injuries

Did any of you have so many injuries in one game ?
http://smokey.sundayleague.com/cgi-bin/sundayleague/match.pl?fixtureid=8606840

And I mean my injuries, the other team had already injured players before the start
and how strange, for the first time in this season he decided to play psycho just after the kickoff.
 ;) >:( :( ??? ::) :'(
fortunatelly, 4 of the injuries are mild concussions ...

my opponents today will have an easy game

Probably not that strange?

He could see he wasn't going to beat you on level ground so tried to up his chances. His only mistake was not realising that even playing Psycho the gap in quality was going to be far too great?  Unfortunate that his league hasn't required him to do that so you couldn't have expected it and got caught (which is unlucky but probably nothing more)?

Yeah the old "if we can't win, lets take em down" tactic!

There are certain current circumstances where it can be a genuine tactic rather than just nastiness or blind hopefulness ---- It's just a case of knowing when (because it can backfire).

But I shall say no more  :)

I think that people only play pyscho when they want to deliberately injure the opposition team's players. It's all part of the game I suppose.

The question always has to be, is it for a footballing reason or just to be nasty --- or, worst of all, to benefit another team in the same league.

Being nasty or to help another team are part of the game. We may not like it but even in real life soccer, someone can decide to seriously injure another player. They will get a red card but they may put the other player out for a long time. One red card is a small penalty to pay for that, gives an incentive to dirty players.

I don't think the managers using psycho are doing it to injure players, maybe on some cases but imo it's all about having the higher aggression if you can get away with it without getting red cards. Most top managers use psycho with Piddlethwaite and Dingberry, because you rarely get a red card with them, even when using psycho. Some people use pansy for Frisk and Pieman but most of the time I use normal. It's all about risk and reward with the refs imo. If I can have the higher aggression in a match then I'll take the risk of the red card. Many matches I should've lost but didn't purely by having the higher aggression.

And I think Angele meant helping secret second teams out by playing psycho, injuring a rivals players to help your other team. Which is obviously cheating. Anyone who uses psycho to injure players because they don't like them or just want to mess up there season should be thrown off the game. Any Fifa team who regularly had fights on the pitch or brutally tackled teams just to cause injuries would be punished heavily for it.

That's the problem on here, not the people doing these things but the lack of care that people are doing it. Just my opinion though. I don't let losses or people cheating etc bother me. It's just a game after all. Would be nice to have a fairer game to play that being said tho  ;D

That's exactly what I meant --- and people that people don't seem to care.

I'm not going to let what I can't control bother me Angele. Would be nice to clean up the game for sure but I don't think that will happen..

I tend to avoid playing psycho purely because I find it tends to inflict longer term injuries on the opposition. It's happened to me a few times and it has meant I have had to field a much weakened side in some crucial games and I don't like the idea of being responsible for that on another team.

My own personal preference but I'm not going to moan about people playing psycho against me as it is part of the game and it's all a bit of fun in the end  :D

I agree Nick. I played Psycho early on in the season and injured 3 of DVG's players which I still feel guilty about as he was doing well until that point. The problem is though that I used to make the mistake of playing nutter and opposition teams like Angel Rrrr's etc played Psycho and injured my players. I don't blame them, as it's part of the game like you say. I just assumed most managers used Psycho with piddlethwaite and dingberry so started to use it always, just incase the opposition played Psycho and caught me off guard.

It's definitely a good tactic with tho's two refs, but to use it at any other time is just playing to injure players. Maybe if more managers were aware of this it would help to avoid these injuries as much as they happen. And guy's who just spit the dummy out just cause they're losing and play psycho to deliberately injure players should have some sort of punishment for doing this.

It's a tough one, do you take the risk of injuring someone's players or take the risk of your own players being injured? It's not braking any rules using it but definitely agree if it can be avoided then we should do so in the spirit of the game. I had the option to play nutter/psycho against iwopp recently but chose to play normal to avoid injuring his players. Admittedly I only done this as it was with my second team and assumed I would lose anyway.. (I won btw, that's karma lol)

Sorry again DVG I hope you understand mate and don't hold a grudge.. I want to play and win things fairly otherwise it ruins the joy of winning things. We should all be on a level playing field.

I still say there can be good reasons for using Psycho. More so now than ever before. In fact it was once a way of just getting Red cards with little reward. Even with Dingleberry and Piddlethwaite, playing Psycho will give little extra advantage assuming the opponent is also, as they should be, playing Nutter. I've never actually played Psycho with Buster Jones so I can't comment on him. Put simply, the way I see it is times have changed in SL and that means evolving new strategies to try to deal with the changes.

I didn't mind at all.   I agree that its part of the game.  I made some comment about it in the forum , I think,  but that was only in jest.  It was all a good laugh as far as I'm concerned.   I did even try to get you back by playing psycho in a private league game but when i did that i knew  that any injuries would not carry forward.  But I even messed that up, lol , cos i mixed up the referees  and i think i ended up with about 5 red cards...more karma Lol.  The reason i'm not doing well at the moment is not cos of those injuries  , just that i have a lot of other things to do and took a decision not to be distracted by the game for a while...im still training them up though     8) 8) 8)
