The Condolences Thread

Don't know why nobody has started one of these before now so thought I'd do the honours after seeing that James Gandolfini, of The Sopranos fame, died yesterday due to a heart attack.

Disrespecting the dead. Very classy.
I care because I've always liked him. And whilst the abbreviation RIP has its origins in the Catholic faith it doesn't mean that only Catholics can use it. It's a common epitaph for a variety of beliefs, including athiests.

why feel sadder just because someone famous dies? You have no idea what Mel Smith was like. Maybe he hung himself cos he was mixed up in the jimmy saville case...

He died from a heart attack, you muppet.
There was a Condolences Thread in the old forums years ago, you didn't have a problem with people being upset over famous people dying then so why now..?

I lost my Rufus today, my big Ginger Nut had a heart attack and died a few hours ago. I'm absolutely heartbroken because he was a reminder of his previous owner, Dave Barry, who tragically died 3 years ago. My mate Dave used to do an impression of him which made him look the spitting image of him...didn't realise how much until I adopted him. I'm in pieces at the moment.

I've lost a few dogs over the years, and people who aren't pet lovers just don't understand how it can really hurt, just like losing one of the family.

Shit, Peter O'Toole died today aged 81.
Feel free to call me an evil git but I always see the bright side of cinema greats dying because it means we're going to see plenty of their films on the telly.
