You can't play a Knock out (or league) in this game with eleven teams. You can play an eight or sixteen team  knockout only.

If I changed the competition to an 8 team competition, what would happen? Would three teams be dumped?

Ok, I asked Borg and he can change the conference 3 cup to an 8 team cup but the last three teams who entered would be excluded which is not very fair.

However, it doesn't look like we will get to 16 teams to start the cup.

What do people think? should we go for 8 teams only or just not have a competition this season?

We have 11 so Mmmrs would bring us to 12, still need another 4. I messaged every active player in the conference at least once, several got two messages.

What are our options to get this started? Could some people enter their second teams from other servers to get us to 16?

Is it ok for those teams to win the conference three cup? What do people think? Do many care? Should we scrap the cup for this season?

Options:

a) hopefully another 3 teams enter.
b) maybe convert to an 8 team ko (but 5 teams miss out)
c) perhaps convert to a 12 or 14 team league - play every day?

Let me know what your thoughts are?

Hello Jim,

Thanks for coming back. I got one reply from those i messaged yesterday and that was a negative reply so it looks unlikely that we will get three more teams from conference 3.

We could reduce the competition to 8 teams but this would be unfair on 5 teams, (although a couple are unlikely to be upset at missing out).

The league option isn't really a runner, this is supposed to be a cup competition.


If we could get three non-conference 3 teams to enter to make it to 16, maybe those teams would agree not to set up. Matches against them would effectively be a bye into the next round. That option might work. We would need teams that are happy to forego 500 credits.

You could consider making it a "Conference 3 Open Cup" 

That way, once all who wished to enter from Conf 3 had entered you could open up the competition to teams from other leagues who would actually compete..not just provide a bye.   It would add a bit of spice and give Conf 3 the chance to prove that they can win their own cup against all comers.  Just a thought. 

I think its real fun if teams from another conference try to win a different conference's cup.
