Friendlies

With the reduced activity here and no sign of the pre season gold leagues been restarted, it is getting very difficult to get friendlies set up. I have no friendly today and still have two slots to fill at the end of the season.

If people are struggling to fill their friendly slots, talk here and the sundayleague community will try to help.

I don't think it helps with there being eighteen computer teams in the x11's on day one of the new season

Never games scheduled before the ICC and it's usually done in blocks,so my last two weeks have gaps
I have about 20 waiting to be allocated.

I think  lot of people are going to struggle to get their friendlies fill this season. I hope I'm wrong but no harm to highlight this now.

Hey all,

I am just trying to understand why you and others are struggling to fill up slots. I have pretty much filled mine by ticking and challenging all 35 teams in my Friendly Ladder. Any challenges that nobody accepts gets automatically accepted within 48 hours. During that time, I have accepted some challenges sent to me = in the end 44 challenges accepted and/or automatically accepted.

It's all in the Friendly Ladder rather than challenging people individually per se. The only problem is that you don't have long to do it as everybody's slots get filled up quickly if they do things this way. I tend to get mine sorted early morning on Day 1.

I think if you can get your friendlies sorted in day one or two that you will be ok.

If you have slots to fill in days 3 or 4, it becomes very hard as few people still have free slots. Last season, i had no friendlies for days 46 and 47. This season, all my slots are full but I am sure some people have empty slots still to fill.

I still maintain that there aren't enough teams in the challenge group to go round; they take too long to accept those not accepted or rejected; that the match engine is *STILL* refunding teams before the schedule is full (and no I don't believe they're full either!) so get these sorted, and people won't have so much of a problem filling up.

Whilst we're at it, I'd like to see *all* conferences having the same teams to pick from because it's been apparent for a long time that certain teams seem to have a far easier selection than others!

I've no friendly today.  I had four unfilled days at the end of last season so I have had 5 days with no friendly. 

I've my slots filled until the 30th of March, that's day 37. I've got ten slots still to fill for this season. If anyone is looking for friendlies, please invite me :-)

Regarding the first paragraph --- Refusals and Refunds will go out if the challengee doesn't have a fixture gap that matches one in the challenger's list --- or if they don't want to play the challenger (eg some folk consider the Friendly league important and will only play "points" matches and will refuse all others).

As for the second paragraph --- well that makes no sense to me whatsoever. Explanation/clarification please??

I've been travelling for most of the last week. It's day 7 of the season and I have NO FRIENDLIES arranged for the entire season. Not one single one. I would appreciate any friendly requests please. I can't compete without friendlies. Looks like I can write this season off.

Maybe next time your away at the beginning of a Season you could ask for a Caretaker Manager to play pre-season and start setting up friendlies

Or, slightly cheaper(?), check right down the leagues to see which teams are actually active (and look at "who's on line"). And I assume all those who have posted have challenged each other (H&A)  .

PS Just noticed "We Play Like Girls" --- Conference 1, League 3, Division 1, Northwest Region ---  is (or has been) logged in very recently?  They have 5 friendlies listed (so clearly do play them) and, clearly, plenty of spaces.

If they are a team struggling to get friendlies (or not really interested) then I apologise for getting it wrong.
