Let's all make a stance, there is only a handful of managers who still buy credits, so all the active users stop buying credits then something will change.

We would risk losing the game, but it could pay off and we could see something come out of this. the way this is going and from other managers comments, most people just come on here because its become a bit of a habit rather than actually enjoying the game, so people come on set up and go off. once you miss a few games here and there because you forgot to log in or was busy, then it just becomes pointless

At the end of the day, there are users out there who still enjoy playing this game and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Everyone has a different opinion regarding SL and even if most agree that this game needs improvement/shut down, others still find this game playable and are rather more relaxed then others about the current situation. It would not be fair on those people if you was to make some sort of ''stance''. If your not happy and enjoying the game no more, nobody is forcing you to continue or buy credits. I understand that some still might only be playing due to their history but that is the sacrifice you are choosing to do. If the game shuts down for good then your team history is pretty much worthless anyway. Perhaps go on holiday mode for a long duration or something if you want to keep your account but not play anymore if your worried about history. That is what I done and I returned with my account safe after a few years and that is what I will do again in the future. We all know the situation regarding SL and we all know nothing is going to be done about it. If the game goes down for whatever reason being a 'stance' or a 'malfunction', it will be down for good. As Borg said, the game is only going backwards but ultimately it is your decision if you want to play or not.

Going on Holiday mode also requires Credits for it to be active.

I haven't bought credits for a while and will not do so until there is some sort of movement on getting a service out of the game.

Like you said each to their own, but as long as a few people continue to pay to play the game, then we are never going to have anything happen. Like you said as long as the cost of running the server is obtained by the purchases there will be no reason to do anything to make a change here.

Obviously can't force anyone to make a stance or do anything everyone will do what they want according to how they feel, but personally i think this is the only way to actually get some sort movement on the future of this game and A lot of managers feel the same way but continue to pay which i don't understand..

Yes bud, I agree that this would be the only way to get some sort of movement as if this was to happen, Junior will start to have questions and he would have no option but to either put SL down or sell it on.
I believe holiday mode is free for members so you have upto 365 days that can be used free of charge and then its 50 credits a day when your not a member. I had my account on holiday mode for years and I don't remember if I had credits left over but I assume I didn't have much at all and that is why I quit the game back then. I think that holiday mode could be broken but I can't confirm this.
When you have users paying 10K for a STR(R) or whatever it was, it kind of shows you were we are at.

I originally quit the game around FL season 40 and came back FL season 70 which is just under 4 years.
Let's say the first year was free due to me being a member.
When your not a member it costs 50 credits a day so to cover 1 whole year is 50x365 = 18250
so for me to cover the 3 extra years would cost me 54750 credits. I know for a fact 100% I did not quit the game with that much amount of credits in my account. I would say I had between 5-10K at max.

Borg, I agree with the '' so much potential '' but unfortunately Junior doesn't see it this way.

SL is going nowhere unless the following happens;

1) Junior starts making a loss which is not happening anytime soon given the game is continuing. Minimum costs to host and I estimate Junior to make atleast £100 monthly on users buying credits thus ending up with a profit overall. If SL is making a loss, I don't see Junior leaving it available. If he is not willing to put any more of his own money in to the game, why would he continue making a loss?

2) Game failure where this is a big malfunction and doesn't take a few minutes to fix. If this was to happen, I doubt Junior would use his time to fix a long hard issue unless he gets someone else to do this but I don't see that happening. The game is so outdated along with the script and for this, a malfunction could happen anytime.

This is just my opinion.

Surely the biggest earner must be advertising revenue? The site is full of Adverts. Also the site seems to track other sites you visit and adverts about those sites appear on your Sunday League page. Sunday League appeared to be tracking your computer uses years before Google was doing it.

Could be Ag, I don't know much about how this advertising works but I think it's a pay as you click so if someone was to click the advert, SL would receive something. Probably 1p or less per click but I am not sure how this works.

I think your right about payment per click on an advert. On other sites you may get paid to host an advert for a certain amount of time. I would not think this applies on this site, that is tracking your computer activity. I don't know advertising revenues. Maybe a Manager could comment who may work in the field. 8)

This made me laugh as it's something I can imagine Junior saying  ;D

Can't speak for SL2 as I don't play it( I'd imagine that had a handful of managers if that) but SL1 now is as dead as. It is stagnated to such a level that it's going backwards. You have a few diehards with their rose tinted glasses on but the reality is the game is a total snorefest.

SL2 does seem to be attracticting a few new managers every week recently for some reason. A few old faces have returned in the last couple of months also. I'd say both sites are on an equal status. The same problems apply through a lack of development and forward thinking from Junior. Nathan is completely right.

I remember when Junior came to my office for our first initial meeting, he told me there were over 1000 registered users playing. I honestly don't know how I held my nerve after that comment lol.

He’s about 15 years late with that comment 😂

That's an incredible statement. The top divisions x-1-1 average about 12 active teams each so that's 96 teams. Many managers have two teams and there are some managers in the lower leagues but I would say that there are in and around 100 active users but as we see from FL, maybe 50 are very active with some a small number who dont really play private leagues as well.

If every spot was filled in every division with a registered user that would equal 4,096 teams.

On average there should be a minimum of 4 registered users per league on SL for there to be 1,000 users.

Flicking through the leagues, I don't think 1,000 users is a completely stupid figure and I would guess there's around 500.

Like Cove said, if you ignore multiple teams and exclude users that don't purchase credits, then the figure of active registered users can't be anywhere near 100.
