Hi . . . again!
« on: May 01, 2020, 10:44:57 AM »
Hi all - just a quick message to say hi and to see who was still around!

Back for my third crack at things after two successful stints before. I can't even remember why I stopped playing last time? I think something happened with credits and every player in the market had like 20 bids of 10,000 and it was crazy difficult to rebuild? Something like that, it was two years ago!

Looking forward to getting back stuck into C3 - looks like most of the old guard are still there, plus one or two new strong teams. Hopefully will be competitive in three seasons . . . but first, a few days sussing out this transfer market - 4-5-1 is so dull! ;)

Welcome back mate.

Good luck in the TM, it is atrocious at the moment and with other managers also returning recently, it will most certainly be harder and more expensive to buy the good players.

Welcome back mate.

I was actually speaking to Kush about this when I first started back in the TM. I've changed formation to include some AMID's but I think you could also use ADEF and DMID to get some creative formations for a more reasonable price.

The game is also fairly untested with different formations outside of 451, 352, 253 and 523/433 for Longball games so I'm trying my hand at a lesser used formation at the moment.

Good luck on building your team.

Cheers both - yeah, I put  a few offers on what I thought were some mediocre players last night and they all went for 10k!

Guessing my team is going to be older and not your stereotypical looking side.

Yes I would suggest the normal 500 credit players and with an intense training regime, you should be able to compete with the big boys after 4 seasons or so.

As Chazz said, maybe you could save some credits if you perhaps opted to try a new formation system. I have had huge success playing a 4-1-4-1 winning an FL1 title, Getting into a few final majors (winning my first Elite Cup) and winning Conference 2 on a few occasions. I am also now exploring the 4-1-3-1-1 formation and trying to figure out it's traits.

Good luck mate :)

I liked the look of 4-1-4-1. Going for a more radical one though which I'm excited about (market permitting) - Got to try and build a squad that won't all need replacing at the exact same time. That's always the beauty of the game. Only budgeting for 500 to 700cr players so will be picking up those with potential.

Just been looking at the Newbie forum and the player position guides. I feel completley new again haha. Where it has a midfielder or a striker with (CR) or (CL) is that suggesting a right sided or a central player can play there?

That's correct yes. Also don't forget central players that can play on any side with losing out on performance :)
