Well that's the torch done. Doesn't look very sci-fiey but it'll do for now.

Not too sure what I'm going to do for the gun, will have to think about it a bit, maybe do some sketches. 8)

The new Zelda is being released for the Wii U anyway harv.. so you wouldn't even need to buy a Switch for it.  Another key decision that will definitely lower the amount of sales - the only decent game for the system at launch and you can buy it on your old console lol.

I think their online subscription is free.. and then becoming payable in the future - the Switch will be dead on its feet long before then though so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I think if they had gone for the hand-held which can be played on the main TV - rather than a console that can be played on the move - the concept wouldn't of been so bad.

A handheld that could be played on the TV would have been an even worse concept. The games would look AWFUL because the handheld would be considerably less powerful. You'd get considerably more battery power out of it on the go but the games are going to look shite. What they've gone for is a much better idea.

Still not for me though. Once you go VR you never go back. ;)

The games are gonna look like shite anyway :-/  Handheld would be less powerful.. exactly.. and it wouldn't have a stupid price tag which is going to put 90% of your audience off straight away.  Nintendo should stick to what actually makes them money.. handheld gaming... or start producing games for other platforms where they will be played by more than 15% of the gaming community.

Fucking hell, just upgraded from the default Sidey you get in Elite Dangerous to an Adder and seen the Adder in VR for the first time. The thing is MILES bigger :o

I think they might have added a second seat to it in the update that allows you to take passengers, am pretty sure that there wasn't a passenger seat when I had one before. :-\

Things look sooooooo much better in VR in this game, it's still number one in my top 5 VR games list.

They've also added an auto center thing for the camera before you jump into hyperpace, something that has been driving me mental since I bought the game. I usually put my ship reticule near enough in the middle before jumping but I don't think I ever had in bang on in the center until now. Must have been driving people with OCD completely bananas lmfao ;D ;D ;D

It's still way too easy to earn money in this game compared to the original and to raise your pilot status too. In the original you had to get 255 kills I think which took you AGES :o

I just got 11 kills by helping out in a civil war, left the space station, headed for a low intensity combat zone and did that in a matter of minutes. Gamers these days wouldn't last 5 minutes playing the original game. Bloody lightweights 8)

Am going to attempt to do my first 100% steam game.. Civ VI.

131 hours in now.. unlocked 70/113 (62%) so far.  Still a ton of easy ones to get but a lot of them take a lot of planning and time... plus quite a few require the DLC which I haven't downloaded yet.  Unfortunately I think there are a few bugged ones too which can be incredibly frustrating - so googling them before attempting takes a bit of fun away but makes it less frustrating if there are any quirks.

One particular achievo took ages to set up - having a city 60 tiles away from your capital, connected by a trade route and a road.  I don't actually get what I did wrong, but the trade route said it was 60 tiles away when I created it.. and it was all by road.. and it didn't pop

It used to be a bloody nightmare testing Achievements. Very easy to find the bugs like Achievements not being awarded when they should be but most of the time you couldn't work out what caused the bloody things. And the worst thing is that if Sony or Microsoft found these things during Standards testing they fail it and send it back. Do that too many times and they charge you a fortune for further Submissions. Can't remember how much it was now, around 12K I think lol :o ;D

We were in that sort of position with Champ Man on the PSP, one more Standards failure and Sony were going to charge us a fortune for the next Submission. The Lead Tester was filling his pants after we sent it off, managed to pass though luckily lol ;D

Most Lead Testers can't stand Standards testing but it's pretty bloody simple. You get a checklist from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo with stuff like what frame rates you need, what error messages you need when controllers are disconnected or run out of batteries, how much space you need around the edge of the touchscreen etc. If it works, tick it, if it doesn't work submit a bug. It really isn't rocket surgery FFS. :o

Achievements and Trophies not being awarded was a pain in the arse but otherwise it was pretty straightforward tbh.

Had to buy a new hard drive because my 4Tb one is dying. It was supposed to be delivered today but my bloody postman can't fucking read. None of the doorbells in my building work so I put a notice on the door telling people to knock. Went downstairs and there's a fucking card through the door. The fuckwit must have just tried the bells. Wanker. >:(

And now it turns out that whilst my 4Tb drive is on its way out it was my 1Tb drive that was clicking like mental. And it's now completely dead. With my mammoth VR porn collection on it lmfao :o :'( >:(

And I had a 2Tb drive die on me not so long ago too.

Having my PC on 24/7 tends to kill these things off unfortunately :P

So now I'm left with my 120Gb SSD, my 4Tb drive that's on its way out and my new one tomorrow. Can't really afford to get a new drive, have spent WAY too much money over Christmas on my credit card. Oh well, fuck it, you can't take it with you lol

I think my internal HDD is on its way out, too. They don't make them like they used to.
Pretend I have a cool signature thing here.
I did, but the host site died and I can't be arsed to find an alternative right now...

Project CARS and Monkey Island..? Nice!

Project CARS 2 is on the way but the first game is fantastic. Not sure how it looks on the Xbox One but the PC SKU looks beautiful with everything turned up to 11 even before you start to think about playing it in VR (although you do need to turn a couple of the settings down to 10 to do that lol).

After a REALLY wonky start the Xbox One games for free with Live have got MUCH better. And the PS4 and PSN went in the opposite way. They started off REALLY well and got MUCH worse as time went on, although to be fair I haven't checked them out for a bit.

The monthly PS+ games are terrible. Think I've been subscribed for about 27 months or so and most have been trash indie games that wouldn't look out of place on the NES. There have been a few great ones for me personally, but nothing like the 'big' games that xbox have been giving away recently.

Yup, and the weird thing is that it was completely the other way around when Sony started doing it. The games for PSN  pissed all over the Live games in terms of quality. I just can't believe they let their standards skip so much. :o

Oh well, better than what Nintendo are going to start doing, whoever thought that lending people a ROM for a month was a good idea needs shooting lmfao :o ;D

Of course, being of the PCMR now, none of this peasant's business concerns me. :P

I think when you weigh them out over a year.. the offerings by both companies are probably on even keel.  Neither would sway me to buy one or t'other console.. mainly because you have to pay for the service.  Plus the games are only good if you haven't already bought them.

And harv.. you do know, you can play on PC "AND" a console.. limiting yourself to only playing on a PC just makes you a PC wanker :P

Why on earth would I want to play on a console..? Better eye candy, mods, free online play, a decent web browser, VR porn, top quality VR, VR porn, software that allows me to play A LOT of 'flat' games in VR and VR porn.

Consoles are for peasants :P
