I must say that I'm totally hooked on Rocking Soccer,

look forward to seeing my little men run around the pitch each day  ;D ;D ;D

I'm glad I started at the bottom with a young squad, I created 4 players, and sold one  ;D ;D

I have 3 decent players on a season long loan, got an under 21 squad, now level 4 training complex, and like above, look forward to promotion and the TV revenue coming in.  :) :)

I've now got a grip on training, and like the fact you can develop a right sided player to play left or centre, I've started to save the experience points so that I can train a players main skill, i.e. passing, shooting.

The only thing I cant yet do is copy to Excel, there is a csv file download but the information is comma delimited, so useless for adding up totals for players increase in skills each week, etc.

Really hooked, so thanks to the man that sent the link

Cheers

Deca!!!

The CSV files are easy to work with in excel. You need to import the data rather than just open the file. If I get a few minutes spare at work tomorrow, I'll do a little tutorial on how to do it.

for anyone else struggling with this:

click on the link, open it with excel, highlight column A and do "text to columns", select "delimited" and use a semicolon as the delimiter.

Has anyone actually bought any credits (or whatever they're called) on here??

I was tempted to see if the benefits of VIP were worth it but a bank transfer is a bit of a pain in the backside to do

Just doing the tutorial on this. Looks a bit basic, but seems like fun.  ;)

Like SL2 it has potential only difference is the developers want to listen and make the game better rather than doing nothing

Hi Brads. Actually I have - twice in fact. Soon after starting (week or two I think if memory serves me right) I bought 4 VIP tickets. I used one give myself 2 star and 2 to extend then 1 for some credits, which I used at the time to create a new player (Nick Beckham! :D). And I'm almost ashamed to admit that I went doolally the other day and bought TWELVE VIP tickets for 46 Euros (a few pennies over £40!) which I used to upgrade to 3 star VIP (as you got credits for each 2 month extension)  and then extended to June next year! :)  I wanted to get 150 credits so I could buy those almost 500k credits to upgrade my stadium so that I've done and with the 4 credits a day I'm hopefully getting, I can then save up to create my 4th Player. I created 2 midfielders and a defender so far, after getting some sound advice from the forum and I have to say I'm hooked now too! :D I'm now in the process of upgrading my health centre to level 2 and when that's done early tomorrow sometime, I aim to start building the fan shop. After that I'm not quite sure what I should do for the best but at least I now have a fairly reasonable wadge of cash and expecting more on Wednesday when the current season ends - or at least I think that's when it ends? Then hopefully buy another 2 or 3 decent players - or may decide to leave that and build the youth centre instead? Not decided on that yet. Some of the times it takes to upgrade these things seems rather bizarre - nearly 2 weeks to upgrade a stadium from level 2 to 3 plus just under 900k. Sheesh someone's doing very nicely thank you. Trust these Ozzie builders or whover they are! :D  ;D

As for not wanting to pay by banker's draft, why not do what I do and pay via Paypal? If you don't have a Paypal account, I believe there's also a credit/debit card option as well?!

Anyway time to get on with something else now. At least I don't have a game until tomorrow and yes the Ozzie times have REALLY been confusing me as well but I worked out the time difference and used 3 credits to change my home game times to around the same time as SL usually kicks off the division games (not that it helped me last night as I dozed off before setting up but I'm sure my opponent was grinning this morning after discovering he won 6-1 (Leeds Legends if memory serves) ... whoever he may be!  :P

See y'all later.  :D

Sounds like your having plenty of fun  ;D

I didn't realise you could use paypal, that's helpful to know obviously I never looked deep enough into buying VIP tickets!

Thanks guys,

have worked out the csv file text to columns, the tutorial would be great too when available!!! :) :) :)

I purchased credits too, well worth it,

I really like the game,

I couldn't get on to SL1 this morning so couldnt set up and lost in the ICC final, and other games

I've so far lost 1 major, and a few league titles because of server issues and roll backs....... ;D ;D ;D

But I'm Deca, and never complain....... :) :) :)

:o it should only take 3.6 days to upgrade from level 2 to level 3 stadium. If you have the required attendances and the cash you should definitely do this - although I would wait until day 1 of next season otherwise you will just be spending unnecessary money on maintenance.

You should also get level 2 fan shop and, after getting level 3 stadium, get level 1 catering.

With a level 2 stadium and level 1 fan shop. you will get a maximum of $23,750 for a full house (that you get a bonus for attending)
With a level 3 stadium, level 2 fan shop and level 1 catering you will get $106,822

Over a season, that brings you in an additional $1.1m (taking into account the additional maintenance costs)

The youth centre is well worth having - even at level 3 that I have, it gives you some reasonable players. In addition, you need it to start an U21 squad and create players for that squad. The benefit of this is that your U21 players will then be able to play in U21 matches, getting 450 XP points for up to 20 games per season (9000 in total). You should easily be able to train them up to an acceptable level in a couple of seasons.

I'm a bit dubious about the merits of increased scouting, as I have tried scouting several areas to no huge benefit so I will probably leave that for a while.

I am currently on:

Stadium2$ 2 228Active
Training complex3$ 4 608Active
Scout's office2$ 750Active
Youth center3$ 5 184Active
Health center2$ 1 050Active
Fanshop2$ 4 995Active
I will be upgrading to level 3 stadium next, then getting catering level 1 and then saving up for level 4 stadium. This will bring me in a profit of about $4m / year - making me financially more stable - and I can then start to hammer the youth centre and training complex.

For the record, I lived in Yorkshire for quite a while when I was younger so I have not bought credits  ;D

and.....like a few others have mentioned, I am fairly hooked on the game. I still prefer the way that matches are played in SL, but the rest of RS beats SL hands down. It is precisely what we wanted and suggested when we were all asked about SL2 - that CG sadly failed to deliver.

I just created a non Catgames forum to discuss Rocking Soccer and Sundayleague:

http://sundayleague.freeforums.org/ucp.php?mode=register

which is probably more appropriate than discussing it on here.

Bought some VIP vouchers last night via Paypal. People might want to be aware they are added manually so don't show up right away. I wasn't aware of this at the time and PM'd an admin. Got back to me within a few hours.

Impressed.

I remember when CG were as helpful. Sad the way things have gone.

I tried to upload the tutorial on the new forum as a file attachment, but it doesn't allow the .doc or .docx file extensions, so if you PM me your e-mail address, either here or on RS, I'll e-mail it to you.

Scratch that, there's now a topic in there with it attached in a zip file.

There's the method Davo suggested, or a version thereof, for if you have downloaded the file and are opening it in Excel for the first time. Plus a method for importing data, which is useful if you have a spreadsheet you have already created and want to add newer stats to be able to compare them.
