Esperance is a small town in Western Australia, named after a French ship of the same name. It is also a place in New York, and the name of a French Saint.

My assumption is that

1. nobody from NY understands "soccer" so would not able to compete in 3-1-1, never mind lead it.
2. nobody from Esperance WA even knows how to use the internet

This leaves a French connection.

Therefore, I can only assume that it is Frenchy that has taken over the team.

Esperance is also a Tunisian football club apparently - so who knows. The manager has the same style of naming players after a real team and putting an asterisk at the end if they are anysided - not that this is uncommon.

Now I'm even more convinced it's Spiteri with his Maltese and Turkish teams, only he would follow Tunisian soccer too.

First I suspected it to be Borg and that Esperance was another Star Trek reference but I was too lazy to google search.

Don't think it's Spiteri, just because I would imagine he would keep Floriana instead of his second team. My guess would be that it's a manager Spiteri already knew from before. It could be Frenchy but he used the forum regularly, can't imagine he would keep quiet for so long. Time will tell I guess

I'm putting my money on MartinW. As much as I would like it to be Spiteri, I know that's not a realistic pick.

Ahhh, Gotta love these sort of situations. The guessing game of whoever now controls the team. My name is always put in the mix by somebody. I was quite close to Spiteri after all. We spoke quite abit in 4-1-1.
I will be giving away a team next season. It's quite well established actually but it's not Esperance. Lack of time and quite a few babysitting responsibilities can't keep up.

Cheers mate, it's really tight at the bottom hopefully my teams lack of ability won't cost me relegation at the end of the season!
It'll be the last time I buy a team of 500 credit players I hate being rubbish
