5 long-term injuries at the start of this comp have led me to an amazing 5 draws from 5 games  ::)
Sorry Seg :(

No worries, still in with a shout of winning it ;)

Walpoles Wipeouts & Pilsners of Belgium             +26 GD 42pts
The Seg & sMAsHEd                                                  +23 GD 41pts
Old Fullerians AFC & King Kennys Army                 +10 GD 39pts
SatinStorm & Rebel Rovers                                       +11 GD 31pts
Rekrap CF & Nanosoft                                                 +4 GD 31pts
BALDBEAN FC & Arcadia Bay                                    -32 GD 22pts
Bristol Saints & Corinthian Clowns                           -18 GD 19pts
Rathpeacon & Fulhams Finest                                  -25 GD 19pts

Extremely close at both ends of the table with 4 games remaining!
The only change in the table is The Seg & sMAsHEd jumping to 2nd, only 1 point behind the leaders.

Walpoles Wipeouts & Pilsners of Belgium  keep up the pace and manage to stay on top. But with 3 pairs realistically in the running to lift the title, can they hold on?

There are also 3 teams battling it out to win (or not) the wooden spoon. Who will panic first and get Big Sam in to manage them over the line?!

Big Sam coming in. Or Woy Hodgson. Haha. Love the write ups!

I reckon we can do it Marv. Let's smash the last few and take a surprise title for the Old Kings. Ha

Palace have already played the Woy Hodgson card, so he's now unavailable! 😂

I wish haha. Had a horrible back half of this league and can't buy a win. Sorry for being a backpack. Knew my team wouldn't be strong enough to compete currently but I enjoy all these competitions that used to be fun back in the day so I couldn't not enter. Hopefully this runs again soon when hopefully I'm a little more stronger team wise and can actually compete lol

Congratulations to Walpoles Wipeouts & Pilsners of Belgium! Champions of SL Doubles for Season 171!
They dominated the competition from the very beginning, so worthy winners indeed.

With 10 draws between them, The Seg & sMAsHEd just fall short of the top spot. Converting just 1 of them into a win could have seen them crowned winners.

Completing the top 3 are Old Fullerians AFC & King Kennys Army.
At the halfway point, it seemed like they were on the charge to the top of the table, but unable to continue that momentum towards the end, they had to settle for the bronze medal.

A strong final few games for Rathpeacon & Fulhams Finest was enough to save them from being awarded the dreaded wooden spoon. That unfortunate honour instead goes to Bristol Saints & CORINTHIAN CLOWNS.

Walpoles Wipeouts & Pilsners of Belgium             +28 GD 50pts
The Seg & sMAsHEd                                                  +23 GD 49pts
Old Fullerians AFC & King Kennys Army                 +11 GD 47pts
SatinStorm & Rebel Rovers                                       +18 GD 44pts
Rekrap CF & Nanosoft                                                 +9 GD 42pts
Rathpeacon & Fulhams Finest                                  -22 GD 29pts
BALDBEAN FC & Arcadia Bay                                    -45 GD 25pts
Bristol Saints & Corinthian Clowns                           -22 GD 24pts

Thanks to all teams who participated and see you next time!  8)

Awesome tournament and always enjoyed sl doubles. Hope it gets run again soon.

1 thing I will say also is that back in the day I didn't mind players choosing who they wanted to pair with as alot of player knew friends who also played, or just entered their own 2 teams. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the random selecting of pairings too but just throwing it out there also if anyone also had this same thought.

Sorry I couldn't drive any more points home king Kenny, I did what I could with what I have :)

I don't mind people choosing who they want to partner with, we can do this next time if that's what people would prefer to do. I do also have a few different ideas for future iterations!

However, maybe it's just me, but I do believe that entering 2 of your own teams defeats the spirit of the competition.

Thanks Stupac for running this and well done to our winners.

Delighted to avoid coming last. We seemed to get a few results over the last 3 games to leap up to 6th  :D

My team is in a right mess. I changed from 451 to 253 last season and it was the worst thin i ever did  :(
