Bloody hell. Just as I was starting to fall asleep Mertens scores a cracking goal. Belgium have been godawful until that moment though.

1-1 with England after Kane puts us ahead and then Walker gifts them a penalty. Bloody idiot.

So much for VAR. That's two penalties we should have had now. Unbelievable.

And that's what looks like the winner from Kane. They left it a bit late but to be fair to England we should have had two penalties too. Probably the worst refereeing performance so far I think.

VAR is ruining the world cup a little bit.. those rugby tackles on Kane were penalties any day of the week - they were apparently reviewed by the VAR team and the ref took the view that Kane dived.. I don't get it.  How can they not give a penalty for that, but give penalties like the France one or the Argentina one which were NOT clear and obvious penalties.  When you get a game like that where everyone including all pundits/press/media think that England should have had at minimum two penalties and they get none, VAR is clearly not working as it should.

Anyway.. despite that fact, still got that frustrating feeling watching England... we did play well for the first 20 minutes (probably not the best 20 minutes from any team like that twat Keown spouted out) ... but we weathered the rest of the game, especially after their equalizer which is a bit of worry.  Apparently Tunisia touched the ball 5 times in our penalty area the whole game (including the penalty) - we still conceded.

Thoughts on performances:
Lingard is not good enough.. no excuse for that tame 1st effort - I'd rather see Rashers or even Wellbeck play there.. and Wellbeck is Wellshite!
Not a big fan of Young, I think he's shit.. ok, he didn't do much wrong last night (although that FK was terrible) - but he didn't really do anything to be honest.
Thought Loftus-Cheek did well when he came on, 10 minutes wasn't really enough though.
I don't get why people thought Henderson had a good game.. he over-hit so many passes and surely lost possession more than anyone.. still, better than playing the ball backwards and sideways constantly I guess.
Unsure on Mcguire, ok he burst forward a few times.. a few times he just turned around and passed backwards though.
Glad Kane got on the scoresheet, to be honest, he was just in the right place at the right time.. but that's a good thing and now hopefully that gives him the confidence for future games.
Sterling should be shot for that miss though.. he's going to cost us at some point with his misses.

Sterling should NEVER be wearing an England shirt. He's nowhere near consistent enough for top level football. He'll have a game here or there where he's fantastic but then he'll have a few games where he'll have 15 or 20 minutes playing average football and the rest of the match he'll be complete shite and a few games where he's shite for the whole game.

Hopefully we'll see Rashford starting the next match in his place.

Bloody hell, Denmark have just gone 1-0 up with what has to be the best goal of the competition so far. Fantastic.

Lòoks like it's going to finish 1-1 after the Aussies got a dodgy penalty via VAR. That probably makes up for them getting shafted by it during their first match though.

Well that's the Frogs through to the last 16 with a 1-0 win against Peru. But they're REALLY not looking like World Cup winners so far.

I've always said that Modric is overrated but that was a fantastic goal. 2-0 to Croatia.

What odds would you have had on Messi NOT scoring a World Cup goal..?
