TCL QF RESULTS:
FC Town of Luton 3 - 2 Super Imps
Defending champions Super Imps have been eliminated from this seasons TCL in a game that had everything. a combined 5 goals, 42 shots and 22 fouls in what was the game of the round. Martin's men started the strong and surprisingly only took 9 minutes to score thanks to a thunderous shot from distance by Harold Cornetto. It took King Rich 19minutes to find an equaliser on the 30th minute after some brilliant tika taka and a lovely lofted ball in which Fuzzy Duck was able to header in a goal. After some tactical changes in the 2nd half, It was the Imps who took the lead on the 67minute with an amazing lob from right back Moe Lester. Replays show it seemed that Lester was trying to cross the ball in and not shoot, but it ended up going in anyway. Rich took a risk and kept attacking but unfortunately it left his defence fragile and FC Town of Luton managed to equal it 2-2 just 2 minutes before the end of time. With extra time, players fatigue levels were declining at a rapid level and it was Luton's Trip Hazard who managed to score the winning golden goal on the 111th minute and send his team to the semi finals.
UNIV. CRAIOVA 1 - 0 Hoarse Whisperers
2 legends in SL met up for this exquisite tie and it was always going to be a very close score line. Mihai opted to attacking from K.O and this paid dividends after dominating possession and took a lead on the 18th minute with a great solo effort by Artie Choke. Nij knew he had to change it up in the second half and went all out gun blazing dominating Mihai for most spells but unfortunately was not able to find that equaliser. Nij will be upset with the referee Lewis Lummox today as he only showed a yellow card to Carl Arm for headbutting. However, A goal that was ruled out for offside on the 81st minute for Hoarse Whisperers showed to be the correct decision thanks to SLVAR. Mihai's strong defence were able to seal them a place in this seasons TCL semi final.
Red Star Knights 1 - 2 Steaua Sudului
An all 6-1-1 tie with both teams knowing each other very well. With both still battling for the top spot in this seasons C6, both wanted to make a statement and show who was the dominate team. With snowy conditions, Nish opted to use a 4-2-4 longball whereas Catalin went with his usual 4-5-1 use wings and this paid off and Steaua Sudului took the the lead on the 17th minute. They can thank a pigeon for distracting RSK's goalkeeper. Both teams came attacking in the second half and Nish was desperately trying to look for that needed goal but they were caught out on 57minute thanks to a rocket of a shot from outside the penalty area by Cosmo Kramer. Things went from bad to worse for Nish as Moe Skeeto suffered a concussion but was forced to continue playing. With nothing to lose, Nish went CA for the last 15 and this paid massive effect as they finally registered a goal but it was a little to late and not enough to send them to the semi finals.
CSI-Ramsgate 0 - 1 Park My Seagull
In windy conditions, it was Gull's Park My Seagull who found the only winning goal to send them to the semi finals. Brian's CSI-Ramsgate opted to go straight attacking mode after K.O but was efficiently countered by Gull. A dink right under the goalkeeper's nose gave the away side the vital goal they needed to try and see the rest of the game through and that is exactly what happened. Brian could not force a way back in to the game as Gull continued dominating possession (37-63). A handball appeal for a penalty was declined by Terrence Trendy for the home side on the 59th. An enraged Louise Lombard was booked for obstructing the referee in regards to the decision. With half an hour left and still leading by a single goal, Park My Seagull opted to not risk it and change tactic to defensive and they managed to cling on 0-1 and book a place in the semi finals.
