Ugh.
Was quite enjoying Mad Max, but my game is now borked. 74 hours played, and all lost due to a stupid bug.
I've reported it, but won't hold my breath for a fix.
Basically you're on a mission and at one point an enemy npc character raises a bridge, stopping you progressing. You need to work your way to the controls and lower the bridge again.
Problem is, I saw the guy and shot him with a rocket launcher before he could raise it - and now I need to lower the bridge to progress. Except it's not been raised. And the controls have been destroyed.
Can't progress the mission at all. Can't leave the area, as it says mission failed and puts you back in the same spot you were in. Can't load an old save as it only has autosaves, and the last autosave was after destroying the controls.

I see there's been a fair few people with the same problem, and most are submitting bug reports, but I'm not optimistic about it being fixed any time soon. And if it ain't patched in the next couple of days I'll have moved on and lost interest in the game.

Fuck you WB and Avalanche. :(

I save a ridiculous amount. I have over 100 saves from my recent playthrough of Fallout (I saved over 500, and kept each fifth save).

But for some ridiculous reason Mad Max has an autosave with no obvious way of saving. I don't think there's any way of making saves. If there is then it eludes me - and I did look repeatedly. I suspect the only way would be to find the save file in explorer and manually copy it from time to time to a separate folder (I'd imagine that'd work but I can't be sure, and who can be arsed with that unless you're expecting a game-breaking bug).

Finally, finally.. bought a new hard drive for the Xbox One.. pick it up tonight, gone with a 2TB Seagate - £60 from Argos, but got £15 worth of nectar points I'm going to cash in.. will at last be able to have my whole library of games installed in full again... being a complete OCD about it, I hate the fact I had to uninstall a shit-ton of them!

Wonder how long this will last until I need to buy another one  ;D

Not long, I reckon.

Well, you'll not need to buy another, but you'll be deleting old ones to free up space within a year :P

Elite Dangerous is now £17.99 on Steam. Had a quick go earlier and it's just like the original, even down to the key mapping :o

It's going to take a bit of customisation to get the controls tight enough for me, I'm tempted to go old-school and ditch the mouse and go for 100% keyboard control...but I'll try and persevere with the mouse and keyboard I reckon. Won't be long before I start dealing in slaves, narcotics and booze again mixed with a bit of piracy here and there. Just working through the tutorials first because it's been about 3 or 4 years since I played the original :o ;D

Can't wait to play this game in VR-O-Vision, it's supposed to convert gamers who weren't interested in VR gaming that much into people that NEED VR gaming! :o 8)

Bought myself an SSD the other day for £24.99 thanks to a £10 Amazon voucher from my pension company. Am cloning my Windows 10 hard drive now.

It's only 128GB but you can't go wrong for 25 squid. It's kind of floating in my PC case at the moment, disconnected one of my DVD drives and there isn't enough length on the power and SATA cables to have it sitting on top of my floppy/memory card drive. Oh well, it'll do lol. Will have a nice bay for it to sit in once I get my new PC build going in November. 8)

Started playing So Many Me over the weekend.. well I actually 100%'ed it aswell.. its a nice little puzzle/platformer game.. some of the puzzles do require some brain power and skill.. I didn't resort to looking up the answers.. so quite chuffed I managed to work everything out.  The game does start to feel a bit worn out after a while.. the gameplay mechanics only stretch so far... but it was enjoyable enough while it lasted.

Had a quick look at How to Surive : Storm Warning edition - it looked a bit averagey.. but has potential.. so will keep that running in the background with NHL.

I'm bloomin useless at puzzle games, I used to have the third highest IQ out of my year at school but years of headbanging and alcohol abuse since then have obviously taken quite a toll lmfao :o ;D

Have downloaded the free version of the Unity engine and am going to get one of those Google Cardboard thingies for my HTC Eye smartphone. Going to start messing around with creating 3D games in preparation for Oculus Rift next year. Going to take a lot of effort due to my depression but hopefully I'll be able to get something half decent going on my smartphone and port it to the PC. Should be quite therapeutic I think ;D

Someone at work has got that Google Cardboard thing.. its bloody rubbish and makes your eyes go googly after 2 minutes.

Be A Pro mode in NHL16 is just shit.. so I got sent up to the main team from the minors.. and played there for about 10-15 games when they sent me back down to the minors... fair enough, I wasn't playing brilliantly for the main team and my pro still needs to work on his stats.  Anyway,  I played on the 1st line in the next game, scored 7 goals which is not an easy thing on the level I'm playing on.. assisted 1 and met all my expectations in that game.. next game they started me on the 3rd line.. WTF!

Now I've been told I have to fight my way through the minors again... which means playing 5 games per line.. if I hit expectations in those 5 games, they send you up a line... so it will take me 15 games just to work my way up to the main team again.. fucking stupid.. I'm the highest points scorer in the minor league by a million miles so that logic is just shit.. makes the mode completely unrealistic and has put me off playing it anymore.

Have ordered an Unofficial Cardboard 2.0 Plus, should be fine with that because it has adjustable lenses. Not just the distance but also the space between them ( the IPD - InterPupillary Distance). Basically different people have a different amount of space between their eyes. Some people, like our very own Drags for instance ( :P ;D ;D ;D ), have their eyes too close together :o ;D

That's why a lot of these Google Cardboard thingummybobs don't work for some people and make their eyes go 'googly'. A fair amount of devs have this adjustable in the options part of their apps and games I think, which will widen or close the gap between the two video displays but that's far from ideal because the lenses are still physically in the wrong place.

I'm going to be SERIOUSLY pissed off if I get simulation sickness (aka VR sickness) because I've been dreaming of VR gaming since the 80s lol :o :-\ ;D

I don't get travel sick at all and my hearing in my left ear is partially screwed which apparently should go in my favour as far as resistance to simulation sickness goes. 8)
