Ok Con3, it's time to sign up for UCB 15! I would really appreciate it if you sign up before day 18 of the league so that the competition can get started in time. Please reserve the nÂș1 spot for the Captain.

UCB 15 Quartet:

1.              (Capt.)
2. Colour City
3. Waterloo Merlion
4. Ramsgate Reds

Thanks!

Ok I think the UCB team should be last season's top 4. If anyone else wants to enter the UCB speak up and we can all decide.  ;)

So for me it should be:

Mmmrs Phoenix Pigs
Colour City
Waterloo Merlion
Ramsgate Reds
Ruff Ryders

I've had to do some more rebuilding plus I've been really battered with early-season injuries so might I politely suggest we wait another 5-7 days and see how the league is settling down and then pick the team (if I'm not getting results it would be only fair for me to drop out in favour of anyone who is).

No problem Dave. The deadline is day 18 so there's still plenty of time. Still think you're one of the strongest teams.

I also have a feeling that Stato is going to have a great season.

Hopefully I can do OK until things get going again and I'm perfectly happy to play if there is a place available but my poor showing in the last UCB was indicative of how things are. And my best midfielder now needs replacing. Add in the injuries and it leads to the hammering I got in the CS last night.  Maybe I should just try and avoid relegation and try to get going again next season ;)

If last seasons champion is aiming to avoid relegation then maybe we should all re evaluate our goals  :o

Bit drastic that Dave!
Steel City Blades - I will win everything even if it takes me forever to do it!
Flashing Blade - "Got any leeches for this?"

Avoid relegation  ;D that was drastic indeed! Let's wait and see, your team might be weaker but I still think you'll make the top5. In a couple of days we can look and see who would be best.  ;)

Well I reckon I'd won the title with a fair bit of the season left and wasn't in any of the major cups. With my squad the way it was (half top players, half newbies) I could have kept going and, with reasonable injury luck, probably smashed through the first half or more of this season. But then things would have started going wrong. So I took the opportunity to ditch players at their peak in exchange for being able to buy quality replacements at reasonable prices (which is usually much easier in the last quarter of a season). And that, with now losing the one big player I kept, has left my squad down on stats. For now. Luckily (despite injuries) the fixtures have been kind to me in terms of early season opponents (no disrespect  ;)) and I hope to be much more effective for next season (maybe even towards the end of this though probably not against the likely top four or five).

As for being nowhere near relegation, I'm a QPR fan and that's what Mark Hughes told us would definitely not happen to us this season >:(

Though to be fair I probably have a much easier job with my lot than 'appy 'arry has at Loftus Road.

If anyone REALLY wants to play in the UCB and feels they will give it 100% then fair do's, I'd be happy to stand aside.

I wouldn't mind entering but I'm going to lose my best keeper soon and that means that all my stats will decrease quite a bit. So let's see how the league shapes up. ;)

Terrible day for me :-\ I lost fair and square but got 4 players injured 2 of which have a long term injury. The worst part is that they are 2 AMID which means I don't have enough Amid for my 4-5-1 formation on the day of the beer cup final(not really a big deal as there are many of these per season) and the elite cup! If I would of had an easy fixture I wouldn't really care but I'm playing Mihai. The elite cup was the one I wanted this season. Going to be a couple of long days for my Ryders.

you can play 5-2-3 attacking or 4-3-3 attacking for tonight games.
as for this afternoon games, whatever formation you will play you will still have a player out of position in defence.
good luck!

Thanks Mihai! I am going for 5-2-3 for tonight, but it is a much weaker formation for me stats wise. Thant's why I wasn't very happy   ;)
(I'll quit whining now  :D)

Good luck!
