Seen JBT live quite a few times. First time I saw him was at the Isle of Wight Festival a few years back. Mid afternoon slot, normally a lot of people milling about taking no notice of the band playing. John Butler starts playing the guitar and just about everybody stopped and listened. Went out and bought all his albums on import from Australia after the festival and have bought every one since.

He's a decent human being too.

Laat saw them at the Southampton Guildhall last year (July 2011). The new band members he has put together are even better in my opinion (he likes to change the bassist and drummer every so often to freshen things up).

just heard Craig David's atmospheric 'Walking Away'... You sometimes forget in the years that pass how utterly fucking shit he was...
Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Work hard, be nice.

Doesn't sound like a decent human being if you're a bassist or a drummer :o :P

Didn't know where to put this as there's no condolences thread but this place seems right as he was a musician among other things.

R.I.P Adam Yauch aka MCA aka Nathaniel Hornblower.

Founding member of The Beastie Boys. He passed away yesterday after a three year battle with cancer.

Craig David went to a couple of my friend's kick-boxing classes in Southampton a few years back. He was useless as a kick-boxer too.

Went and saw Jack Savoretti on Thursday night. Superb singer songwriter and excellent live. Might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Support acts weren't bad either if you like folksy kind of rock and mellow stuff.

Dear Alice from the 1978 concept album The Mad Hatter by Chick Corea. The best concept album I've ever heard and that track has the best bass solo I've ever heard from Joe Farrell. 8)
