Title: AWOL
Post by: RParker9 on April 20, 2022, 12:55:58 PM
I've had at least 2 AWOLs every night for around the last week. On rehab every night. My best midfielder has been AWOL for 1 week for 5 days in a row. Then my new midfielder is away for 3 weeks.

Am I doing anything wrong or is it just horrendous luck? It's doing my head in.

I had a left mid that was almost awol for 2 seasons, had to sell him, only cost me 10k 🤦‍♂️

Oh great. Hope that doesn't happen. Can't be on with that! Fingers crossed

I think some players are more susceptible to getting awols then others.

Not every player is the same as some train quicker then others so there may be a correlation with attributes/player characteristics and awols but I have never really researched into this.

From past experience, I've had some players who have gone awol on many times during the season (my left back this season with 5 awols) but I see this decreasing over time when they are in their prime along with starting in the first 11 more often.

He obviously knew I was mad, my LM is back today and in good time too. The lovely person I played last night decided to play psycho all game for the 1st time all season and injured 2 players. Some people are so nice!!

Last season I had 1 injury all season, and can’t even remember having an awol, I get to the top league and I have an injury every league game, lost 4 players last night, can’t field a team today, so all the hard work you put in to leagues and money you just get screwed, I may as well put myself in 1-3-4!!!

Same here. Currently sat with 5 injuries, 4 of them to my strikers. Can't field a fit team today. I get a new injury or AWOL every night.

There's more risk of injuries in x-1-1 because of the less amount of computer teams & the fact that human players play nutter / psycho with certain refs.

I know it's more likely but sometimes it's just unlucky. My last 4 games

Both normal aggression - 8 week injury, conceded on level as a result.
Both pansy aggression - 8 week and 12 week injury, conceded whilst on top as a result.
Both normal aggression - 8 week injury.
Opposition normal aggression - 2 week injury.

But we fight on!!

That's unlucky - normal v normal & pansy v pansy against computer teams you probably wouldn't have had those injuries!

My 3rd best midfielder now has 8 AWOLs. When he's not AWOL he always plays Division matches. I'm pretty consistent with Rehab each night. I may have forgotten to log in once or twice this season after midday games... but this is madness. He's been out for 28% of the season

Seems pretty serious though, he's having an argument with his girlfriend..

That sucks mate. I know there are players that can have a horrendous history of AWOLs but this does eventually go away. My main LB would have atleast 6 AWOLS for the first 3 seasons and now he's in his 5th season, part of my first 11 and only has 1 AWOL so far this season.

I'm very confident his awols will dramatically decrease within the next couple of seasons but it's your choice if you would want to get a replacement. I have personally never replaced a player with a bad awol track record because I know it improves over time.

Most of the time you won’t actually get an injury whilst nutter and psycho, it’s the normal and pansy where I pick up most of my injuries!!

Stick him on the bench as an unused substitute tonight. Even though he is awol his morale will rise a little giving him a better chance of turning up tomorrow. That will help break the consecutive awol days, but he is probably always going to be prone to going off once in a while when in the starting 11 still.

I had a quality AMC about 5 seasons ago who was also a fast trainer and very rarely injured, but he went awol 5-7 times a season so I replaced him. If I were using a more conventional formation I probably would have kept him for the games he was available. But I couldn't afford an unreliable player like that when juggling attacking and defensive players in a squad.

Thanks Kush and spiteri. I followed advice and put him on the subs. Now he's back.

Bought him at 16. He's 3 seasons old. Hopefully gets better.

Wonder if AWOLs are tied to their moral likes. This guy likes the pub crawl

Has anyone ever tried putting there players on a pub crawl 9 of my squad like it. If I weren't fighting for FL3 I'm tempted to give it a go

Same player AWOL again.  >:(

30% of the season AWOL. Played in every game since his brief return. Rehab every night. Training changed every 4 days as usual.

Although I have noticed these last 2 AWOLs had training set to jogging x4. Perhaps it's related.

;D Stick him on the bench again. At least his morale is up from 61 to 90 now so the chances are he will be back available again tomorrow.
