just 5 rounds of matches to go. It looks like  conference three are in the driving seat but one or two good days for conference 7 would change all of that......

Come on conference 7, make this interesting, you can do it  :)

  conference 3 - 295 points
Conference 7 - 263 points

one important point, i noticed people changing the rules of the competion lately. I know you are only trying to help but to be fair, you cant change the rules mid competition.Any rule change would have to be made at the beginning of a competition, not now.

Day 28

Almost at the end and conference three has a comfortable lead and could clinch the title on day 29.

conference three      335 points
Conference seven      292 points

The fun continues for one more round at least but hopefully two more  ;)

Day 29

WE HAVE A WINNER

It was a close competition, for a long time before conference three squeezed in front and they held that lead to the end. With one round left, conference three cannot be caught.

I want to say thanks to everyone for playing. I hope that you all enjoyed it. Sorry again for the lack of reports, my holiday ends tomorrow although i have to stay overnight in London before I get home.  :(

Conference 3 - 347 points
Conference 7 - 304 points

THE FUN ENDS TOMORROW  :'(

Day 30

FINAL SCORE

CONFERENCE 3 - 357 POINTS
CONFERENCE 7 - 316 POINTS

I just want to say thanks to everyone who took part. I hope that everyone enjoyed this competition and I hope that everyone enjoyed it. As I said earlier, I don't mind what the result is, I just wanted to create something new to add to the game.
