What are the benefits of being a member, I know there's some stuff listed on the page, but what are the actual benefits?

My membership recently ended (only got the membership because there was an issue with my friendlies about a year ago, and I got compensated with some credits and it came with a membership)

I haven't paid for this game in many years and don't really want to support a dead game where the owner doesn't really care.

What I'm observing is that I'm getting a lot more AWOLs now that I don't have the membership. Is that a known thing? or is it just a "coincidence"

Thanks

Spend a tenner. Not going to break the bank!! Will keep you going for a while if you are smart . Think it might still be double credits also... maybe.

to be fair, credits on this game are not expensive. most online games now need €20 a week or more to play

Yeah whilst they aren't developing or improving the game. They will put the plug on it when it dries up. Just like they have for cricket, baseball and the other versions

Not sure what the actual benefits are but I assumed if you was not a member you could not do training or join PLs.

However, I have seen some accounts that are not members currently in PLs along with playing friendly ladder games (don't know if they getting training bonus with that).

I understand where fatfrog is coming from not wanting to put in money into a game that has no future etc but unfortunately it is the only way if you want to somehow compete at the top level.

You don't have to spend thousands on players to be competing at the top either - Look at Martin and his FC Town of Luton team, a fantastic long serving manager who is always competing at the very top and spends the minimum on players in the TM.... Just might take a bit longer training them to become elite players given you have a good training regime 8)

I fear to what Brendan has said and yes the game could end up disappearing just like the other versions. It would take a big malfunction for this to happen as the coding for the game is completely out dated and all over the place.

Yeah always a slight worry that the game will get jettisoned like the others.

its not the cost of the game, its the principal really. Being here for so long and seeing this game from what it was to what it is now i choose to not support the creators.

As far as im aware you can still have friendlies, but not the points games, you can still spend the 100 credits and you get the training benefits but im not sure.

I've bult this team without buying any credits and buying each player for 500 and training them massively, after this season, i will be moving down to league 2, and saving up credits by winning leagues and voting for credits without any training and then buying a team with that, it'll mean i wont be competing in PLs but itll take next to no effort to win the league in lower divisions. then start competing again once im back in top flight!
