I've decided to try my luck in with the big boys even if that does mean sacrificing my Champions Shield place. Relegation is almost a certainty considering the level of opposition but at least there's some banter on the forum between the managers so good luck everyone lets all have a good season !  :)

Cheers, great to see new additions to the conference. Even moreso because you use the forums. ;D

Hmm, hard to say what the top three will look like. Even harder to say which teams will relegate this season! Conference seems tougher than ever.

I'll go with Deca this season though, don't think he gets enough credit considering what he's capable off. :D Also believe the university and Steel City Blades will put up a solid fight for the title. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hadoken or Luton up there either as they're both very capable, but want to see more consistency before I put my faith in them!

Newsflash

In a dramatic twist, Conference 2 was left in turmoil after Ray threw a Wobbler and left for pastures new. Spokesmen of FredsBet, Fred Champion was heard to say 'this has thrown everything wide open'.

After a few hours however a new face came to the committee to offer their services to this competitive league. Managed by Joe, Touchnplay, a real newcomer to proceedings has thrown his hat into the ring but is playing things coy and playing down expectations.

Fred was quick to react and has offered his analysis of the unfancied team managed by Joe.

Touchnplay 80/1
A new team with new players but time will tell if they gel quickly to cause the major teams some problems, however expect manager Joe to take points off the mid table teams particularly when at home but can he avoid relegation.

haha cheers Steve, 80/1 that's well worth a cheeky punt !

I've been keeping an out out this league for a while now as it had the two spaces in and it was the league I was in during my last time playing the game. All the teams in this league are top draw but I reckon Uni. Craiova might just nick it this season.

Nice easy start tomorrow playing the best manager on SL from last season, going to have to bring him down a peg or 2 haha  ;)

Guys with the banter and general excitment shown this season, so far I am sure this will be C2-1-1's most enjoyable year yet 8).
I am totally shocked :o as not only have I somewhow managed to qualify for the Champions League (just the thoght of the teams I face has me nervous) but apparently I get the ICC too!! Honestly I had no idea, so it is worth putting in the time cos if my lot can make it so can you!! ;)

Some interesting games tonite with the top half playing the bottom half but some managers will be optimistic of causing a shock, none more so than the manager of DidierDrogbaFanClub who has a tricky away tie in Romania, Steven and his team have been aclimatising to the Romanian conditions and aim on causing the 1st shock of the season.

Guys, can you help me out with the C2 roll of honours? Seeing as we don't have one for all conferences anymore I thought we could at least keep ours up to date in the first post. :) This is what I've got so far:

Season 89: Steel City Blades
Season 88: UNIV. CRAIOVA
Season 87: UNIV. CRAIOVA
Season 86: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 85: UNIV. CRAIOVA
Season 84: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 83: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 82: Colour City
Season 81: Cubana Villains
Season 80: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 79: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 78: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 77: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 76: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 75: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 74: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 73: Anfield Rd Rangers
Season 72: Anfield Rd Rangers

Wasn't able to track this further as some teams have gone off the grid completely. Pretty sure Mark's team won season 71, but can't recall what they went by (was it Redhill Rovers?)

Would like to add runner-ups but don't have a lot of the information I need.

Good luck tonight, Steven. ;)

Found Mark's team in the lower conferences, and found the roll of honour in Chico's blog, and in there I also found some helpful articles. Many thanks to Nick's extensive team history and ridiculous consistency, by the way. Saved me lots of hours!

Anyone out there with great memory? Does Kellys Heroes ring a bell? BigBobbyZoro? Anything? ;D

Great work Chiiii, unfortunately there way before my time!

Are any of the really old teams still languishing around the bottom of the conference??

Good draw last night mate the more points I can get in front early the better  :P
Steel City Blades - I will win everything even if it takes me forever to do it!
Flashing Blade - "Got any leeches for this?"

I recognized Hancock, Redhill Rovers, Tangerine, and a few other teams. But this was way before my time as well, was struggling in 2-2-1 around the time Redhill Rovers first won the league. ;D

I think HH Beticos and Spartak are the only teams left from the early days!

Not off to a good start though, should be happy given the huge disadvantage in tactics though. But it's a double-edged blade, because they would have been different if Steven would have scored. ::)

 Day 1 Results
  Sun, 1 Apr 2012   Steel City Blades   7 - 1    Touchnplay
Sun, 1 Apr 2012   UNIV. CRAIOVA   0 - 0    Didier Drogba Fan Club
Sun, 1 Apr 2012   FC Town of Luton   1 - 0    Forever Blowing Bubbles
  Sun, 1 Apr 2012   Cubana Villains   1 - 0    Spartak
  Sun, 1 Apr 2012   HaDoKeN F.C   1 - 0    Rocket Rangers
  Sun, 1 Apr 2012   Bayern Arse   3 - 0    Tottenham Hotspur
  Sun, 1 Apr 2012   Tipton Tornadoes   1 - 0    HH Beticos
Sun, 1 Apr 2012   The Pink Charlottes   3 - 3    White hart lane

An interesting set of results on the opening day which see defending champs crush an out of form newcomer in Touchnplay. There were narrow wins for champs league qualifers The Villains and Luton. Bayern got a good result against the returnee Tottenham and there was a thriller as six goals were shared in Charlottes back yard. The performance of the day however was by the FanClub who doggedly held out the Romanians and take a valuable point back from their travels.

Day 2 Fixtures
Mon, 2 Apr 2012   Steel City Blades   vs    Tottenham Hotspur
Mon, 2 Apr 2012   UNIV. CRAIOVA   vs    HH Beticos
Mon, 2 Apr 2012   FC Town of Luton   vs    White hart lane
Mon, 2 Apr 2012   Cubana Villains   vs    Touchnplay
Mon, 2 Apr 2012   HaDoKeN F.C   vs    Didier Drogba Fan Club
Mon, 2 Apr 2012   Bayern Arse   vs    Forever Blowing Bubbles
Mon, 2 Apr 2012   Tipton Tornadoes   vs    Spartak
Mon, 2 Apr 2012   The Pink Charlottes   vs    Rocket Rangers

Some interesting games tonite as the established sides take on the newcomers, The Romanians will expect a win tonite, The Villains will expect goals and the champ will expect another 3pts. Grudge match tonite as family members Luton and White Hart Lane square up and the FanClub takes on the Captain in an intriguing encounter.

oh dear oh dear oh dear, after the the comment yesterday that was bound to happen although I do blame spurs for my result a heavy session while watching the football may have affected my ability to set up my team correctly or not at all i'm not entirely  sure which one it was! However I'm positive that tonight the result will be better .... touch wood   :)
