I've got Hoarse tonight, i very very very rarely beat Hoarse, would love a win tonight, would help make for an interesting second half to the season.

Conference three cup round one

Round one takes place today, I'm short on time this morning so very brief previews are as follows:


Rathpeacon   vs    Purple Gelato   
Defending champions and three time winners Purple Gelato start their defence  against Rathpeacon. It's 3rd v 4th in 3-1-1, this could go either way.

Wizards   vs    Blue Star Knights
3-1-1 leaders travel to Wizards in what is an intriguing clash. Wizards have two cup titles in recent seasons and have become cup specialists. They could upset Blue Star in this one.

Teamo supremo   vs    Hoarse Whisperers
Teamo Surpemo of 3-2-2 entertain Hoarse Whisperers hoping to pull off one the cup's greatest shocks. Hoarse are 3-1-1 kingpins but have never won the cup. Supremo has an experienced team but are missing some key players for today's clash. Hoarse will expect to come through this one.

A.C.Upstreet   vs    The Rumour Mill
11th in 3-1-1 entertain 6th in this one. Both sides would welcome a cup run to kickstart their season. Both have strong squads and this tie could go either way.

CONFERENCE THREE CUP ROUND ONE RESULTS



Rathpeacon   0 - 5    Purple Gelato   
Purple Gelato have started their title defence with a bang. A 5-0 away victory at my poor Rathpeacon  Two goals in the first half were followed by three in the second half.

Wizards   1 - 2    Blue Star Knights   
This one could have gone either way. 1-1 at the break and looking like heading for extra time but Blue Star snatched a late win. The league and cup double dream is very much alive.

Teamo supremo   0 - 1    Hoarse Whisperers
Teamo Surpremo can be proud of their efforts in this one but Hoarse's class showed. A well taken goal just before half time was enough to win this one.
   

A.C.Upstreet   1 - 0    The Rumour Mill
A.C Upstreet had the better of things in this one. However resolute Mill's defence kept them out until the 58th minute. AC are just 90 minutes away from a final and might be dark horses for the cup.

Cove, I'm thinking of sponsoring some credits next season for the C3 cup... Hoping maybe this could give us a 16 team K.O ... 0 entry and could win some credits... But then again it is probably unlikely we will fill 16 in any circumstance right?

Very tight game yesterday Nish. You've got the better of me this season and I'm not looking forward to our Champions Shield match. I'm seeking revenge after our ICC game but your team is really strong at the moment 

In my opinion, everyone in the top 8 still has a chance of winning the league. Would be awesome if this could continue till the end.

I think 16 teams would be hard to get, 10 or 11 is possible but it could be hard to get to 16. It's worth trying though, the first few cup seasons had 16 so maybe it could be done.

i’ll take a point it’s a tight season! interested to see how it turns out

i was very happy with my title push but 3 defeats in my last 5 have left me with too much to do. The top three are great teams and Hoarse could still have a say in this.

CONFERENCE THREE CUP SEMI FINALS

A dramatic day and we will have a new cup champion this season.


Purple Gelato   1 - 2    Blue Star Knights   
2nd played 3rd in 3-1-1 here and what a dramatic game we had. Gelato took the lead on the 30th minutes. Blue Star edged the game from here but looked to be going out only for a 90th minute equaliser. Extra time was needed and for a while, it looked like we would never get a winner by a 111th goal put Blue Star through.
Very high quality game with 45 shots, 37 fouls and 7 yellow cards. No one deserved to lose but Blue Star have a chance to take their first cup title.



Hoarse Whisperers   3 - 0    A.C.Upstreet   
Hoarse Whisperers may be having a poor league season by their high standards but there was nothing poor about this performance. 1-0 up at the break, two second goals left them comfortable winners. AC fought hard and had their chances but Whisperers were clinical in front of goal. Can they win the cup for the first time?

Good game mate.... Not the first time you've scored a 90th minute goal against me lol.

League is very tight which is great to see. Defence has been rock solid this season which is good to see!

CONFERENCE 3 CUP FINAL


IT'S CUP FINAL DAY IN CONFERENCE 3!!!

BLUE STAR KNIGHTS V HOARSE WHISPERERS
What a final, it rarely gets bigger than this!
Blue Star Knights are the 3-1-1 defending champions and currently lie second in 3-1-1. Hoarse Whispers have won 3-1-1 7 times in the last 11 seasons.

These teams have met several times this season. Hoarse won when they met in the server cup and Blue Star won their league 3-1-1 meeting while their FL1 tie finished in a draw.

Neither team has ever won the cup. No team has ever double a league and cup double, Blue Star could still win the league, will today be the first leg of a possible double? This one is impossible to call!.

CONFERENCE THREE CUP FINAL



HOARSE WHISPERERS 4-0 BLUE STAR KNIGHTS

Congratulations to Hoarse Whisperers who have won the conference three cup for the very first time. This was a final that promised much but few expected such a one sided game. Hoarse took the lead after 24 minutes in what was a relatively even first half. Three second half goals saw Hoarse through as emphatic winners.

Blue Star had plenty possession and many chances but they couldnt find a way past inspired Hoarse defending.


Well done to Hoarse Whisperers, it's always good to see a new name on the roll of honour.
