Yeah, the OneGuide's pretty cool.
Most of the time I just use my remote control, as normal, but if it's not in reach I'll just give it a bit of "xbox, watch tv. Oneguide. Page down. Page down. Watch South Park" (for instance), and it generally works just fine.
It was still a little bit buggy last time I used it (probably about a week ago). Sometimes it'll try to go to a channel I don't have, and sometimes the shortcuts didn't come up onscreen. But most of the time it's fine.

Possible early signs that Microsoft's decision to free up the 10% GPU bandwidth previously reserved strictly for Kinect could make a real difference:

Destiny is now expected to run at 1080p/30fps on both PS4 and XB1 according to Bungie, whereas before it was expected the XB1 version would only manage a lower resolution.  :)

Nice that they have that flexibility.

Xbox.com finally updated so you can see your Xbox One achievements.. + your 360 ones too.

Looks like in July we will see the achievement snap mode - looking forward to that seeing as the achievements app still takes an age to load.  Also the double-tap to snap mode.. double tapping the xbox guide button bringing up a list of snappable apps to snap onto the side on the screen.. handy!

I reckon we'll see LocoCycle on GWG next month - the trailer looked so cheesy I almost wanted to play it.. but I'm hoping Crimson Dragon - although I think it'll be a few months before that is made free as its on offer at the moment.

Edit :  My Xbox One Collection - w00t!

Cheers.

I've got 11 games on the One, with 6015 achievement points earned (actually 12 including Max, but that's not on my list as I've not played it yet).
You've got 12 games and 8825 chievos.

Free games for Gold members on Xbox One this July:
"Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition" & "Max: The Curse Of Brotherhood"

Wtf Microsoft?!
You're giving us two games every month, but one of them will be a repeat?
They could maybe get away with a repeat six months later, but rolling a game from month one into month two is taking the piss.
And Guacamelee doesn't look that good. I've had it on Stream for about a year but not even tried it once, yet.

Very disappointing.

Meanwhile, on the Xbox 360, "Gotham City Imposters" and "BattleBlock Theater".
Awesome :|

Dunno, Guacamelee is not supposed to be that bad.. will be giving it a go no doubt...

Shame its only one new game.. maybe in the future that will change as more games get released and games get older

Fingers crossed for two new ones in August, but I'm not overly optimistic.
I've not checked but someone told me the terms say we'll get two games a month, and at least one of them will be new to GWG - so I'd imagine next month they'll give us one new one (my money's on Lococycle or Crimson Dragon) plus one old one (presumably either Spartan Assault will return, or they'll roll Guacamelee forward).

I'll definitely download Guacamelee, and give it a look, but I'd been hoping they'd dazzle us for the first few months to rope more people in - perhaps with Zoo Tycoon or Ryse.

I take it back.
I'm enjoying Guacamelee a lot more than I thought I would.

Not content with pissing off early adopters by killing the console's USP and slashing it's RRP, and bringing out loads of marketplace deals on the 360 for people who didn't bother upgrading to the new console, Microsoft have decided to kick us in the teeth once more - by offering people $75 of xbox credit for upgrading to the One...

Marvellous.

Just goes to show how much of a flop the console has been so far. It isn't flopping as hard as the Wii U by any means but the console is in trouble. The VGC figures are overtracked imo, I can't see there being more than 4.5m consoles in homes worldwide which is only around 1m more than the Wii U this time last year. Microsoft's silence on sales as opposed to shipments is deafening.

It's only a matter of time before the PS4 has sold twice as much as the One, and once PS4 SKUs sell twice as much as One SKUs publishers are going to start to take notice. The Xbox One is in big trouble at the moment, I'm surprised the press haven't started picking up on it yet tbh. :-\

August's games with gold:

Xbox One: Crimson Dragon and Strike Suit Zero (available all month).
Xbox 360: Motocross Madness (first half month) and Dishonored (second half month).

Nice to get two new freebies on the One this month - even if they're not exactly the most popular of games (I recall Crimson Dragon getting very poor reviews; I think Strike Suit Zero fared better).
