SL Random Doubles

So, kicking off hopefully the first of many Doubles competitions, we have 16 teams of miscreants randomly chosen to tag-team it up in order to reign supreme as SL Doubles champions!

As a bit of idle banter up-top ill be posting the combined tables at different intervals throughout the competition as well so it's easier to ascertain how the pairings are doing. Also, for handiness sake ill be shortening the duo's names to a hybrid of both, for example "The AngelHearrrts". Although, if any pairing would like to come up with their own moniker please don't hesitate to let me know

After revelations revealed in The Times today it has come to light that Lone Rangers have all been taking drugs. Bad ones.  So, under section 4, subsection 7b in the rulebook Lone Rangers have been replaced by HarriCam Wanderers, who have the same manager. (But a different medical team...)

So... needless to say The Flashhearts let the side down with a 100% tactical loss against Jasons Naval and Military  conceding 3 goals, scoring none, and just generally being crap in the opening games. This is how the pairing are doing after the first day:

Ahem!! to just  clean up this story a little. Lone Rangers went absent without leave, whilst trying to find The Isle of St. Kilda, somewhere out in the Western Isles, rumoured to be seen from North Uist. The Team were invited for a joint training session/social with partner team St. Kilda before the Doubles campaign began. The Drugs involved were sea sickness tablets, a bad batch maybe. The Team got weathered in, so Harricam had to step in as body double in The Doubles competition, quite appropriate, what? Meanwhile Lone Rangers are flying back from Benbeccula, to a ground near you. Watch out for low flying aircraft and parachutists!! I told the Team that maybe they should stay on St. Kilda, where they may become the second best Team on the island.

The St Kildians are all at sea.... I thought the training camp went well, there wasn't a mention of seasickness, and the Lone Rangers certainly devoured plenty of KFG, (Kilda Fried Guga)  The change in tactics has thrown The Select into disarray, bottom of the table, I even lost to a team called Super Imps today - embarrassing.  We'll just have to draw on our league experience, put our differences behind us and we go again.
P.s Old Willie wants his tweed jockstrap back, he says he saw your physio shoving it into his needle bag.

So guys its been a great competition so far.. even if some of us have just realised how crap we are (Sorry to my partner). Just so as you guys know im not sulking from being stuck at the bottom of Group B but im actually away on holibobs to Portugal in the morning so its just about all i can do set up my tactics never mind forum posts but ill get straight on to posting the combined tables when i get back next week.
