Memphis joining United is now official. The international transfer window opened on Wednesday just gone...a bit daft that it isn't the same date for all countries tbh. :-\

Firmino gone to Liverpool for £29m... who?

Cech gone to Arsenal for 11m.  Fuck sake.. not going to begrudge him a move.. but why give him to Arsenal.  On paper, selling our 33 year old reserve keeper for 11m is a good bit of business.. but we've no doubt just strengthened Arsenals side next season.  Begovic would be a half decent replacement.. hope we don't bother going for Rob Green.. personally think he's a shit keeper.

He's a good signing for them if it happens. Saw his stats from last season on Squawka when we were supposed to be interested in signing him. I can't imagine that we were though, unless he has mental health issues...that's the only reason I can think of why a player would choose the red scouse gits over United these days lololol :o ;D

If he joins United he's practically guaranteed Champions League football every season, doesn't have Brenda as a manager and will win trophies regularly. Perhaps he's joining the red scouse gits because he was confident of getting a regular starting place..?

Jones has signed a four year deal ;D

Despite all the grief he gets he made no defensive errors last season :o

Next you'll be saying Jonny Evans is a defensive stalwart..  ::) ;D

Let's say it how it is... Jones is an average but clumsy defender whose tackling can be atrocious at times.. less said about his penalty kicks the better... he's also fairly injury prone.

Despite all the grief he gets he made no defensive errors last season :o

United's win percentage (back in March) was 31% when Jones started.  Hilarious  ;D

Just wait and see. We'll have one of the best defensive records next season.

Looks like Ramos is staying at Madrid, at least according to his Mum.

United haven't offered enough for Schneiderlin and haven't had a second bid according to reports.

Ed Woodward is worth his weight in gold as far as making and closing commercial deals goes but he's bloody useless with transfer deals so far. We probably won't sign ANYONE until the last minute of the transfer window closing again. >:(

Looks like Turan has gone to Barcelona...fuck knows how they've managed that, unless it's a dodgy loan deal or something..? :-\

Nani and Van Persil are going/have gone to Turkey. Looks like Besiktas are sniffing around Hernandez too.

Van Gaal has confirmed that we're signing Darmian so subject to his medical we'll be seeing Memphis and Darmian coming in.

I can see us making another two or three signings - Otamendi, Schneiderlin and maybe a striker...Austin, perhaps..?

Well that's Darmian confirmed now. ;D

And Schweinsteiger is apparently as good as done.

Expect Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Otamendi to follow before the start of next weekend all going well. 8)

Expect a double unveiling tomorrow - Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin have both had medicals today.

I'm also expecting Otamendi and Gaitan to be done and dusted soon too.

Schweinsteiger signing reminds me of Ballack signing for Chelsea.. he had a few good games.. but basically it was just a big payday for him.

With these average signings, I'm quite content that united will not win a bean next season.. and harv will blame "needing time to gell" for the majority of the season.  ;D

Begovic officially signs for £8m... good signing for a backup.

Think Van Ginkel went the other way on loan for a season.

Schweinsteiger won't need any time to gel, that's why it's such a clever signing. He's well versed in playing Van Gaal's system and can slot straight into the injured Carrick's place without a problem. Schneiderlin will take anywhere from a few weeks to a few weeks to learn the system, Darmian won't take that long because all he needs to do is bomb up and down the pitch, overlapping with whoever is playing the 'false right winger' position at the time. Memphis will also have no problems gelling into the side because he's also well versed in Van Gaal's system from his time at Ajax and the Netherlands national side.

If we sign Nico Gaitan he's going to take time to gel in.

But any new players that need to gel in and learn Van Gaal's system should do so by November at the latest, the reason why the side didn't get on board around the same time last season was because Van Gaal was only able to field the same side two or three times during the season lol. Mata and Herrera were the last two players to understand things and we all saw a taste of things to come against Spurs, Liverpool and City until Carrick got injured again. Van Gaal's system is dependant on the defensive midfielder orchestrating the movement of the players either side of him and either side of the central striker. One minute the side will look like this:

De Gea

Valencia Smalling Jones Shaw

Herrera Carrick Young

Mata Roonster Fellaini

The next minute they'll look like this:

De Gea

Valencia Smalling Jones Shaw

Mata Carrick Young

Herrera Roonster Fellaini

And then this:

De Gea

Valencia Smalling Jones Shaw

Herrera Carrick Fellaini

Young Roonster Mata

Or any other combinations of those four players' positions. It's this constant switching and movement that completely destroyed Spurs, Liverpool and City and now we have one (soon to be two when Schneiderlin learns what to do as the number 6) replacement for Carrick United will continue playing this fast paced, fluid, unpredictable and attacking football that we caught a glimpse of during those three matches last season.

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised by United once the season starts.

Glad to see the Tinkerman back in the premier league.. to be honest, anyone would be better than the nob he replaced.

Looks like we are leading the race for Pedro at £20m... would be a good signing and would be fantastic working the counter attack with his speed.
