Oh well, they managed to win 2-1. That's a gap of 9 points now, back to 6 if we beat Spurs tomorrow.

So after two and a half years Maureen hadn't worked out what his best eleven was. Ollie has worked his out in three weeks lol

De Gea

Young Lindelof Jones Shaw

Herrera Matic

Pogba

Lingard Martial

Rashford

Hopefully we'll carry on with our winning run!

Some great football being played by both sides here this afternoon. A good match to watch so far, there's definitely going to be goals here.

And Rashford draws first blood. A beautiful assist from Pogba and a great finish. Brilliant goal. 8)

United a goal up at half-time, Spurs have had 7 attempts on goal but none on target. United have had 5 attempts on goal, 3 on target.

United have been playing with Rashford on the right and Lingard as the number 9. I prefer Rashford out wide tbh.

MOTM performance from De Gea, he's been the real difference between the two sides so far. 5 minutes plus Injury Time to go :o

A nervous few final minutes and Ollie has won his 6th game. First manager in United's history to do it.

Now level on points with arse, arse in 5th on Goal Difference and 6 points behind Chelsea in 4th.

Would have been a different result if it wasn't for De Gea, an outstanding performance from him.

Next two games are Brighton and Burnley at home. 8)

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11606793/manchester-united-counter-attack-thriving-under-ole-gunnar-solskjaer

Some stats that pretty much say EVERYTHING about Maureen's 3rd season:

Quote
Opta define a fast break as an attempt created when a team turns defence into attack after winning the ball in their own half. United had three such breaks in the first 45 minutes alone - as many as in their 17 full matches under Mourinho this season.

Quote
Indeed, no team in the Premier League had fewer counter-attacks than Mourinho's United. They were joint last alongside Cardiff and Huddersfield with just three. Solskjaer's United have had seven in the past two matches. No team has had as many since he took over. They have gone from the worst counter-attacking side in the Premier League to the best.

That is what parking the bus and passes going sideways and backwards instead of forwards does to a side.

Maureen should hang his head in shame. >:(

United are back. Trophies will follow soon(ish). 8)

Of course you did. But don't worry, knowing how useless our board is they'll probably give the permanent job to Simeone in the Summer and we'll be back to playing boring defensive football again next season lol :o :-\ ;D

Chelsea were godawful today, that's the gap that WAS 11 points when Ollie took over cut down to 3. And our Goal Difference has gone up from what was an embarrassing -1 to +16.

The only concern I have is our second half performances not being great because they look pretty knackered but Ollie and his staff are working on that so hopefully we'll see an improvement during these next few weeks. United have spent so little time attacking these last four and a half years that their bodies aren't used to using that extra energy that these runs take both pressing and running into space during attacks.

I'm just glad that we got shot of Maureen before it was too late like Chelsea did not so long ago. I don't think anyone was expecting Ollie to have this great a start though, that's 7 wins out of 7. :o

A few changes for United:

Dr Gea

Young Lindelof Jones Shaw

Pereira Matic Pogba

Mata Lukaku Rashford

Bench: Romero, Herrera, Fred, Dalot, Lingard, Smalling, Sanchez

So it's looking like Herrera is being rested, Martial is injured and we'll probably see Rashford on the left in a 4-3-3 with Pogba as the number 10.

Burnley will probably park the proverbial bus and rely on set pieces to cause us a few problems during counter attacks I think.

Decent performance from both sides so far, Burnley have been poor in the final third and United haven't been anywhere near as clinical as they have been during recent weeks.

Burnley have defended well but you can't help thinking that it's only a matter of time before they get a goal.

0-0 at half-time.
