Looks like the deal's done, paid a bit too much but I've wanted him at United for a couple of years.

Looks like Baines is out of the picture for United according to Sky, happy about that because we don't need him. We've got Buttner and Fabio as cover for Evra.

...Lol

Buttner has gone out on loan and Coentrao can also play on the left wing and central midfield ;)

Leighton Baines could technically do both of those roles too...Doesn;t mean he'd be any good in them though.

That's where Coentrao and Baines differ ;)

Well, Baines can play on the wing too, he's a good enough attacking playing to do so, and lets be honest, if Moyes had to resort to playing Coentrao in midfield, what does that say about the regular United midfield?

Funniest thing is, theres loads of reports saying the paperwork wasn't completed in time and that the deal is a no go, so he might not even be a United player full stop...How does it feel that Arsenal had a more successful transfer window Harv?

*Cue a reply about how great the depth of the United squad is and that they didn't even need to make any signings, despite Chelsea, City, Spurs and Arsenal all significantly strengthening their team in more ways than United*

So United fans spend all summer mocking Arsenal for their lack of signings. Arsenal sign a world class midfielder and united sign...a thug who looks like a dandelion.

£27.5m when you could of got him at the end of July for £23.5m... lol.. Moyes is the new Wenger.. panic buying!

Fellaini's not a bad player.. he's just not what United need... people should remember United have a history of finishing in the top 3 aswell, I'm certainly not writing them off just yet... but theres a new manager, a few disappointing results and a lack of real movement in the transfer window... along with all their rivals considerably boosting their squads, the possibility of finishing outside the top 3 looks ever more likely this season.

Turns out that Buttner is still with United, pretty sure Sky said last night he'd gone on loan. And there's still no confirmation whether the Coentrao deal was done on time or not. He's more of a wing back than a left back so if we have got him in time he'll probably play on the left wing.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of contractual obligation that prevented United from getting Fellaini for 4m less, but that 4m isn't exactly going to break the bank.

I'm pretty pissed off that we left things to the last minute though, particularly with the Herrera deal. We won't be able to get him that cheap next Summer.

We'll have to wait and see what happens regarding our league position at the end of the season, I'm still confident that we'll retain the title.
