I should have that on my hard drive somewhere, have all of Satriani's stuff. The man who taught Steve Vai to play 8)

Funnily enough I've always thought that Vai was the better guitar player but where it really counts - songwriting - Satriani is streets ahead.

Still, you're not going to find a better songwriter or guitarist than Frank Zappa was. Probably the most underrated guitarist out there, and I'm still convinced he was killed by the US secret services due to his communist links - he was the Minister of Culture for Cuba :o Mercury in his drinking water in the 80s, that's all it will take to kill someone from prostate cancer in the 90s.

I was thinking about Zappa the other day when I got a yellow snow alert from the Met Office at work.

My boss had sent the alert on. I read it, taking it seriously, then when I got to the part about the yellow snow alert and the possibility of it being raised to amber, I thought "this is a wind up".

But no, the Met Office really do have a yellow snow alert.  ;D

Al Stewart - Accident On 3rd Street. I've always liked folk-rock and of all the folk-rock artists Al Stewart is my favourite. 8)

I've been continuing with my folk-rock vibe, am on Heart's Dreamboat Annie. Bloody hell, Ann Wilson hasn't aged too well...she used to be a right hornbat in the 70s and has put on a shitload of weight going by this 2002 performance :o

Have also been listening to Simon & Garfunkel, love this song.

Might have to download some of Paul Simon's solo stuff, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover is another one of my favourites, nice shuffle from Steve Gadd on the drums. Awesome. 8)

One of my favourite Peter Gabriel songs. He's done some great solo stuff. Certainly puts Phil Collins to shame, and Collins is a much better musician too...he's wasted a shitload of talent after Genesis. >:(
