I think it's down to United playing to win instead of playing not to lose.

It's mainly down to the previous three managers changing us from a Premiership winning side to a Cup winning side. We're taking more chances and aren't afraid of making mistakes and losing possession. They're making runs, playing with pace and passing the ball forwards instead of backwards and sideways.

We'll probably go back to playing crap on Sunday though lol

Great strike from Rashford for number three. Great goal.

We need a goal from Mata now so that all four of our forwards have scored lol ;D

Ended up winning 3-0, I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't score more.

An early kick off for United against Astana and a load of our kids playing including Ethan Laird. I knew it wouldn't be long before he started to break through, he's a great right back. Here's the team news for United:

Grant, Laird, Tuanzebe, Bernard, Shaw, Levitt, Garner, Gomes, Lingard, Chong, Greenwood

Bench: Kovar, Taylor, Mengi, Galbraith, Puigmal, Mellor, Ramazani

Also great to see Garner and Levitt starting too. ;D

A bit of a disappointing performance so far from this young side. Lingard scored his first goal in ages to put us a goal ahead but we really haven't created enough chances against a VERY poor side.

United 0-1 up at halftime.

Chongy just missed a sitter and now they've got an equaliser 30-odd seconds later. >:(

2-1 final score which was disappointing but their keeper made a couple of great saves, he was probably the MOTM I think. Still, all good experience for the kids.

I had great hopes for both Gomes and Chongy at the start of the season but they haven't done good enough when they've had their chances in the first team and I think they'll both end up going elsewhere on a free at the end of the season.

Laird had a good game and both Garner and Levitt were pretty solid. Bernard was pretty unlucky with that own goal and had a decent game despite that.

9 changes from the side that beat the Berties:

Romero

Young Tuanzebe Maguire Williams

Static Garner

Pereira Mata Martial

Greenwood

Static and Mata in the side at the same time means we'll be playing at under 1mph 😂😂😂

Bench: Grant, Jones, Rashford, Fred, McTominay, Laird, Chongy

I would have preferred to see Laird at right back instead of Young though, he's one of my favourite Yoof products.

Good to see Garner getting a start too, the likes of Greenwood and Martial will be all over his excellent long range passing.

Looks like Pereira on the left, Greenwood on the right and Martial up front.

0-0 at halftime and a pretty even game so far so both teams going in level is a fair reflection of the balance of play so far.

Tuanzebe is having a pretty bad game so far though.

Lovely move from United and Young puts us 1-0 up. As things stand AZ need two goals to top the group. ;D

Greenwood scores number 2, looked like a foul by Garner before the goal but no VAR in this competition until the Final.

Chongy has just come on for Martial, he hasn't had a great game tbh but he has had a long injury layoff to be fair.

Greenwood wins a penalty and Mata puts it away. 3-0  8)
