Congrats to Chris79 and Monk for topping their leagues unlucky Deca after your start you did very well I'm sure you'll get promotion next season . And good luck to the Pussycats who are in the playoffs

Formations I play whatever suits my players at the time this season I played 4-5-1 as I had a very good striker on loan the season b4 4-4-2 as I had two decent strikers .

I normally play Longball if 4-5-1 just to get the ball up as fast as I could to my striker which worked for me if it hadn't I would of experimented till I found something that did

Hi m8 I believe as soon as you start building it your an advanced club you don't have to wait for it to be built but just check that you can take players to make sure

Alright lads. I have a club now in league 3 Canada: Hamilton

Quite enjoying it so far. Any tips for formations?
I am just using 4-4-2 at the moment.

Is it best to sink your money in a youth team facility?

You can play u21s in normal friendlies so it's best to play full games then more players can gain experience

Yes I know but I prefer to play my other players in normal friendlies during the period between seasons to try to improve them ready for next season plus trying to still win (or at least draw) in order not to loose too many supporters/fans. :)

When I play U21 matches, of which there don't seem to be any in the close season, I can play more of my U21s so it suits me. So if anyone DOES want to play U21 specific friendlies until assigned league ones start, I'm happy to accept.  :P

In a regular friendly with no injuries, you can play 11 players and 3 substitutes = 14 players.
In an U21 friendly with no injuries, you can play 7 players and 6 substitutes = 13 players.

As far as total experience points....

regular ones get 150 credits * 6 games per season * 14 players = 12,600 experience points
U21 ones get 135 credits * 6 games per season * 13 players = 10,530 experience points

So a major advantage of regular friendlies is that you get 2070 more experience points per game (spread throughout the players).
An advantage of the U21 games is that all but one of the players only play 45 mins so fatigue is not as much of an issue.

On the whole I think I would rather play regular friendlies as every player can play in them, but only U21 players play in U21 friendlies.

I generally pick the team for my friendlies based on who has games left, rather than try and pick my best team.

Just a reminder that there is another forum with an increasing amount of RS talk:

http://sundayleague.freeforums.org/index.php

It was originally as a backup for this one in case SL closed down (or if the massive server problems come back) but it seems that the RS talk is the biggest point of it at the moment.

Thanks, Davo. You make some very good points there and depending on which team I'm playing, I tend to do the same as you and pick players who have games left as well but most of the ones I have with those are my U21 players who don't have many stars. To be frank my U21 players, with a couple of exceptions, are pretty rubbish at the moment. :)

I'll keep in touch with the other forum a bit more often also when I can.

Hi all

How do I get more attendance for my games?  I heard something about sharing link but can't find how you do it as the dots aren't showing next to the game.  I know watching the game yourself helps but I'm not usually around for Aus games as it's late morning GMT  ::)  I've moved my friendly time to 7 am to help with that.

And regarding getting lvl 2 stadium, does the 4/5 400+ attendance rule only apply to home competitive games or do friendlies count?  Not an urgent thing as I'm building YC atm but would be nice to get bigger stadium/attendances ASAP.

Oh, and do you really have to start watching friendlies at least 15 minutes before they start??

Cheers

On the whole I agree with that. Additional friendlies are good during the season because you can give players games that aren't getting much match time games as well. It would be nice if they eventually set up some kind of dedicated friendly league structure/or private league type feature, even if it's just a cup competition we can compete against each other in during the close season. The best idea might be that the private league/friendly league is an under 21 league.
